Power Progression

Chisei initially chooses Grade 1 as her preferred goal; her entrance assessment does not reveal a final classification. By the time the higher-ups assign Gojo to monitor her, she has become a Grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer. She retains that rank as an adult, deliberately refusing Special Grade recognition despite Geto’s assessment that her abilities already exceed its requirements 37 38 87 105 113.

Background / History

Chisei belongs to the main line of the Miwa family, descended from Emperor Sutoku. Five hundred years earlier, the family had held a place among the Four Great Families before losing its standing and being expelled from Jujutsu Society. The exact reason is unknown; the most widespread explanation concerns the family’s ability to target people and alter their fates. Its ancestral home, shrine, and much of its recorded history were subsequently lost 2 3 4.

Her mother died in a traffic accident when Chisei was young, leaving her father, Tatsuki, to raise her. He taught her to protect ordinary humans and trained her extensively for her own survival. Chisei was born with the greatest cursed energy the family had produced during a century of decline 8 20 30.

Tatsuki died the year before her recruitment to Jujutsu High. As his only child, Chisei inherited the Sun and Moon Charm and became family head. She had written to the Gojo Clan seeking help with his funeral expenses but received no reply. She understood that the young Satoru Gojo lacked authority over clan affairs and did not blame him for that silence 3.

Chisei later suspected that the branch family’s ambitions were connected to Tatsuki’s death. She had overheard him arguing with Miwa Yuto three months before his organs began rapidly failing. Doctors diagnosed advanced cancer, but his annual medical examinations made the sudden decline suspicious to her. Yuto’s suicide note eventually confirms that his Counter-Curse caused Tatsuki’s illness 20 155.

Her childhood visit to the Gojo Clan had been intended to arrange a marriage alliance. Tatsuki sought protection because the weakened Miwa family could not safeguard the extraordinary ability emerging in his daughter. As an adult, Chisei recognizes the mutual political interests behind the clans’ association while distinguishing them from Satoru’s personal reasons for protecting her 134.

After graduating from Jujutsu High, Chisei establishes her own company with Mei Mei, Yuki Tsukumo, and Toji Fushiguro as shareholders. Its exclusive clubs provide the legitimate business infrastructure for an intelligence network operating across both ordinary society and Jujutsu Society 105 107 130.

Appearance

  • Silver hair — conspicuous enough for Toji to recognize her in a crowd; usually loose during the events at Jujutsu High 39 45.
  • Deep crimson eyes — described as blood-red and ominous, a hereditary mark of the Miwa family’s connection to the demon king 2.
  • Fair skin and slender build — her exposed wrist and hands are particularly delicate 1 4.
  • Dark kimono and wooden sandals — her preferred clothing includes altered men’s kimono inherited from her father 3 21.
  • Sunglasses — conceal eyes that frightened people at her former school 2 19.
  • Modified school uniform — has loose sleeves for keeping her hands tucked away and a blue-gray belt marking her for special attention 37 41.
  • Adult exercise clothing — wears bright yellow sportswear and ties her long hair into a high ponytail when confronting Riona at the higher-ups’ office complex 108.
  • Wedding attire — wears a white dress and matching coat, with a veil supplied by Shoko and a bouquet supplied by Mei Mei 219.

Personality

Chisei is reserved rather than naturally hostile. She generally treats classmates, teachers, and ordinary people politely, while directing her sharpest mockery at people who provoke her. Her habit of hiding her hands inside her sleeves gives her a sense of security. Gojo repeatedly draws stronger emotional reactions from her than almost anyone else 19 21 23 36.

She is frugal and openly interested in money, carefully balancing rent and living expenses while saving her earnings. She dislikes being interrupted while eating or counting money, appreciates free accommodation and supplies, and readily recognizes the commercial value of her abilities. Her admiration for Mei Mei grows from their shared interest in profitable work 13 18 19 22 28.

Her wish for an ordinary life is rooted in fear of dying and a determination to preserve the Miwa lineage. She wants to marry, raise descendants, and pass down the family’s charm rather than sacrifice herself for Jujutsu Society. Nevertheless, she repeatedly risks her safety to protect civilians and later refuses to abandon the critically wounded Gojo 14 15 45 46 47.

