• Gendo secured SEELE’s cooperation, and the United Nations persuaded countries worldwide to help build the Oxygen Destroyer within twenty-four hours.
• Scientists from across the world assembled the Oxygen Destroyer at NERV, while nations delivered its components and an enormous R30 Bomb arrived as another weapon.
• Limings was moved by humanity’s cooperation, and Asuka volunteered to fire the R30 Bomb from Unit-02 with Unit-00 supporting her.

Zero and the EVAs fought Sahaquiel, whose Belial Splinter-powered defenses overwhelmed their attacks and left Unit-01 badly damaged. As Zero tried to protect Shinji from a mental assault, Galberos-enhanced Sahaquiel trapped him in painful illusions of his past and the loss of his friends.

• Zero, Shinji, Asuka, and Rei prepared the three EVAs to intercept Sahaquiel, while Kaworu watched Rei leave for battle.
• Sahaquiel destroyed the UN Army's ground units and blasted through Tokyo-3's defenses, frightening the people in the shelters.

• Zero was forced to relive Belial controlling him as he killed Jean-bot, Mirror Knight, Jean-nine, Glenfire, and Pigmon, whose later identity was Moroboshi.
• Zero’s light went out, and his body fell as the people at the NERV base watched in horror.
• Asuka and Rei Ayanami attacked Sahaquiel, but its tentacles incapacitated them and severed Unit-02 and Unit-00.

• Kaworu Nagisa attacked Sahaquiel with Pedanium Unit-03's weapons and pierced its defenses with a Pedanium Beam, damaging its core without destroying it.
• Guren and Mirror arrived and saw Zero lying lifeless, while Hayato inserted a Universe Dinosaur Zetton capsule into the Riser and transformed Sahaquiel with black energy.
• Hayato scanned Zero with a detector, saw red eyes appear on the screen, and fled Tokyo-3.
• Dark Zero told Zero that his comrades had died by his own hands, then merged with him after Zero failed to resist.

Guren, Mirror Knight, and Pedanium Unit-03 struggled against Sahaquiel after it absorbed Zetton's power and reflected Unit-03's beam. They used the experimental Antigravity Bomb to hit Sahaquiel's core, then braced against the blast, leaving the battle's outcome unresolved.

• Mirror Knight and Guren attacked Sahaquiel while Unit-03 fired a Pedanium Particle Beam, which Sahaquiel absorbed and returned as a Zetton Final Beam.
• Ritsuko told Kaworu Nagisa to activate Unit-03's Pedanium Shield, but Sahaquiel's beam broke through and knocked Unit-03 down.
• Misato requested permission to use the experimental Antigravity Bomb, and the Commander approved it.

Belial awakened within Zero and took control of his body, empowering Sahaquiel and confronting Geed. Shinji broke through Zero’s mental barrier with help from Anne Yuri’s lingering spirit, but Belial restrained him as Sahaquiel attacked Guren, Mirror, and Unit-03.

• Dark Zero healed and empowered Sahaquiel with the Reiblood Factor, then ordered it to attack Guren, Mirror, and Unit-03.
• Belial recognized Geed as his future son and accused him of betraying him by siding with the light.
• Shinji battered himself against the barrier in Zero’s Consciousness Space, determined to stop Belial from swallowing Zero’s soul.
• Anne Yuri’s lingering spirit spoke through the charms and gave Shinji the power to shatter the barrier.

• Geed blocked Dark Zero’s attacks and fought back with the Giga Termination, trying to stop him without harming Zero’s body.
• Dark Zero overwhelmed Geed with his Twin Ray and Deathcium Flash, while the people at the base watched in confusion.
• Dark Zero pinned Geed and taunted him for holding back; Geed defended his friends and tried to persuade his father to abandon his hatred.

Zero was trapped in Belial’s illusion, where Dark Zero slaughtered his family, friends, and fellow Ultra Warriors until Shinji’s words helped him regain control. Declaring that he could still protect others, Zero transformed into Shining Form and faced Dark Zero.

• Belial’s illusion made Zero watch Dark Zero destroy the Land of Light and kill Ultraseven, Z, the Ultra Brothers, and many other warriors.
• Shinji called out to Zero, reminding him that an Ultra Warrior’s true strength came from a brave heart.
• Dark Zero tried to kill Shinji, but Zero seized his wrist and regained control of his body.
• Zero broke free of the illusion, proclaimed his resolve to protect others, and transformed into Shining Form.

Shining Zero weakened Dark Zero while Geed battled Sahaquiel, then Dark Zero revealed himself as Atrocious Belial and fought Zero. Their beams collided and sent them, along with Shinji, into a strange space where their desire to fight vanished.

