Background / History

Before transmigration, A Luo was a female student with little experience of physical labor or practical fighting. She arrived in Lola Reno’s body during a Heavens Arena match, initially unable to recall even her identity or home. After she sheltered beneath a bridge, Fan'en searched for her in his mind-controlled wheelchair and found her before the police did 1 23.

A Luo recognized the setting as the world of Hunter x Hunter. At the time of her arrival, six years remained before the 287th Hunter Exam. With only imperfect memories of the manga to rely on, she planned to avoid its major characters and live an ordinary, comfortable life 1.

The original Lola’s trained body gave her a fighting foundation, but adapting to it proved difficult. By one year after transmigration, she had won only five matches and recovered much of the original girl’s instinctive fighting skill. Personality

A Luo is comfort-loving, sarcastic, and strongly motivated by survival. She dislikes pain, skips training when possible, and plays unconscious to avoid further beatings. Rather than accept Fan'en’s ambition for her to become the strongest fighter, she initially wants good food, leisure, and anonymity 1 6.

Her caution does not eliminate her compassion. Although she knows involvement with Killua could attract dangerous attention, she cannot leave him gravely injured in an alley. She also objects to the Spiders’ disregard for ordinary people and fears that their activities will destroy other families as hers was destroyed 2 10 22 27.

Captivity makes her more guarded and confrontational. She hides resentment behind flattery, bargains for basic comforts, and uses humor and imagined future victories to endure humiliation. Her determination to rescue Malena eventually pushes her to train seriously; threats against her mother provoke an explicit promise to kill the Spiders 19 28 30 43.

Friendship with Killua

A late-night confrontation over stolen desserts turns into a friendship. After discovering Killua wounded among corpses, A Luo brings him home and treats him. His presence makes her training more productive, though his criticism and pranks frequently frustrate her 2 3.

Their companionship lasts two years. When Killua reaches the 200th floor and leaves, A Luo privately plans to move her family away before the main plot begins 6 7.

Family Attack and Captivity

On returning from their farewell, A Luo finds her family’s shop under attack by men seeking the Life Stone. Laisen is killed, Malena is taken, and Fan'en dies after using his Nen avatar to resist. A Luo promises to rescue her mother before the arriving Phantom Troupe knocks her unconscious and takes her away 7 8 9.

Pakunoda’s investigation exposes inconsistencies between her memories and knowledge. Under interrogation, A Luo claims that she previously lived as Kasuga, a Zoldyck butler. This is a cover story combining her genuine rebirth with a fabricated source for her information; Chrollo accepts the rebirth but remains uncertain about her former identity 11 12 13.

Life with the Spiders

A Luo becomes the Troupe’s cook while resisting attempts to uncover her secrets. During Silva’s attack, Chrollo throws her into the battle; she survives with Machi’s treatment. Chrollo subsequently examines her healing and forcibly awakens her Nen before taking her traveling with the group 14 16 17 18 20.

Her knowledge continues to betray her. After she shows no surprise at Skill Hunter stealing Indoor Fish, Chrollo challenges her explanation. Later, he threatens Malena to provoke A Luo’s anger and expose her Nen 26 27 30.

Hisoka Encounter

A Luo knocks herself unconscious to avoid dealing with Chrollo and Hisoka together, but wakes in Hisoka’s custody. She bargains to become his intermediary, cleans his castle under Bungee Gum surveillance, and is forced to deliver his challenge to Chrollo 35 36 37 39.

The ensuing conflict leaves her severely wounded when she is pulled into the Spiders’ attacks as a substitute target. Machi repairs her injuries, and the group retreats to Hisoka’s castle. Surveillance footage from Hisoka’s restaurant killings also makes A Luo a major suspect, undermining her hope of returning to an ordinary life 37 41 42.

Recruitment, Robbery, and the Life Stone

While recovering at the castle, A Luo begins training harder to prepare for Malena’s rescue. She then accompanies the Spiders south, recognizes Shizuku, and helps secure her acceptance of the vacant Number 8 position 43 45.

During the Treasure Festival robbery, she warns Shizuku that Blondie has seen their faces and is escaping. After returning to Meteor City, Chrollo offers freedom and Malena’s location if she either reveals her secrets or helps obtain the Life Stone. She chooses the expedition rather than confession 48 50.