Chisei takes pride in the work behind her strength, distinguishing herself from Gojo’s natural genius. Her initial belief that she could handle everything alone is shaken by Yamato Kaho’s murder, which exposes the consequences of using jujutsu in ordinary people’s lives 8 30.

Her independence develops into open resistance to institutional control. She refuses demands to disclose her family’s secrets or abandon outside work, threatens defection when the higher-ups try to imprison her, and uses her later business and intelligence networks to obstruct their schemes. She remains a registered sorcerer rather than accepting their characterization of her as a potential curse user 103 104 105 107 108.

Her reluctance to act as an indiscriminate healer is partly ethical: because her Reverse Cursed Technique works only once per person, she fears that promised resurrection would encourage sorcerers to treat themselves as expendable. Her resistance to serving the higher-ups does not prevent her from later working long hours beside Shoko to save critically injured sorcerers 91 149.

Although the Miwa family becomes her central reason for living after Tatsuki’s death, she gradually accepts that she can rely on her companions. Riona’s final entrustment gives her courage to stop retreating from her own feelings, and Nanami helps her separate love from the duties she treats as a lifelong career 128 147.

Abilities & Skills

Jujutsu: Divination

Chisei reads the past and future from traces left by a person, commonly handwriting. A drawing can also provide a usable trace 2 25 28 33.

  • Predicts that Suguru Geto will reach a life-changing crossroads within a year 2.
  • Extracts personal history and future connections for sale as intelligence 25 28 33.
  • Foresees a prolonged connection between Megumi Fushiguro and Gojo beginning while Megumi is still young 33.
  • Cannot read her own fortune 4.
  • Can read collateral relatives’ fates despite the usual restriction on reading members of her own family. She identifies herself as the third person in Miwa history with this exceptional gift 11.
  • Her power gradually dulls her perception of her surroundings, a consequence she fears could make her indifferent 7.
  • Her readings cover a longer span and are more accurate than those Miwa Riona could produce 28.
  • Recognizes that Asō Yoshino’s indistinct future a month ahead suggests imminent death and requests a recent handwriting sample from Yoshino’s fiancé to investigate further 57.
  • Uses Divination to determine that an apparently successful physical strike has not truly injured Mahito, helping her identify the importance of his soul 139.

Divination Reversal

At a sufficiently high level, Miwa divination can alter a target’s past and future rather than merely observe them 19.

  • Requires the user to surpass the target in both cursed energy and jujutsu strength 19.
  • Chisei threatens to make Riona retroactively begin losing her hair at age ten, but does not carry out the alteration 19.
  • She estimates that affecting someone at Riona’s level would require only several days of cursed-energy recovery, rather than years of her life 19.
  • Altering matters of life and death can consume lifespan; she notes that even changing a laboratory mouse’s fate could cost several days of her life 52.
  • Attempting to reverse Toji’s fatal fate and then canceling that intervention produces the opposing cursed-energy applications behind her Reverse Cursed Technique breakthrough, rather than a completed lifespan-consuming fate alteration 52.

Jujutsu: Judgment

Also described as sacrificial jujutsu, Judgment imposes a delayed sentence under specified conditions by consuming bodily tissue 4 15 25.

  • Sacrificial material: Uses hair, fingernail clippings, and blood. Tissue must have been separated recently and remain “alive” 4 5 15.
  • Cost scaling: The required sacrifice depends on the cursed energy of both user and target. At her early demonstrated level, one fingernail clipping could sentence a semi-Grade 1 cursed spirit to death; five clippings merely cause Gojo to be splashed with vegetable water 4.
  • Conditional injury: Severs an assailant’s lower leg when he steps forward after her warning 5.
  • Restraint: Temporarily freezes Toji with two hairs, though his physical strength tears the effect apart 15.
  • Self-enhancement: Sacrifices blood to increase her speed, strength, and durability. Her heavily enhanced fight against Toji approaches its limit after roughly fifteen minutes 15 16.
  • Rapid relocation: Disappears from confrontations and reappears elsewhere; Gojo identifies this as a condition-based judgment effect 25 35.
  • Self-imposed immobility: Passes Judgment on herself to remain in place while clinging to Toji, indirectly preventing him from moving without targeting his resistant body 47.
  • Limits: Even predicting Toji’s attacks does not let her physical body keep pace indefinitely with his Heavenly Restriction 15.
  • Blood-activated restraint against Gojo: Bites her lip to activate her technique while her hands are restrained and immobilizes Gojo, although he subsequently breaks free 65 66.
  • Visible relocation residue: Leaves red cursed residue behind when teleporting away from Gojo 72.
  • Practical restrictions: Cannot simply make documents leave an archive on their own, requiring Nanami’s assistance to obtain information 87.
  • Special Grade restraint: Immobilizes a domain-capable cursed spirit with hair and later freezes a mushroom-shaped Special Grade long enough to strike its exposed weak point 123 138.
  • Spatial interception: After tracking Gojo with Red Path Return and Transcription, uses Judgment to swap him back following his teleportation 198.