• Shining Zero fought from within Zero and weakened Dark Zero, allowing Geed to knock him down as the dark energy in Zero began to decrease.
• Geed cut off Sahaquiel's tentacles, pierced its AT Field, and struck it with the Butterfly-Wing Beam and Riser Ray.
• Shining Zero defeated Dark Zero's attacks and demanded that he show his true face.
• Dark Zero transformed into Atrocious Belial, and he and Shining Zero fought hand to hand.
• Atrocious Belial and Shining Zero unleashed their beams, whose collision engulfed them in an explosion and transported them, Shinji, and Zero to a strange space where their desire to fight disappeared.

Distorted images showed Zero, Shinji, and Atrocious Belial the past Belial had tried to leave behind, including his role in the Ultra Great War and his growing desire for power. The vision ended with Father of Ultra defeating Alien Empera while Belial collapsed, bitterly aware of the power he lacked.

• Zero and Shinji wondered who had created the images, while Atrocious Belial recognized them as scenes from his past.
• During the Ultra Great War, Belial killed surrendered invaders from Alien Empera's forces, widening the rift between him and Ken.
• Belial and Ken returned to the burning Land of Light, where Alien Empera had slaughtered many Ultramen and defeated them both.
• As Belial lay gravely injured, Mother of Ultra brought Ken the Ultimate Blade, which awakened his full potential.
• Ken defeated Alien Empera with the Ultimate Blade but suffered the wound that became his old injury.
• Belial passed out after bitterly remarking that Ken had possessed such power.

Belial recounted how his obsession with surpassing Father of Ultra led to his corruption by Reiblood and his later wars against the Land of Light and other universes. After Belial’s final battle with Zero devastated the Frontier Universe, Ultraman King sacrificed his body to restore it, and Zero turned to Geed’s story.

• Belial resented Father of Ultra’s promotion and Marie’s love for him, then tried to draw power from the Plasma Spark Core and was exiled after resisting arrest.
• Reiblood forcibly merged with Belial, who took up the Ultimate Battle Nizer and began his revenge against the Land of Light.
• After his resurrection, Belial rebuilt the Ginga Empire and launched the Super Universe Final War, which spread across multiple universes.
• In the Frontier Universe, the New Generation Ultraman damaged Belial’s Dark Armor, and Belial escaped while Zero fought the Dark Five Heavenly Kings.

• Fukuide K stole Hikari's Ultra Capsules and Geed Riser, created Riku from Belial's Ultraman genes, and abandoned him near an observatory.
• Riku became Ultraman Geed and, with Ultraman King's power, defeated Atrocious Belial and freed Belial from Reiblood's soul.
• Belial acknowledged Geed as his own person before dying in the explosion, while the watching Atrocious Belial thanked Fukuide K for his loyalty.
• The visions ended and the distorted space returned to an overcast day.
• Shining Zero lunged at Atrocious Belial, who did not move and said he was tired.

Shining Zero defeated Atrocious Belial, whose purified soul entered the Kaiser Belial Capsule and offered Zero his power. Zero then awakened his Dark Radiant Sky Claw Form and joined Geed to destroy Sahaquiel and contain its explosion.

• Atrocious Belial gave up revenge and asked Shining Zero to finish him, so Zero destroyed him with the Shining Twin Ray.
• White Belial's purified specter entered the Kaiser Belial Capsule and asked Shinji to look after his son.
• Shinji combined the capsules and transformed Zero into Dark Radiant Sky Claw Form.
• Zero attacked Sahaquiel with the Black Hole Storm and Dark Radiant Cross Cutter, destroying the Angel's core.

After Zero and Geed defeated Sahaquiel, Shinji reunited with Asuka and Rei and visited the badly injured Guren, Mirror Knight, and Kaworu. Riku used the Cosmos Capsule to heal them, then admitted he was hungry.

• Riku arrived and told Zero that Glenfire and Mirror Knight had destroyed the Angel in space but were badly injured.
• Misato told Asuka and Rei that Zero had overcome the dark energy possessing him and defeated Sahaquiel with Geed.
• Shinji reunited with Asuka and Rei, then hurried to the ward to see Guren, Mirror Knight, and Kaworu.

Riku shared dinner with Shinji and the others before leaving to search other universes for Devil Splinters, entrusting Belial’s Capsule to Shinji and Zero and giving Zero some of his energy. At SEELE’s base, Hayato reconsidered his plans after Zero’s unexpected use of Belial’s form, then sensed strange fluctuations from another dimension.

• The citizens returned to Tokyo-3 and saw the extensive damage Sahaquiel and the battle had caused, while NERV explained that Sahaquiel’s mental contamination had caused Zero’s transformation.
• Riku ate hot pot with Shinji, Asuka, Rei Ayanami, Misato, Kaji, and Zero, then revealed that he was twenty-two before Shinji stopped him from explaining his origins.
• Riku declined to take Belial’s Capsule, telling Shinji and Zero to keep it to help protect their world, and gave Zero some of his energy before flying away as Geed.
