Background / History
Gojo was born with the Six Eyes and regarded becoming a jujutsu sorcerer as the natural course of his life. His power made him an assassination target from childhood. According to him, the bounty on his head increased from 100 million to 300 million yen after he turned six; he blamed Chisei’s childhood prediction that he would upset Jujutsu Society’s balance. Chisei countered that people had already been trying to kill him since birth. His bounty later expired after he entered Jujutsu High and demonstrated his abilities 2 14 22.
His family maintained inherited ties with the Miwa family dating back to the era of the Four Great Families. Gojo tells Geto that the first Six Eyes bearer appeared approximately five hundred years earlier, when the Miwa family was expelled and the Three Great Families era began. At that point, he does not know whether the events were connected, and says his clan has no records explaining the coincidence 2 26.
During Chisei’s childhood visit to the Gojo Clan, Gojo mistook her silver hair as evidence that she was his father’s illegitimate daughter and beat her until she cried. Her father, Tatsuki, had sought the clan’s protection because of her unusual talent, but an agreement was never reached. Despite his inherited importance, Gojo still lacked authority over clan affairs as a student 2 3 10 27.
Gojo Yu later reveals that the childhood proposal was specifically a marriage alliance. The Miwa family had long helped the Gojo Clan predict the circumstances of future Six Eyes births, making preservation of the Miwa bloodline important to the clan. Chisei distinguishes this political arrangement from Satoru’s personal concern for her, recognizing that he never protected her for those reasons 134.
Tengen eventually clarifies that Miwa jujutsu did not create the first Six Eyes bearer. A powerful Miwa sorcerer known as “Demon Eyes” protected that bearer and wished for the Six Eyes to continue existing in the world. His blessing ensured that another bearer would be born even if one was killed. Tengen also identifies the mysterious cursed object in the Gojo Clan’s vault as an eyeball belonging to the mismatched-eyed sorcerer involved in the historical conflict 208.
Gojo celebrates his eighteenth birthday on December 7, 2007. After graduating, he adopts Megumi Fushiguro, spends some time freelancing, and joins Tokyo Jujutsu High as a trainee teacher without obtaining a teaching license. His subsequent work centers on raising a new generation capable of changing Jujutsu Society 100 105 109.
Appearance
- Hair: Silver, sometimes swept back from his forehead 8.
- Eyes: Brilliant sky-blue or azure eyes, associated with the Six Eyes 1 2.
- Build: Tall, with long legs and a strikingly handsome face 12 24 35.
- Features: Fair, clear skin, pink lips, and slightly pointed teeth visible when he grins 12 23.
- Usual clothing: As a student, a dark Jujutsu High uniform, round black sunglasses, and black leather shoes 1 2 9.
- Adult clothing: Wears a Jujutsu High teacher’s uniform and covers his eyes with white bandages or a black blindfold. He also continues to wear sunglasses in private 132 172 198.
Personality
Gojo is outspoken, arrogant, and easily provoked into competitive behavior. He insults classmates and juniors, threatens to make Chisei cry, and proposes training matches partly to satisfy his own desire to fight her. His confidence is backed by overwhelming ability, but it also leads him to dismiss her warning that someone is targeting him 24 40.
His hostile language often contrasts with protective actions. He takes responsibility for killing a curse user so that Chisei will not face trouble before enrollment, secures emergency treatment for her, and stays awake while she recovers in his bed. Geto explicitly identifies concern for her safety beneath Gojo’s aggressive recruitment efforts, which Gojo refuses to acknowledge openly 9 10 16 17.
Gojo distrusts the higher-ups and questions their sudden interest in the Miwa family rather than accepting his assignment unquestioningly. He also dislikes moralizing “proper arguments” and considers elaborate clan maneuvering beneath him. His father describes him as straightforward and confirms that Gojo knows nothing about the political scheme behind Chisei’s recruitment 3 27 36.
His resistance to authority becomes more explicit as his power develops. He refuses to betray Chisei’s trust by spying on her, rejecting his father’s warning that defiance could disrupt the Three Great Families’ political balance. He later promises not to interfere even if she becomes a curse user, provided she does not harm innocent people 86 104.