Inner-Demon Manifestation

The Miwa family’s strongest offensive jujutsu awakens fear and can rob a target of reason. Chisei first manifests a ghostlike apparition that grips Toji’s throat 46.

  • Requires large amounts of blood and cursed energy, making it a last resort during her early confrontation with Toji 46.
  • Is not a cursed spirit. Chisei initially describes it as an illusion-like manifestation of inner demons, but later reveals that this explanation conceals its true nature 46 124.
  • The Inverted Spear of Heaven passes through the apparition without dispelling its suffocating effect 46.
  • Chisei admits that she is not strong enough to keep Toji restrained for long at that stage 46.
  • The shadow is a medium for communication with Emperor Sutoku and a manifestation of the Miwa family’s soul power. Ordinary cursed energy and jujutsu cannot touch it, although attacks capable of affecting souls can injure it and Chisei 124 139.
  • Can carry and wield Profound Sky Severer, including while inside an enemy’s domain 123.
  • Can merge with Chisei, allowing her to take its weapon directly; the narration describes the convergence of illusion and reality as the Miwa family’s most powerful Judgment jujutsu 123.
  • Can seize and affect an opponent’s soul. Chisei releases her control over the mysterious figure’s soul when she withdraws the shadow after being injured 124.
  • Exposing it creates a vulnerability against Mahito: when he grabs the shadow’s head, Chisei experiences intense pain inside her skull 139.

Jujutsu: Red Path Return

A tracking technique that produces a red thread indicating a direction 34 46.

  • Traces a cursed tool from a fragment of its wrapping 34.
  • Leads Chisei after Toji into the Tombs of the Star Corridor 46.
  • During the wrapping-based reading, the thread points east, although she tells Toji the tool is west; the passage does not explain the discrepancy 34.
  • Can be applied directly to Gojo and combined with Transcription to track his spatial teleportation before Judgment returns him to her 198.

Movement-Time Manipulation

Chisei develops a technique involving adjustments to movement time and demonstrates a new ability while Gojo’s body suddenly locks up during their training 91 92.

  • Can adjust her own movement time to evade an attack such as Hollow Purple 92.
  • Explicitly states that she cannot prevent Gojo from casting Hollow Purple through this method 92.
  • Uses Gojo, a Special Grade sorcerer, as her first test subject, while denying that she developed the ability specifically to counter him 92.

Jujutsu: Transcription

A technique Chisei learns after receiving Riona’s blessing. It reads thoughts and interferes with the instructions transmitted from the brain to the nerves, changing the body’s actions 140.

  • Allows her to anticipate opponents’ intended attacks before they execute them 140.
  • Can tamper with movement commands, creating the risk that opponents will strike their own allies 140.
  • Helps her evade Mahito’s attacks and recognize Hanami’s attempt to escape 140.
  • Works in conjunction with Red Path Return during training to intercept spatial teleportation 198.

Cursed Energy Control and Martial Arts

Chisei combines exceptionally strong cursed energy with extensive childhood combat training 8 19 30.

