Izzy reunited Matt with his father before Phantomon and his death-powered Digimon ambushed the group, capturing Kari as the chosen Digimon struggled to fight back. Joe arrived with his newly digivolved Tortoise Chancellormon, who knocked the attackers out of action.

• Izzy revealed Tentomon and explained Digimon to Ishida, while Kabuterimon shattered the office window to let Tai and Matt land.

• Shoutmon charged Zheng Fan to protect Taiki, forcing him back and revealing strength far beyond what his Rookie-level data suggested.
• Taiki asked to join the battle, and Shoutmon struck Ultimate Myotismon with Rock and Roll Singer, shattering his chest before reverting to Ballistamon.
• Ultimate Myotismon retaliated, knocking MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon back to their Rookie forms and injuring the other Digimon until Shamanmon and Ruki also collapsed.