As an adult, Gojo remains frivolous and provocative but takes his students’ futures seriously. Rather than merely opposing the higher-ups himself, he seeks to cultivate strong young allies who can transform the system. He encourages Megumi to articulate his own wishes over strict adherence to jujutsu regulations and protects Yuji while privately intending to prevent his eventual execution 109 111 150 170 172 178.
His teaching mixes genuine confidence in his students with self-serving jokes and demanding practical exercises. He hopes Yuta will become strong enough to take high-level missions off his hands, brings Yuji into a dangerous battle to teach Domain Expansion, and turns an apparent friendly gathering into an impromptu fight involving Yuta 114 148 181.
Gojo’s romantic behavior initially combines awkwardness, teasing, and a competitive desire to make Chisei fall for him. Geto advises him to put his kinder impulses before his insults. His persistence continues for years, accompanied by jealousy when Chisei pays attention to other men, but he eventually expresses insecurity openly and accepts her reassurance 66 77 78 84 89 105 162.
Despite his composure in battle, he panics during Chisei’s labor. He prioritizes staying beside her over immediately seeing their newborn children and tells Geto that he intends to have a vasectomy after witnessing the delivery 221.
Abilities & Skills
Six Eyes
Gojo’s Six Eyes provide extraordinary perception and accompany his exceptional cursed energy control 4 16.
- Detects a trail of Chisei’s red cursed energy in the rain 8.
- Notices Toji standing behind him during childhood despite Toji having no cursed energy 16.
- Makes it impossible for suspicious individuals to hide from him while the group boards their flight 44.
- Recognizes Chisei’s last-minute use of Divination Jujutsu against Toji 49.
- Processes overwhelming amounts of information without his sunglasses; removing them leaves him visibly irritated 9 21.
- Locates Sukuna’s finger in spring water during a mission 67.
- Assesses Yuta’s enormous cursed energy and recognizes that the boy has more than he does 110.
- Discerns an internal weak point within Mahito during their fight 145.
- Narrows down the location of Sukuna’s finger to a high school in Miyagi Prefecture 167.
- Does not identify the abnormality in the person occupying Kamo Tetsuya’s body: his vital signs and cursed energy appear normal to Gojo, while Chisei later discovers the discrepancy through divination 175.
Limitless Defense
Limitless prevents attacks from reaching Gojo’s body by slowing them increasingly as they approach, rather than functioning as a conventional protective barrier. Chisei’s enhanced fist stops a few centimeters short of him during their three-way fight; he later demonstrates the same effect by preventing Jogo from touching his palm 36 180.
- Can exclude rain from the space around him 9.
- Is still under development when he describes it as only half finished 36.
- Initially is not continuously active because maintaining it consumes substantial cursed energy 40.
- His rapid reactions make a follow-up attack difficult once he activates the defense 40.
- Does not prevent Toji from piercing his neck with the Inverted Spear of Heaven 45.
- Later remains active all day, with nearly zero cursed energy expenditure and constant brain repair through Reverse Cursed Technique 91.
- Chisei is later shown punching him through Limitless 118.
- Prevents Mahito from making the physical contact required to use Idle Transfiguration on him 145.
- Leaves him unharmed by Jogo’s lava, Ember Insects, and flaming physical attacks 180.
- Can be countered by a domain’s guaranteed-hit effect; Gojo answers Jogo’s Domain Expansion with his own, more refined domain 181.
Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue
Blue is Gojo’s regularly used offensive cursed energy output before his awakening 24.
- Overwhelms Nanami and Riona before they can execute their coordinated plan 24.
- Can be deliberately reduced in power for a training match 24.
- Produces destructive explosions during his fight with Geto and Chisei at the school entrance 36.
Reverse Cursed Technique
Gojo learns to generate positive energy and heal himself after Toji inflicts life-threatening wounds. Before that encounter, he understands the general principle but cannot perform it 31 48.
- Heals his pierced neck and severe head wound, allowing him to return to battle 48.
- Cannot heal other people as Shoko can; his attempt to treat Chisei fails 49.
