When Lin Guang and his companions arrived in Stone Town, they heard that the Eevee brothers, the four sons of a wealthy local man, would be holding an evolution garden party in half a month.
They would also provide the evolution stones needed by Pokémon Trainers attending the party free of charge.

Just then, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki noticed a little boy sneaking out of Stone Town with an Eevee in his arms.
So Kaguya Ōtsutsuki interrupted Lin Guang and Mio Takamiya's bickering.
"Look, there seems to be a little boy over there running out of town with a Pokémon in his arms. He's acting a little suspicious, too."
Hearing Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's words, Lin Guang and Mio Takamiya looked over. Sure enough, they saw a little boy running out of town with a Pikachu in his arms.
Mio Takamiya asked with some concern, "Should we follow him and take a look?"
Lin Guang saw that the little boy's clothes were expensive. He definitely wasn't from an ordinary family, and with an Eevee in his arms, he was very likely a child of the richest family in Stone Town.
"If you want to follow him, let's go."
Without alerting the little boy, Lin Guang led Mio Takamiya and Kaguya Ōtsutsuki after him all the way to the forest outside Stone Town.
The little boy put Eevee down and said earnestly, "Eevee, be good and hide here. Don't let my brothers find you, or they'll force you to evolve."