  • Splits a tiny wooden block into four uniform pieces with finer precision than the class exercise requires 23.
  • Exorcises a Grade 2 cursed spirit with a punch without using Judgment to enhance her body 29 30.
  • Tears apart one of Geto’s Grade 1 cursed spirits during a schoolyard fight 36.
  • Forms ranged arrows from red cursed energy during her assessment 38.
  • Uses Black Flash to crater the ground and obstruct Toji’s footing and vision 47.
  • Sees through a Grade 1 curse user’s illusion and strikes the real body 9.
  • Creates a Curtain to isolate a confrontation 9.
  • Detects Toji’s presence in her apartment despite his complete lack of cursed energy 14.
  • Breaks Riona’s arm during their adult confrontation and tears through barriers at the higher-ups’ office complex 108.
  • Shapes large amounts of red cursed energy into a blade-like extension around her arm, cutting through a Special Grade cursed spirit’s body 123.
  • Coordinates with Nanami’s Ratio Technique to exploit a Special Grade cursed spirit’s weak point and destroy it with her scythe 138.
  • Her unrestricted combat output endangers nearby allies, making solitary combat preferable when she unleashes her full strength 139.
  • Injures Mahito’s soul with her scythe, leaving a wound he cannot immediately regenerate 139.
  • Survives combat with Mahito and Hanami, although her cursed energy is nearly exhausted afterward 139 140 141.

Healing Research

Chisei seeks a way to combine the Miwa family’s delayed-effect jujutsu with healing after Shoko Ieiri saves her life 17 30 31.

  • Her blessing for Kaho forces an output of positive energy that backfires and costs some of her lifespan; its ultimate effect is uncertain 8 30.
  • Shoko’s explanation does not immediately teach her Reverse Cursed Technique 31.
  • Her later experiments cause laboratory mice to die faster, prompting her to reconsider the method 41.
  • She saves the gravely wounded Toji through an accidental application of Reverse Cursed Technique, identified afterward by Shoko 49 50 52.

Her breakthrough occurs when she tries to alter Toji’s fate, then immediately applies cursed energy again to cancel the intervention because she does not want to lose years of her life. The two applications share an origin but have opposite effects, allowing them to fuse and generate positive energy. Toji’s fatal abdominal wound heals without continuous cursed-energy input, but his destroyed hand remains lost 52.

  • External healing: Can heal other people, unlike Gojo’s initially self-directed Reverse Cursed Technique 52.
  • Lifespan preservation: Saving Toji through this method does not shorten her lifespan 52.
  • One-use limitation: Can use her Reverse Cursed Technique on the same person only once 91.
  • Increasing proficiency: Her control and familiarity improve substantially after the breakthrough 91.
  • Emergency reliance: When Geto is critically injured and Shoko is absent, Gojo seeks Chisei as the available Reverse Cursed Technique user, and she promises to save him 87.
  • Medical work: Later treats sorcerers with fatal injuries alongside Shoko for long hours, substantially easing Shoko’s workload 149.

Domain Capability and Family Secrets

Chisei states that she became strong enough to deploy a domain, and that reaching this stage revealed additional Miwa family secrets. The available account does not identify her domain’s name or effects 129.

  • The family’s secret encompasses more than resurrection: sacrifices can also increase a person’s cursed energy 129.
  • Sacrificial material can extend beyond the user’s own tissue to multiple people, ordinary humans, and cursed spirits. This is knowledge she discloses, not evidence that she personally performs such sacrifices 129.
  • Recognizes the Miwa family’s Counter-Curse on A Ming and understands its significance to the investigation, but no use of that curse by Chisei is established in that encounter 124.

Intelligence and Business Management

Chisei develops fortune-telling into a large-scale intelligence enterprise, combining her technique with commercial connections and conventional information gathering 28 105 107.