- Gojo credits his survival to Toji failing to sever his head or use the Inverted Spear of Heaven for the head strike 48.
- Explains that he grasped the core of cursed energy but cannot output the healing energy to others 52.
- Continuously repairs his brain to offset the strain of keeping Limitless active throughout the day 91.
- Can restore his bodily functions and alleviate physical exhaustion 167.
Cursed Technique Reversal: Red
Red applies the positive energy of Reverse Cursed Technique to Limitless, creating a new offensive technique 49.
- Uses maximum cursed energy output in the rematch with Toji 49.
- Has destructive power several times greater than his earlier technique 49.
- Is not enough to defeat Toji on its own; Toji withstands the strike and charges again 49.
Hollow Technique: Purple
Purple is the decisive attack Gojo uses against Toji after Red fails to finish him 49.
- Releases a violet-white beam that Toji cannot evade 49.
- Tears through Toji’s exceptionally durable body and inflicts otherwise fatal damage 49 50.
- Leaves Toji alive only after Chisei intervenes with her own jujutsu 49 50.
- Cannot damage Sukuna’s fingers, despite its destructive power 67.
- Chisei states that she cannot stop Gojo from casting it with her time-adjustment technique, though she can accelerate her own movement to evade its limited width 92.
- Destroys Mahito’s enlarged body where it strikes and consumes the trees Hanami sends to intercept it 145.
Atomic Explosion
Gojo uses attacks described as Atomic Explosion, forming black spheres that release destructive atomic light waves. Their power can tear through space, but Gojo treats them as basic attacks and rejects Jogo’s assumption that repeatedly using them will exhaust his cursed energy 181.
- Can unleash explosive attacks without hand signs 145.
- Damages Mahito after he transforms into a bird to escape 145.
- Sends Jogo flying into a lake during their confrontation 181.
Spatial Teleportation
Gojo identifies long-distance teleportation as a research goal before later demonstrating the ability in adulthood. He can travel rapidly between locations and transport other people with him 92 132 172 181.
- Appears near Chisei while still dressed for work after her visit to the Zenin Clan 132.
- Leaves his battle with Jogo, retrieves Yuji, and returns carrying him so that the student can observe Domain Expansion 181.
- Instantly appears beside Geto and Yuta after breaking through a Curtain 194.
- Helps Chisei practice countering teleportation. She tracks his destination through his cursed energy and combines Red Path Return, Transcription, and Judgment to exchange him with her blood and pull him back 198.
- Appears in Chisei’s room when she goes into labor and takes her to the hospital 221.
Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void
Unlimited Void manifests the interior of Limitless as a vast, silent space resembling the void or universe, with an enormous pupil-like moon overhead. It forces its target to experience endlessly repeating perception and information, leaving them unable to control their thoughts or actions 181 182.
- Activates after Gojo removes his blindfold and crosses his index and middle fingers 181.
- Effortlessly overwrites Jogo’s domain 181.
- Incapacitates Jogo through information overload rather than ordinary physical restraint 181.
- Allows Gojo to seize and tear off Jogo’s head while keeping Yuji at his side as an observer 182.
- Gojo explains that domain clashes depend on refinement, cursed energy, and compatibility. He identifies expanding one’s own domain as the best counter to an enemy Domain Expansion 181.
Physical Combat and Cursed Energy
Gojo’s strength is not limited to his named techniques 9 36.
- Catches Chisei’s full-force punch with one hand 9.
- Kills a curse user by crushing the back of his neck underfoot 9.
- Grabs and crushes a cursed spirit attacking him at close range 36.
- Releases enough cursed energy during a fight with Geto to shake the school campus 10.
- Possesses enough cursed energy that five of Chisei’s fingernail sacrifices cause only a humiliating splash of vegetable water, whereas one clipping can kill a semi-grade 1 cursed spirit 4.
- Does not possess the largest absolute cursed energy reserves: Yuki Tsukumo, Geto, and Yuta have more. His extraordinary efficiency nevertheless reduces the cost of his jujutsu to almost nothing or zero, making sustained combat exceptionally difficult to exhaust 110.
