Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Armored, power-suppressed state 105 106 The Ten-Tails’ Tailed Beast Bomb cracks his armor but leaves Boros virtually unharmed. While still armored, he easily repels Metal Bat and Puri-Puri Prisoner.
Released Power State 106 107 Shatters the remaining armor himself, removing its suppression. His body develops glowing blue lines, his hair rises, and his chest eye becomes visible. Overwhelms an exhausted Tatsumaki.
Meteoric Burst Form 110 Uses internal energy as propulsion, raising strength and speed beyond biological limits. His body turns white, and his movements become difficult even for Bai Ye’s Rinnegan to track.
Post-defeat recovery 114 115 Exhausts his energy through the Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon. Bai Ye supplies enough energy to save him; after several days, Boros has recovered more than half his reserves.
Brief return to peak output 120 Reactivates Meteoric Burst despite incomplete recovery, briefly restoring peak power to destroy incoming meteorites. Cannot sustain the form for long.
S-Class Rank 20 129 Enters the Hero Association without taking the Hero Certification Exam. This is an organizational rank, not an increase in combat power.
Power merger with his past self — agreed 165 His counterpart from five years earlier agrees to transfer all his power to him. Their identical energy makes merging possible, but the passage does not show the completed transfer or quantify the increase.

Background / History

Origin and the Prophecy

Boros’s species evolved on a harsh planet where the strong preyed on the weak, developing exceptional vitality and natural regeneration. Boros possesses the greatest physical capabilities, healing ability, and latent energy of his entire species 89 109.

His undefeated conquests left him without a satisfying opponent. A fortune teller predicted that he would find a warrior capable of giving him an evenly matched battle, prompting a twenty-year search for Earth. He pursued the prediction even while suspecting it might have been a lie intended to make him leave 89 105.

As leader of the Dark Matter Thieves, Boros challenged powerful fighters on other planets and could destroy planets at his whim. Although personally interested in combat rather than wealth, he allowed his followers to plunder conquered worlds to support the crew 91 121.

Invasion of Earth

The Dark Matter Thieves arrive above A City and reduce it to rubble with their spaceship’s bombardment. Bai Ye’s advance warning allows the citizens to be evacuated before the attack 81 101.

Bai Ye and Tatsumaki confront Boros in the control room. Boros welcomes them and asks their names rather than immediately attacking. When Bai Ye summons the Ten-Tails, its immense energy convinces Boros that the foretold battle has finally arrived 105.

After the Ten-Tails’ attack breaches the spaceship, the combatants fall to the ground. Boros repels intervening heroes, releases his power, and nearly lands a decisive blow on the exhausted Tatsumaki before Bai Ye rescues her 105 106 107.

Battle with Bai Ye

Boros survives Bai Ye’s Limbo attacks and thousand-armed wooden Buddha, then destroys the Buddha with an energy blast from his chest. In response to Bai Ye’s growing power, he activates Meteoric Burst 108 109 110.

His regeneration lets him endure Truth-Seeking Orbs, Light Fang, lightning, and repeated dismemberment by Kamui-enhanced weapons. He eventually punches through Bai Ye’s strongest Majestic Attire: Susanoo, forcing Bai Ye to avoid the blow with Intangibility 111 112.

For the final exchange, Boros commits all his remaining energy to the Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon. Bai Ye moves the battle into the Origin Ball Space and counters with a Final Truth-Seeking Orb powered by energy gathered from humanity. The orb overwhelms the cannon, and the collision destroys the space while leaving the real world unaffected 113 114.

Both fighters are grievously wounded. Boros accepts defeat and thanks Bai Ye for fulfilling his wish, expecting to die. Bai Ye instead restores himself with Izanagi, supplies Boros with energy to restart his regeneration, and takes him out of the collapsing space 114.

Becoming a Hero

Boros accepts Bai Ye’s offer of companionship on the condition that he never harm humans. Without Boros noticing, Bai Ye places him under a system-modified Illusion Technique that enforces that promise if he breaks it 118.

He helps protect the Hero Association headquarters by destroying meteorites created by Bai Ye, then offers his spaceship’s treasure as compensation for A City’s destruction. The relief plan includes one million yen for each refugee and funding for additional housing 120 121.

Once headquarters has settled after reconstruction, Boros officially joins as S-Class Rank 20 without a hero alias. He refuses “Ruler of the Universe,” arguing that the title no longer fits him after discovering stronger beings on Earth 129.