  • Consults Mei Mei before accepting Kato Teru’s offer to sell information about the Three Great Families, rather than immediately taking his deposit 72.
  • Establishes a company after graduation and expands the Qianxing club brand from Ginza into Kyoto, Osaka, Nagasaki, Sapporo, Kochi, and other locations 105.
  • Collects information through exchanges between legitimate society and the underworld 105.
  • Uses her network to gain leverage over the higher-ups and hinder their plans 107.
  • Maintains intelligence capabilities within Jujutsu Society as well as the ordinary world 130.
  • Delegates investigations and security work to Toji and considers Kasumi Miwa suitable for organizational support and management in Kyoto 108 165 183.
  • Directs Mei Mei and Toji to locate scattered members of the Miwa bloodline after learning that they are being targeted for sacrifice 198.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Sun and Moon Charm / Omamori — black on one side and white on the other, suspended on a red cord. Possession establishes the Miwa family head’s authority 3.
  • Inherited kimono — her father’s altered clothing, retained because little else remains of the family 21.
  • Sunglasses — keeps spare pairs; Gojo’s own glasses are too dark for her to see through 21.
  • Custom Jujutsu High uniforms — receives three spring/autumn sets with her distinctive blue-gray belt 37.
  • Flip phone — a gift from Gojo, who saves his number under “The most handsome big brother Gojo” 22 45.
  • Fortune-telling supplies — backpack, tablecloth, paper, and pens used at her weekend stall 7.
  • Profound Sky Severer — a Special Grade cursed tool shaped like an enormous scythe. Normally carried by the Miwa shadow, it can be wielded by either the shadow or Chisei. She uses it to cleave a cursed spirit’s domain apart and later injure Mahito’s soul 123 139.
  • Dagger — carried at her waist during her private meeting with Tengen 201.
  • Wedding ring — a red gemstone ring placed on her finger by Satoru during their ceremony 219.

Relationships

  • Miwa Tatsuki — deceased father and predecessor as family head. His training and instruction to protect ordinary humans shape her priorities. She visits his grave with Gojo on the first anniversary of his death and regards her upbringing with him as a source of happiness rather than pity. Yuto’s note later confirms that Tatsuki’s illness was caused by a Counter-Curse 3 8 20 30 83 155.
  • Satoru Gojo — childhood acquaintance, recruiter, rescuer, frequent sparring partner, and eventual husband. Their insults coexist with growing trust; she warns him of danger and fights to buy time after his near-fatal injury. A flash-forward depicts continued intimate teasing years later 12 17 36 40 45 47. She initially rejects his romantic pursuit, partly because she overhears his and Geto’s plan to make her fall for him. Their long companionship eventually becomes a relationship after she approaches him on his birthday, and she later explicitly reassures him that she loves him. They expect a child and marry after a private cruise 104 105 153 155 162 212 219.
  • Suguru Geto — initially treated as the more considerate of the recruiting pair. She gives him a free warning about his future; he later helps protect her during the confrontation with Toji. When he is critically wounded during a promotion mission, she promises Gojo that she will save him. He remains a close friend and mobilizes the Jujutsu Empowerment Department to search for Riona 2 6 18 46 87 128.
  • Miwa Riona — distant branch-family relative, classmate, and longtime rival. Chisei rejects her claim to the family charm and recognizes the resentment behind her friendly public manner. Their conflict continues into adulthood, when Riona interferes with her businesses through the higher-ups 11 19 20 22 108. Chisei later acknowledges that she understood Riona and that Riona never truly intended to hurt her or those she cared about. Riona’s final blessing gives her Transcription and renewed courage; Chisei presides over her funeral and resolves to find and kill her assailant 127 129 130 140 147.
  • Miwa Yuto — Riona’s father and Chisei’s uncle, whose argument with Tatsuki contributes to her suspicion of branch-family involvement in her father’s death. His suicide note confirms that his Counter-Curse caused Tatsuki’s illness; Chisei also learns that he had already shortened his own life by changing his fate 11 20 155.
  • Gojo Yu — her father’s acquaintance, Satoru’s father, and the architect of her recruitment. She objects to being used politically but is moved by his belated birthday gift of 100,000 yen. He later officiates at her wedding while explicitly honoring her family 26 27 219.
  • Mei Mei — intelligence-business partner who supplies clients and connections. Chisei’s divination complements Mei Mei’s information network. Mei Mei becomes a shareholder in her company, advises her on information deals, and supplies her wedding bouquet 25 28 32 72 105 219.
  • Shoko Ieiri — healer and upperclassman whom Chisei thanks for treating her injuries and consults about Reverse Cursed Technique. Shoko identifies her accidental healing breakthrough, later works alongside her treating gravely injured sorcerers, and gives her a veil for her wedding 30 31 52 149 219.
  • Kento Nanami — classmate whose composure, practical advice, and kindness impress her. She privately considers him a stable candidate to marry into the Miwa family 26 41. Their adult relationship is explicitly nonromantic and grounded in longstanding trust. They cooperate in intelligence work and combat, and she declares that he will be her child’s godfather 87 138 139 147.
  • Yu Haibara — friendly classmate who openly admires her cursed-energy control and combat ability. He remains part of her social circle and reacts with surprise when he realizes that she and Gojo have become a couple 22 23 30 155.
  • Yamato Kaho — fellow fortune-telling vendor whom Chisei rescues from assault. Her murder leaves Chisei grieving and questioning her approach to protecting ordinary people 5 7 8.
  • Toji Fushiguro — former bounty hunter pursuing her who later becomes her hired intelligence gatherer and muscle after she saves his life. He also becomes a shareholder in her company, handles business security, investigates targets, and is assigned to remain hidden as a contingency against the Prison Realm 15 33 50 105 108 183 202.
  • Eikura Yohei — first-year homeroom teacher and field-exercise supervisor 22 29 30.
  • Yuki Tsukumo — shareholder in the company Chisei establishes after graduation 105.
  • Kasumi Miwa — daughter of Chisei’s cousin Hana and a younger relative whom she treats as family. Chisei sympathizes with Kasumi’s need to support her younger brothers, encourages her professional development, and considers putting her in charge of the Kyoto shops while worrying about the danger her bloodline creates 119 165.
  • Megumi and Tsumiki Fushiguro — children whose safety becomes intertwined with the Miwa family investigation. Chisei fights a Special Grade cursed spirit threatening Tsumiki and later asks Gojo not to tell either sibling that A Ming’s curse belongs to the Miwa family 123 124.
  • Kamo Tetsuya — opponent who intervenes in her fight with Riona and later attacks her using spatial jujutsu. Chisei investigates his connection to sacrifices of the Miwa bloodline and ultimately identifies the person controlling his body as her target 108 157 198 201.
  • Tengen — source of information concerning the Prison Realm. Chisei meets him privately and plans a later visit with Gojo to ask about unresolved matters, including the Gojo Clan’s cursed object 201 202.
  • Kobayashi Muro — younger sorcerer who brings her cookies with classmates to thank her for her medical work and confesses his longtime admiration, which she receives warmly 149.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Recruitment and Kaho’s Murder