- Can be immobilized by Chisei’s blood-based jujutsu, though he subsequently breaks free 65 66.
- Overwhelms the one-finger incarnation of Sukuna with hand-to-hand strikes 169.
- Strikes Jogo with force that the cursed spirit experiences as distortion of the space inside his body 180.
- Has used many of the Gojo Clan’s cursed tools since early childhood, including unconventional equipment such as a cursed tennis ball and racket 161.
Limitations and Sealing
Gojo’s immense strength does not make him immune to every specialized counter. The Inverted Spear of Heaven bypasses his defense during Toji’s attack, and his self-healing does not extend to other people 45 49 52.
The Prison Realm can immobilize and seal him once its activation conditions are fulfilled. The required minute can pass within the target’s mind rather than in external time. Kenjaku exploits this condition, and Gojo’s jujutsu stops functioning when the object locks onto him 205.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Round black sunglasses — Filter the information he processes through the Six Eyes. They are so dark that Chisei can see almost nothing when she tries them on 9 21.
- Mobile phone — Stores his recruitment assignment and allows Chisei to contact him about the threat against him 12 40.
- Wallet — Carries substantial cash; Geto takes 50,000 yen from it to pay for Chisei’s fortune reading 1.
- White bandages and black blindfold — Adult alternatives to his sunglasses. He removes the blindfold before using Unlimited Void. Geto made his black blindfold from fabric taken from Chisei’s uniform 132 181 202.
- Gojo Clan cursed tool vault — Has access to the clan’s secluded vault outside Japan, which he believes is in the Northern Hemisphere. Its collection includes tools ranging from Grade 4 to Special Grade, many of which he has personally used 160 161.
- Cursed tennis ball and racket — Demonstrates a Special Grade Cursed Tool Tennis Ball and its matching racket while showing Chisei the vault 161.
- Unidentified clan cursed object — A mysterious object found in the vault has no surviving explanation in the clan’s records. Tengen later identifies it as an eyeball from the historical mismatched-eyed sorcerer 163 208.
Relationships
- Miwa Chisei — Childhood acquaintance, recruitment target, eventual junior, and later wife. Their constant insults coexist with mutual concern: he saves her from Toji, while she risks her life to delay Toji after Gojo is wounded. He also finds her sleeping face pleasing and adjusts his posture for her comfort 2 16 44 45 46 47. His attempts to make her fall for him develop into an explicit confession, but she initially rejects him after overhearing his plan with Geto. Years later, she reciprocates on his birthday, and they begin a romantic relationship. They subsequently marry and become parents to twins 77 104 105 153 162 211 221.
- Suguru Geto — Best friend, classmate, and frequent mission partner. They fight, cause trouble together, and remain close afterward; Geto particularly enjoys exposing Gojo’s concern for Chisei 1 10 17 24. Gojo’s awakening ends their status as fixed mission partners, but their friendship continues into adulthood. They coordinate a long-term effort to cultivate young sorcerers and reduce the higher-ups’ control, while Geto frequently covers Gojo’s classes and offers romantic advice 63 78 109 150.
- Shoko Ieiri — Classmate and healer. Gojo pays for her cigarettes to secure Chisei’s emergency treatment and later listens to her explanation of Reverse Cursed Technique 16 31. She confirms the limits of his self-healing and later attends Chisei during the birth of their twins 52 221.
- Masamichi Yaga — Teacher and disciplinarian. Assigns the recruitment deadline and physically breaks up Gojo’s destructive fights 3 10 22 36. Continues reprimanding him after he becomes a teacher, including after his impromptu battle with Geto and Yuta 148.
- Gojo Yu — Father and Gojo Clan head. Secretly arranges Chisei’s recruitment partly to divert attention from his increasingly powerful son; Gojo is initially unaware of the plan 26 27. Their disagreements intensify when Satoru refuses to monitor Chisei for the higher-ups. Yu later promotes a marriage alliance and describes his son as potentially the strongest Six Eyes bearer in the clan’s history 86 134.
