Cheng Tian asked Jirachi to locate the mysterious Pokémon linked to the GS Ball, and Jirachi sent him toward a place on White Horse Mountain. After finding a ruined shrine there, Cheng Tian held the GS Ball above it and prayed for Xiaohan to return.
Cheng Tian summoned Celebi and learned that he had met it in different timelines, then returned to the present to face Bai Yun. The chapter ended as Cheng Tian challenged Bai Yun to a battle.
Cheng Tian, believed dead since the Great Calamity, returned and challenged his friend Bai Yun for the Pokémon League Champion title. After Bai Yun introduced him to the crowd, the League approved the challenge, and the two prepared to battle.
Bai Yun and Cheng Tian battled as Breloom and then Mienshao faced Aggron, with Cheng Tian Mega Evolving Aggron to counter Mienshao’s speed. The fight continued with Mega Aggron charging relentlessly after Mienshao across the field.
Bai Yun’s Mienshao used Tai Chi and a powerful Focus Punch to fight Cheng Tian’s Mega Aggron, but the battle ended with Aggron trading itself for both Mienshao and Breloom. The crowd applauded Cheng Tian’s strength as both trainers lost another Pokémon.
Cheng Tian and Bai Yun traded Pokémon as Lycanroc overcame Florges before Milotic defeated it. Bai Yun then sent out Urshifu, leaving it facing Milotic.
Cheng Tian and Bai Yun battled through Pokémon switches before both used their Key Stones to Mega Evolve Gengar and Lucario. Their Pokémon traded powerful attacks, leaving both injured as the fight continued.
Bai Yun and Cheng Tian traded Pokémon in a brutal battle, using Z-Moves and underhanded tactics to gain an edge. Cheng Tian’s Noivern then faced Urshifu, which seized it midair and began pounding it as both Pokémon fought on.
Bai Yun and Cheng Tian’s Urshifu and Noivern pushed each other to their limits in a brutal battle, then fainted at the same time. Both trainers prepared to send out their last Pokémon, choosing to finish the match with their first partners.
Cheng Tian’s Greninja and Bai Yun’s Infernape fought a brutal final battle that ended with Infernape falling after both Pokémon landed their last punches. Bai Yun invited Cheng Tian and Su Han to his winter wedding, and Greninja promised Infernape another match.
Cheng Tian recorded his champion profile and message in the Hall of Honor after defeating Bai Yun. As the group left, Gamino challenged him, but Cheng Tian postponed any battles while he rested and prepared for what came next.
Cheng Tian traveled with Celebi to the anime world, arriving near Pallet Town to find the real Giratina in the first world Arceus created. After meeting Infernape and Bulbasaur, he reached Professor Oak’s home and was asked who he was.
Cheng Tian told Professor Oak that he came from another world and needed to find the real Giratina to stop an impostor threatening his world. Professor Oak offered to connect him with Professor Carolina, but their conversation was interrupted by Delia arriving at the laboratory.
Cheng Tian visited Professor Oak and met Delia, who spoke proudly of Ash’s Masters Eight competition and his wish to keep adventuring. After Professor Oak arranged his trip to Sinnoh, Delia gave Cheng a hat she had sewn for Ash before a journey, and Cheng Tian set off on Noivern.
Cheng Tian arrived in Sinnoh and planned a route through Floaroma Town and Eterna Forest toward Celestic Town. Officer Jenny warned him that Team Galactic fugitives were attacking travelers in Eterna Forest, but Cheng Tian decided to continue that way because he was in a hurry.
Cheng Tian encountered Team Galactic in Eterna Forest, where Cynthia and Lucario attacked the group and mistook him for one of their members. After Professor Oak confirmed Cheng Tian’s identity, Cynthia invited him to travel with her toward Celestic Town, and he revealed that he was searching for Giratina.
Cynthia escorted Cheng Tian across Mt. Coronet to Celestic Town, where Professor Carolina shared her research on Giratina and explained how to seek it. Cheng Tian learned that the Distortion World’s entrance was hidden within Mt. Coronet, then spent an awkward night at Professor Carolina’s home thinking of his distant fiancée.
Cheng Tian searched Mt. Coronet with Aggron, Noivern, and Gengar and found a dead Team Galactic member buried beneath the snow. Using Gengar’s Z-Move, he revealed a hidden cavern atop the mountain and jumped inside with Gengar.
Cheng Tian entered the Distortion World and discovered that he had been transformed into a girl. After Gengar battled a Palossand whose attacks defied type matchups, a colossal dragon emerged from a black hole.
Cheng Tian met the real Giratina in the Distortion World and asked it for help, claiming Arceus had sent him. After hearing how Arceus had used its Griseous Orb, Giratina agreed to follow Cheng Tian and confront the impostor.
Giratina gave Cheng Tian its reverse scale so it could track the Griseous Orb and enter the impostor’s Distortion World without causing an uproar in Cheng Tian’s world. Cheng Tian left the Distortion World in a forest, returned to his male body, and prepared to go back to Xiaohan with Celebi.
Cheng Tian entered the sealed realm to rescue Xiaohan and confronted the impostor with his six Pokémon. He summoned the real Giratina, which attacked the impostor and condemned it as a false god.
Giratina confronted the impostor that had taken its form, and they battled across the devastated world. Giratina gained the advantage by using its superior mastery of Ghost-type and spatial powers, but the impostor healed and demanded another fight.
Cheng Tian and Giratina worked out a plan to reach the Griseous Orb, which was sealing the impostor, while Giratina held it back. Cheng Tian and his Pokémon fought through the Ghost-type swarm as Noivern carried him toward the orb above the impostor.
Cheng Tian secured the Griseous Orb and gave it to Giratina, allowing Giratina to reclaim its primal power and become Origin Giratina. With the portal to the real world closed, Giratina faced the impostor as it launched a desperate attack.