Chisei initially refuses Gojo and Geto’s invitation, invoking the main family’s injunction never to return to Jujutsu Society. She intends to support herself through ordinary work and weekend fortune-telling, charging 50,000 yen per question 1 2 4.

After she uses Judgment against Kaho’s assailant, Kaho is murdered by a hired curse user. Chisei blames her intervention for exposing Kaho to retaliation. The incident destroys her confidence that she can separate ordinary life from Jujutsu Society simply by living outside it 5 7 8.

Capture-Alive Bounty and Enrollment

A curse user reveals that Chisei carries a 200-million-yen bounty, later confirmed to require her capture alive. Toji’s pursuit demonstrates that her existing strength cannot guarantee her safety outside Jujutsu High 9 15 16 20.

She finally enrolls for protection and to oppose the branch family’s ambitions. Her admission is politically contentious: half the higher-ups support it and half oppose it, while Riona’s admission proceeds without difficulty. Chisei’s special-colored uniform further marks her as someone under observation 20 22 37.

Clan Politics and Intelligence Work

Gojo Yu admits that he arranged her recruitment to test the Zenin and Kamo clans’ attitudes toward the Miwa family and divert some attention from Satoru. Chisei explicitly refuses to become a pawn in the Three Great Families’ schemes 27.

Her partnership with Mei Mei turns fortune-telling into marketable intelligence. One assignment brings her into contact with Megumi Fushiguro and reveals his future connection to Gojo 28 32 33.

Toji claims that someone from the Gojo Clan’s older generation placed her bounty. Chisei initially considers whether Gojo Yu staged it, but she and Satoru conclude that the claim is unlikely; this claim does not establish the sponsor’s identity 34 35.

Her intelligence work expands into investigations involving ordinary clients. While examining Asō Yoshino’s concerns about her fiancé, she discovers signs that Yoshino may die within a month, asks for the fiancé’s handwriting, and learns that Gojo will handle the arrest during their first joint assignment. She later considers Kato Teru’s offer of information about the Three Great Families in consultation with Mei Mei 57 72.