- Toji Fushiguro — Opponent who nearly kills him, prompting his Reverse Cursed Technique awakening. Gojo wins their rematch and hears Toji’s request concerning Megumi 45 48 49. He permits Toji’s survival under an agreement with Chisei, threatening to kill him if he causes further trouble. In adulthood, he brings Megumi to meet Toji under the alias “Little Er” without immediately revealing their relationship 51 199 200.
- Megumi Fushiguro — Toji’s son and Gojo’s adopted son and student. Chisei initially foresees a long-lasting future connection between them, and Toji tells Gojo that Megumi will otherwise be sold to the Zenin Clan 33 49. Gojo adopts him after graduation, supports his development, and later becomes his first-year teacher. His backing protects Megumi from the Zenin Clan’s pressure while giving him the possibility of challenging its traditions 105 118 131 163 166.
- Yuta Okkotsu — Student and distant relative through their shared descent from Sugawara no Michizane. Gojo recruits him, helps secure his enrollment despite opposition from the higher-ups, and expresses exceptional confidence in his potential 110 111 112 118. Yuta respects him as a teacher and later becomes an admired older figure and teacher to Gojo’s children 114 224.
- Yuji Itadori — Student and Sukuna’s vessel. Gojo recognizes his unusual ability to suppress Sukuna, supports his enrollment, and privately intends to prevent his execution. He later trains Yuji in secret and uses his battle with Jogo as a practical lesson in Domain Expansion 170 172 178 181.
- Miwa Yo and Gojo Xi — Biological son and daughter, born as twins. Gojo initially refuses to leave Chisei’s side to see them, then holds them after she reassures him. The children grow up surrounded by affection from their parents’ circle and Gojo’s students 221 224.
- Mei Mei — Sorcerer who exploits his concern for Chisei by collecting 100,000 yen from him over a loan that was actually only 10,000 yen 19 20.
- Utahime Iori — Fellow sorcerer whom he mocks by asking whether she is crying. She despises both him and Geto 38. His continued teasing about her comparatively support-oriented abilities sustains her dislike of him 164.
- Jujutsu Higher-Ups — Political adversaries whose authority he increasingly challenges. He refuses to provide intelligence on Chisei, pressures them over Yuta’s enrollment, and seeks to replace their influence through the development of a new generation 86 104 112 150 178.
- Kenjaku — Enemy operating through Kamo Tetsuya’s identity. Gojo’s Six Eyes do not initially detect the occupation of that body. Kenjaku regards sealing him as preferable to confronting him directly and eventually traps him in the Prison Realm 175 179 205.
- Jogo — Special grade cursed spirit who attacks him intending to kill the Six Eyes. Gojo overwhelms him, uses him to teach Yuji, and incapacitates him with Unlimited Void before tearing off his head 180 181 182.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Recruiting Chisei
Gojo’s first assignment is to bring Chisei to Jujutsu High. He drags Geto along on their day off, only to encounter her refusal, a costly fortune reading, and renewed hostility stemming from their childhood meeting. He repeatedly offers food, school benefits, and companionship, but she insists on an ordinary life 1 2 3 6 14.
After learning of her 200-million-yen live-capture bounty, Gojo offers to investigate. When Toji attacks her, he arrives in time to force a retreat, takes her to Shoko, and gives her his dorm room to recover. His warning that she is harder to protect outside the school helps persuade her to enroll 9 16 17 20 22.
School Conflicts and the Bounty Investigation
Gojo’s attempts to challenge Chisei lead to a lopsided training match against Nanami and Riona. Later, he rejects Toji’s allegation that the Gojo Clan posted her bounty, arguing that his father prefers open plotting. The discussion turns into a three-way fight that damages Jujutsu High’s entrance and earns Yaga’s punishment 24 35 36.
Star Plasma Vessel Mission and Awakening
Gojo and Geto undertake the mission involving Riko Amanai. After the group reunites at Naha Airport, his Six Eyes help secure their departure for Tokyo. Despite Chisei’s earlier warning about a possible attacker, he dismisses her questions about someone with a Heavenly Restriction 40 41 44.