His hero work includes killing the Tiger-level Bear Man with one punch and volunteering for another mission immediately afterward. Civilians and Association staff remain frightened of him because Bai Ye’s Infinite Tsukuyomi showed the world most of their battle 115.

Life on Earth

Boros settles next door to Bai Ye. While choosing a house, he accidentally tears off Saitama’s door and sends it into Saitama’s head; he apologizes and offers a gemstone worth ten million cosmic credits as compensation 126.

He reunites with Roris after twenty years apart and acknowledges that his obsession with fighting caused him to neglect her feelings. He promises not to control her movements anymore. Both siblings choose to stay on Earth 142.

Boros also participates in the Hero Association’s hot-spring celebration and is selected as a sparring opponent for Genos under King’s remote control. Bai Ye specifies that he should hold back and remain armored during the training 143 157 159.

Journey into the Past

Bai Ye chooses Boros as his companion for a journey five years into the past. The system assigns both of them identities as transfer students at Ueno High School, where Boros’s appearance initially alarms the guards and students. Their enrollment is confirmed, and they enter Senior Class 1 160 161.

Together with Psykos, they found the Monster Research Society. Boros later obtains leave and pilots his spaceship to the galaxy where he remembers traveling five years earlier, successfully locating his past self 164.

He tells his counterpart about Earth, his defeat, and the existence of even stronger fighters there. His past self agrees to give him all his power rather than spend another five years searching for Earth 165.

Boros subsequently helps Bai Ye establish control over the Monster Association. He crushes a protesting monster and throws its corpse through the surrounding rock, intimidating the weaker members, though the Dragon-level executives remain unconvinced 168.

Appearance

  • Build: A towering, approximately human-shaped figure standing 2.4 meters tall 115.
  • Head: One large eye, elfin ears, and long, pointed pink hair 88 105 115.
  • Clothing: Bulky power-suppressing armor and a red cape 89 115.
  • Released Power State: Glowing blue veinlike lines, raised hair, and a visible blue eye on his chest 107.
  • Meteoric Burst Form: His body becomes white except for the veinlike markings 110.

Personality

Boros values strength above justice and initially regards domination as the natural order. His conquests show little concern for other lives, and he considers the weak subject to the will of the strong. This outlook also shapes his initial assumption that even friendship between unequal fighters is merely charity from the stronger party 91 116 142.

His desire for a worthy opponent outweighs his interest in conquest or treasure. He greets Bai Ye politely, becomes increasingly excited as the battle escalates, and accepts the prospect of death once he believes he has experienced the fight he sought 105 109 114 121.

After losing, Boros admits defeat openly and undertakes hero work to make amends. He also reassesses his treatment of Roris, acknowledging that his fixation on combat made him controlling and inattentive to her feelings 115 117 123 142.

Abilities & Skills

Physical Strength and Speed

Boros relies on direct, high-speed hand-to-hand combat, escalating from overwhelming ordinary opponents to breaking Bai Ye’s strongest defenses 106 107 112.

  • Easily knocks away Metal Bat and buries Puri-Puri Prisoner headfirst in the ground while still armored 106.
  • Shatters Tatsumaki’s psychic barriers and pursues her into the air with an explosive leap 107.
  • In Meteoric Burst, his punches produce shock waves extending several thousand meters 110.
  • His “Moon Kick” sends Bai Ye’s Wood Clone moving at light speed; the clone disintegrates from atmospheric friction 111.
  • Breaks through the combined Susanoo, Ten-Tails, and thousand-armed Buddha construct 111 112.

Regeneration

Boros can concentrate energy to accelerate his species’ already exceptional healing, restoring otherwise fatal damage within seconds 109.

  • Regrows body parts destroyed by Truth-Seeking Orbs and reconnects his body immediately after Light Fang cuts him in half 111.
  • Repeatedly reconstructs himself after Kamui-enhanced weapons tear him apart 112.
  • Recovers from All-Killing Ash Bones only after the affected body has completely turned to ash, delaying regeneration by several seconds 113.
  • Healing requires energy; after exhausting his reserves, he cannot regenerate without Bai Ye’s assistance 114.

Energy Projection

Boros can gather and discharge his immense internal energy as destructive attacks 109 113.