Star Plasma Vessel Crisis

Chisei helps thwart the Time Vessel Association’s plan at Naha Airport, guarding four unconscious attackers after taking an employee’s access card by force. She later senses danger at Jujutsu High and witnesses Toji gravely wound Gojo. Toji tells her that her earlier tracking assistance helped him find the Inverted Spear of Heaven 44 45.

She pursues Toji, joins Geto in protecting Riko Amanai, and spends large amounts of blood to delay the attacker. When direct restraint proves inadequate, she immobilizes herself while clinging to him. Gojo’s return after learning Reverse Cursed Technique ends her desperate attempt to hold Toji back 46 47 48.

After Gojo defeats Toji, Chisei saves the wounded man and offers him work gathering intelligence and serving as her hired muscle. Gojo accepts her decision but warns that he will kill Toji if he causes trouble again, demanding ten dessert-shop outings in exchange for keeping her secret 49 50.

Shoko subsequently determines that Chisei saved Toji through an accidental Reverse Cursed Technique breakthrough. Her attempt to change his fate and then cancel that change fused opposing applications of cursed energy, allowing her to heal him without sacrificing lifespan 52.

Grade 1 Advancement and Defiance of the Higher-Ups

After Chisei becomes Grade 1, Riona reveals that Gojo has been assigned to monitor her. Although initially unsettled, Chisei decides to trust him and wait for an explanation. Before they can discuss it, Gojo brings news of Geto’s critical injuries during his promotion mission; with Shoko away, Chisei promises to save him 87.

Her increasing strength and healing ability intensify the higher-ups’ interest in controlling her. She resists serving as their unrestricted healer, citing both her opposition to their demands and the one-use-per-person limitation of her technique. Meanwhile, she develops new applications involving movement time 91 92.

The confrontation escalates when the higher-ups order her to stop outside work, reveal Miwa family jujutsu, and submit to their authority under threat of imprisonment. Chisei refuses, warns that further coercion could make her defect, and reminds them that Jujutsu Society requested the Miwa family’s return. Gojo later admits that he accepted the monitoring assignment but reported nothing, and she invites him to join her in throwing Jujutsu Society into chaos 103 104.

Business Empire and Adult Sorcerer Career

Following graduation, Chisei establishes a company with Mei Mei, Yuki Tsukumo, and Toji as shareholders. Beginning with a Ginza club, she builds the Qianxing chain into a nationwide business and intelligence network. As a freelance Grade 1 sorcerer, she takes mandatory quarterly assessment missions and otherwise favors difficult assignments with substantial rewards 105.

Nine years after declaring opposition to the higher-ups, she remains in conflict with them while using her network to disrupt their plans. When Riona interferes with her businesses, Chisei storms the higher-ups’ office complex, breaks Riona’s arm, and rejects Kamo Tetsuya’s attempt to settle the confrontation with an apology 107 108.

Despite Geto’s insistence that her abilities exceed Special Grade requirements, she refuses promotion because of the attention it would attract. She also becomes involved with the next generation of Jujutsu High students, introducing herself as Grade 1 and assisting with their instruction 113 114 115.

Yasohachi Bridge and Riona’s Death

At Yasohachi Bridge, Chisei protects Tsumiki and confronts a Special Grade cursed spirit capable of deploying a domain. She summons the Miwa shadow, merges with it, and uses Profound Sky Severer to split the domain and kill the spirit. A mysterious figure then confronts her over the Miwa family’s secret 123 124.

The figure damages her soul and escapes. Gojo arrives and brings her to the afflicted A Ming, whose markings she recognizes as the Miwa family’s Counter-Curse. She asks him to conceal that connection from Megumi and Tsumiki, and accepts his reassurance that she can place more trust in him 124.

After Riona’s death, Chisei asserts the Miwa family’s authority during a meeting with the higher-ups and secures an opportunity to investigate the Kamo Clan openly. She publicly acknowledges Riona’s ability and expresses the hope that her next life will be free of Jujutsu Society 127.

Chisei explains that Riona’s dying Judgment could transcend life and death and that the Miwa family’s secrets include increasing cursed energy through sacrifice. She recognizes that her rival ultimately trusted her to shoulder the family’s future. At Riona’s lavish funeral, she excludes ordinary Miwa relatives from the gathering, places a white-rose effigy in the coffin, and rejects the Kamo Clan’s suggestion that it should have arranged the ceremony. Afterward, she resolves to use her intelligence network to find and kill Riona’s assailant 129 130.