Back at Jujutsu High, Toji pierces Gojo’s neck with the Inverted Spear of Heaven and drives a dagger into his skull. Unable to speak, Gojo urges Chisei through his gaze to find Geto and Toji. While she delays Toji, Gojo learns Reverse Cursed Technique and returns healed 45 46 47 48.
Gojo defeats Toji with Purple, then discovers that Chisei attempted to alter Toji’s fate. When she asks him to pretend he saw nothing, he laughs and walks away. The next chapter confirms that Toji survived, though he has lost his left arm 49 50.
Gojo later tells Geto that he did not hold back and that Chisei was responsible for Toji’s survival. Concern that she paid a severe price drives him to confront her in the infirmary, where she clarifies that her newly learned Reverse Cursed Technique saved Toji rather than a lifespan-consuming alteration of fate. Shoko also confirms that Gojo cannot heal others 51 52.
Chisei subsequently asks Gojo to use his father’s influence to stop the hunt for Toji, whom she intends to employ. Their initial conversation becomes another fight, but they later visit the Gojo household together and raise the matter with Yu 53 54 55.
Further Growth and Defiance of the Higher-Ups
Gojo serves as the examiner for Chisei’s promotion mission, but his attempt to use the opportunity to draw closer to her backfires. After their argument, he confirms that she completed the mission successfully and resolves to apologize following Geto’s advice 77 78.
The higher-ups assign Gojo to monitor Chisei as head of the Miwa Main Family. Recognizing the assignment as a move against both families, he refuses to spy on her despite Yu’s warning about the consequences of defying Jujutsu Society 86.
His technical progress continues: he demonstrates all-day Limitless, explains his near-zero energy consumption and continuous brain repair, and identifies teleportation and domains as his next research subjects 91 92.
When Haibara survives an incident that Shoko initially reported as fatal, Gojo deduces that Chisei used a forbidden fate-changing technique at the cost of her lifespan. He confronts her about the sacrifice, but she declines to specify the number of years lost and asks him to keep it secret 95.
After Chisei confronts the higher-ups, Gojo admits that he was ordered to observe her but has reported nothing. He offers his support and confesses that he likes her, only for her to reveal that she overheard his earlier plan to make her fall for him. Although she rejects his romantic expectations, she invites him to help throw Jujutsu Society into chaos 104.
Teaching and Cultivating a New Generation
After graduation, Gojo adopts Megumi and eventually joins Tokyo Jujutsu High as a trainee teacher. His goal is to change the higher-ups’ system through new blood rather than leave the next generation subject to its existing abuses 105 109.
Gojo and Chisei investigate Yuta Okkotsu, whose connection to Rika and enormous cursed energy attract their attention. Gojo offers him a place at Jujutsu High and the possibility of breaking the curse. After learning that Yuta is a distant relative, he takes responsibility for the boy’s development and pressures the higher-ups to approve his transfer 110 111 112 114.
Alongside Geto, Gojo pursues a plan begun after their graduation: strengthening their institutions and cultivating allied sorcerers while initially allowing the higher-ups to underestimate them. They later invite Chisei to cooperate through her intelligence work 150.
Gojo also supports Megumi’s early training with Yuta, Toge, Maki, and Panda. When Megumi formally enrolls, Gojo is assigned to teach the new first-year class 163 166.
Counter-Curses and the Miwa Family Crisis
Gojo arrives after Chisei is wounded in a confrontation with the mysterious figure interested in the Miwa family and the Six Eyes. He carries her to Megumi, Tsumiki, and the cursed A Ming. After recognizing the curse as a Miwa Counter-Curse, Chisei asks him to conceal that connection from the children, and he urges her to trust him more 124.
As the crisis expands, Gojo tells Chisei that ordinary people across the country have fallen unconscious from counter-curses. He supports her while her cursed energy increases and promises that he, Geto, and Chisei will solve the situation together 133.
At the cemetery, Gojo confronts Mahito and Hanami while Chisei attempts to rescue Miwa Yuto. Limitless prevents Mahito from touching him, and Gojo overwhelms the cursed spirits with physical attacks, explosive techniques, and Purple 145.