  • Chest energy cannon: Concentrates blue energy toward his chest eye and fires a blast that destroys Bai Ye’s thousand-armed wooden Buddha 109.
  • Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon: Releases all his energy in a finishing attack capable of destroying Earth’s surface 113 129.
  • Limitation: The final cannon leaves him nearly powerless and unable to sustain regeneration 114.
  • Recovery: His energy is renewable, but replenishing his enormous reserves takes time; rest helps restore his fighting condition 115 116 126.

Meteoric Burst Form

Meteoric Burst converts Boros’s internal energy into propulsion, producing strength and speed beyond normal biological limits 110.

  • Fast enough that Bai Ye’s Rinnegan can barely follow his movements 110.
  • Can briefly restore peak offensive output even while his reserves remain depleted 120.
  • Continuously consumes life energy and cannot be sustained for long, even with Boros’s vast reserves 110 111.

Combat Perception and Experience

Boros combines sharp senses with extensive combat experience 107 111 112.

  • Locates Tatsumaki immediately after Bai Ye removes her from his attack, without first seeing where she went 107.
  • Detects incoming danger while looking elsewhere 111.
  • Exploits an opening created when Bai Ye moves Susanoo away from the God Tree 112.
  • Senses nearby familiar energy before identifying it as Roris’s presence 115 142.
  • Does not overcome Bai Ye’s Intangibility; his attacks pass through Bai Ye when the technique is active 108 110 112.

Threat Classification

Assessment Meaning
Above Dragon The narrative’s preferred classification for Boros’s strength 81 103 129.
God-level Disaster The Hero Association officially classifies the invasion this way after witnessing a battle and final attack capable of causing humanity’s extinction 129.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Power-suppressing armor — Restrains Boros’s strength while also providing protection and clothing. The original survives the Ten-Tails’ Tailed Beast Bomb in a cracked state before Boros shatters it himself 106 140.
  • Rebuilt armor — Dr. Kuseno reconstructs the suit from its surviving fragments and Earth metals. Its reduced material purity makes it less effective than the original 140.
  • Spaceship — An enormous vessel over ten thousand meters long, capable of faster-than-light travel. It can evade some detection devices but cannot become invisible to the naked eye 123 164.
  • Power Sphere — The spaceship’s power system draws energy from Boros. His final cannon nearly drains it, leaving the ship unable to maintain normal operation 114.
  • Cosmic treasure — Wealth accumulated through the Dark Matter Thieves’ conquests. Boros offers it as compensation for A City; Bai Ye supervises distribution and retains custody of the remainder with him 121 129.
  • Ship custody — After repairs and treasure distribution, Bai Ye stores the spaceship in the Kamui Dimension with authorization to control it, later returning it for Boros’s search for his past self 156 164.

Relationships

  • Bai Ye — Defeats and saves Boros, then becomes his companion. Boros assists his hero work and later accompanies him into the past. Bai Ye secretly enforces their no-harm-to-humans agreement through an Illusion Technique 114 118 160.
  • Roris — Younger sister. She initially avoids him because of his controlling behavior and destructive methods; their reunion leads him to acknowledge her independence 91 142.
  • Saitama — Initially overlooked as an ordinary-looking human. Boros later recognizes his unfathomable energy and considers him one reason to remain on Earth 106 118 142.
  • Tatsumaki — Invasion opponent whom Boros overwhelms while she is exhausted. He later mistakes her for a child and questions why Earth sends children into battle 107 117.
  • Geryuganshoop — Elite subordinate and psychic combatant aboard the spaceship. Killed by the Ten-Tails during the confrontation in the control room 105.
  • Dr. Kuseno — Rebuilds Boros’s damaged armor 140.
  • King and Genos — Training partners through Bai Ye’s remote-control sparring arrangement. Boros respects King’s unusual abilities despite sensing no energy from him 157 159.
  • Psykos — Fellow founding member of the Monster Research Society in the past timeline 164.
  • Past Boros — His counterpart from five years earlier, who agrees to surrender his power so the future Boros can pursue stronger opponents on Earth 165.

Trivia

  • “Cosmic Dentist” comes from Saitama misunderstanding Boros’s title because “ruler” and “dentist” sound alike in Japanese. Boros is too focused on examining Saitama’s strength to notice the mistake 116 118.
  • His system-arranged student ID explicitly identifies him as an alien, allowing school officials to verify his otherwise alarming enrollment 161.
  • Sleep is not essential for Boros, but sufficient rest helps him remain in peak fighting condition 126.