Wakayama Battles and Family Revelations

Working with Nanami, Chisei destroys a mushroom-shaped Special Grade cursed spirit by combining his Ratio Technique with Judgment and her scythe. She then battles Mahito, discovers that ordinary physical damage does not truly injure him, and succeeds in cutting his soul 138 139.

When Hanami joins the confrontation, Chisei uses Transcription, acquired through Riona’s blessing, to anticipate attacks and interfere with the opponents’ coordination. Mahito and Hanami ultimately escape after Hanami’s flowers weaken her fighting spirit. Nearly depleted of cursed energy, she arranges Nanami’s medical transport and returns to Wakayama, where Gojo admits his worry and she reassures him 140 141.

Her confrontation with Yuto exposes the danger posed by gathering the scattered Miwa bloodline into an easily targeted group. Later, news of his suicide brings her back to Tokyo. His note confirms that his Counter-Curse caused Tatsuki’s illness and that his own fate alteration had shortened his life. The Kamo Clan head’s appearance in the visitor log and cursed residue linked to the Wakayama incident prompt Chisei to investigate the Kamo Clan 144 155.

Relationship with Gojo

Gojo’s long pursuit continues through Chisei’s adult career, frequently disrupting her attempts to find a husband willing to marry into the Miwa family. Her eventual recognition that love need not be another duty to manage allows her to approach him directly on his birthday. By the following chapter, their friends recognize them as a couple 105 147 153 155.

Chisei affirms that Satoru’s protection was never merely a product of the clans’ proposed alliance. She supports Jujutsu High because it matters to him and Geto, helping select appropriate cursed tools for their students. When Gojo admits insecurity, she reassures him of her love; they become intimate, and he expresses his desire to marry her immediately 134 159 162.

First-Year Crises and the Miwa Bloodline Investigation

After Toji reports a cursed womb at a juvenile detention center, Chisei discovers that the first-years have already been dispatched with an unfamiliar assistant manager. She rushes there with Toji, finds Megumi injured beside Sukuna controlling Yuji’s body, and strikes Sukuna. Yuji briefly regains control, speaks to Megumi, and collapses from his grievous wounds 176.

She later joins Nanami and Yuji in investigating deaths at a Kanagawa movie theater. Recognizing Mahito’s work in the transformed bodies, she sends Toji an image of an unharmed student seen leaving the screening. He identifies the boy as Junpei Yoshino, prompting her to investigate what happened to him 183.

To counter spatial jujutsu connected to sacrifices of Miwa descendants, Chisei practices with Gojo and successfully retrieves him after teleportation by combining Red Path Return, Transcription, and Judgment. She also asks Mei Mei and Toji to locate the scattered bloodline and acknowledges that she has considered restoring the Miwa family’s position among the Four Great Families 198.

She consults Tengen about the Prison Realm, prioritizing the threat posed by the person controlling Kamo Tetsuya’s body over her other unanswered questions. After learning that the seal can be undone, she assigns Toji to remain hidden and prepare to free anyone imprisoned inside, preserving him as a surprise contingency. She plans to return to Tengen with Gojo afterward to ask about the Gojo Clan’s cursed object 201 202.

Toji’s search eventually locates a family whose father descends from the Miwa branch line and adopted the surname Tsuchimura to live safely among ordinary people. Their three-year-old child has the family’s characteristic red eyes 211.

Pregnancy, Cruise, and Wedding

As their planned wedding approaches, Chisei and Gojo are expecting a child. She works to clear her schedule for the ceremony and initially anticipates postponing their honeymoon until after the birth. Gojo instead surprises her with a private cruise, wanting them to spend time together as lovers rather than as jujutsu sorcerers 212.

After two weeks away, Gojo has her dress in white and leads her off the ship to a surprise wedding on the dock. Their friends, students, teachers, relatives, and colleagues gather; Shoko supplies her veil, Mei Mei supplies her bouquet, and Tatsuki’s portrait stands beside Gojo Yu. Yu honors the Miwa family as he conducts the ceremony, Chisei accepts the marriage, and Satoru places a red gemstone ring on her finger. She reveals that she has kept her betrothal gift for him 219.