Relationship with Chisei
Gojo’s pursuit continues for years after his initial confession. The political history behind the proposed marriage alliance becomes explicit when Yu explains the Gojo Clan’s dependence on Miwa predictions concerning the Six Eyes. Chisei nevertheless affirms that Satoru’s protection of her was never motivated by that bargain 105 134.
On Gojo’s birthday, Chisei visits his room at two in the morning and asks whether she can be his present. He embraces her, says that his feelings have never changed, and kisses her, establishing their mutual romantic relationship 153.
During a visit to the Gojo Clan’s cursed tool vault, the pair discuss his insecurity, reaffirm their love, and become intimate. Gojo declares that he wants to marry her immediately. The unexplained cursed object found in the vault does not divide them, and afterward he openly refers to Chisei as his girlfriend 162 163.
Yuji’s Enrollment and the Battle with Jogo
Gojo accompanies Chisei and Megumi to Miyagi Prefecture to retrieve Sukuna’s finger. After Yuji consumes it, Gojo subdues the one-finger incarnation of Sukuna and tests whether Yuji can regain control. When Megumi states that he does not want Yuji executed, Gojo encourages him to affirm that wish as a personal request 167 169 170.
Gojo arranges Yuji’s enrollment under the premise that he will collect Sukuna’s fingers before execution, while privately telling Chisei that he will not allow his student to die. After Yuji later returns from apparent death, Gojo conceals his survival and trains him in a secluded underground room, leaving even Megumi and Nobara uninformed for the time being 172 178.
Jogo ambushes Gojo on a mountain road after he sends Ijichi ahead. Gojo withstands the cursed spirit’s attacks without injury, explains the slowing effect of Limitless, and overwhelms him in close combat 180.
Gojo then retrieves Yuji to observe their battle. He explains Domain Expansion while inside Jogo’s lava-filled domain, counters it with Unlimited Void, and incapacitates Jogo through information overload. He tears off Jogo’s head before ending the domain 181 182.
The higher-ups continue sending Gojo away from Tokyo in apparent attempts to expose Yuji to danger. In response, he entrusts Yuji’s protection to Chisei whenever he is absent 183.
Prison Realm Plot and the Truth of the Six Eyes
Chisei and Gojo practice countering spatial teleportation, successfully developing a method that pulls him back after he teleports. New information about the stolen Death Painting Wombs also leads Chisei to suspect that the enemy’s real target may be Gojo 198.
As they investigate the Prison Realm, Chisei arranges for Toji to remain hidden and prepare to release anyone sealed within it. During these preparations, Gojo brings Megumi to meet Toji under an alias, allowing the estranged father to speak with his son without an immediate disclosure of his identity 199 200 202.
Kenjaku ultimately seals Gojo by satisfying the Prison Realm’s one-minute condition through the time passing within Gojo’s thoughts. Once the object locks onto him, his techniques cease functioning and he is drawn inside 205.
Gojo is active again by the subsequent meeting with Tengen. There, he and Chisei learn that the Miwa family did not manufacture the Six Eyes: “Demon Eyes” protected a Gojo sorcerer and bestowed the blessing that preserved the Six Eyes’ continued existence. Gojo also asks about the cursed object in his clan’s vault and learns its origin 208.
Marriage and Fatherhood
By the time Chisei reestablishes the Miwa family register, she and Gojo are already married. Gojo becomes jealous that finding surviving Miwa relatives seems to make her happier than their marriage, prompting his friends to suggest that they have spent so long together that they have neglected ordinary romantic experiences 211.
With a Shinto wedding ceremony approaching and Chisei pregnant, Gojo takes time off and surprises her with a private cruise. He explains that he wants them to spend time together as lovers rather than as sorcerers, temporarily leaving the demands of Jujutsu Society behind 212.
Chisei later gives birth to twins, a boy and a girl. Gojo transports her to the hospital and remains beside her throughout the delivery, panicking at the sight of her blood. After the birth, he initially refuses to leave her to see the babies, reassures her that she is the person he loves most, and finally holds their children 221.
The later side story identifies the twins as Miwa Yo and Gojo Xi. They grow up surrounded by powerful, affectionate adults and their father’s former students, and eventually train under Yuta Okkotsu 224.
