Xiu Yuan’s shadow defeated the Seven Archons repeatedly, then gave them Gnoses and ordered them to forbid technological development. After the gods departed, Xiu Yuan received a choice between remaining in his ninth lifetime and beginning the tenth and final reincarnation.
Kazuha and Beidou shared wine aboard the ship, and Kazuha revealed that he wanted to use his deceased friend's empty Vision as the prize in the Southern Cross Martial Arts Tournament. He hoped someone without a Vision might awaken it and help him understand what Visions mean to the gods.
As the Resistance Army advanced on Narukami Island, Kazuha drew on memories of his deceased friend Xiu Yuan and blocked the Raiden Shogun’s strike. He picked up his fallen Vision as the Traveler was pulled into the Plane of Euthymia.
Inazuma’s annual Sakura Festival gathered people from across the islands to honor Sasayuri, whose statue stood in the cherry grove. Kitsune Saiguu, Zebu, Chiyo, Yae Miko, and Baal held their traditional picnic beneath the statue, where Xiu Yuan’s faint figure watched them play Karuta.
After completing all nine lifetimes, Xiu Yuan faced the system’s final choice and decided to remain in the Ninth Lifetime. He left the Lord of the Underworld behind, still questioning what Xiu Yuan’s commitment to doing right truly meant.
After discovering that Teyvat had fallen from the Imaginary Tree and the Abyss was the Sea of Quanta eroding it, Xiu Yuan sought a way to stop the world’s destruction. He endured centuries of repeated erosion and regeneration before diving into the Sea of Quanta in search of hope.
Morax established the Liyue Qixing to handle human affairs, while Ganyu and the Yakshas organized its paperwork and Guizhong built Guizhong Ballistae and ran the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. Liyue flourished, and Morax sat alone on Mt. Tianheng drinking tea as the story’s ending remained open.
After centuries of running the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, Guizhong retired and traveled with Morax, and the two returned to Liyue married. Their friends held a small wedding feast on Mt. Tianheng; thousands of peaceful years later, a grotesque body floated in the Sea of Quanta.
As monsters increasingly made travel dangerous across Liyue, Golden Roc led a mining party to the Chasm and learned that attacks on the Millelith had grown severe. Azhdaha emerged from underground, marked by dark purple patches, and attacked Golden Roc.
Azhdaha rampaged through The Chasm, forcing Golden Roc and the Thousand Rock Corps to fight to protect the miners and hold him back. As the battle grew dire, the other four Yakshas arrived above The Chasm.
Morax discovered that a strange force was corroding the Ley Lines and had infected Azhdaha, then gathered the Seven Archons to discuss the growing threat. The chapter ended when Azhdaha revealed that the force had begun corroding Morax’s divine power.
Azhdaha revealed that the spreading corruption could infect divine power, prompting the gods to send Morax and Baal to Celestia for help. There they found a note from Xiu Yuan warning them to destroy invading monsters and avoid being injured, leaving them to face an approaching war without the Heavenly Principles.
Baal explained why the Heavenly Principles may have withheld the warning about the monsters, and Morax agreed that an early warning could have turned Teyvat against Celestia. After Azhdaha was sealed at his own request, Morax returned to Liyue to consult Guizhong and kept the matter secret.
Morax and Guizhong prepared Jueyun Karst as a defensible refuge while monsters emerged from the sea and spread a strange, incurable illness through Liyue. The chapter ended with citizens protesting the Thousand Rock Corps’ order to execute anyone showing purple patches.
Indarias forced Liyue protesters to choose between accepting the policy of executing people infected by monsters or leaving Liyue, while the Yakshas and Adepti prepared for a spreading calamity. The chapter ended as the Abyss-corrupted Demon Gods imprisoned beneath the land broke free and emerged from massive fissures.
Morax returned to Liyue and shielded Liyue Harbor from a gigantic tsunami while battling the Demon Gods who had escaped from Guyun Stone Forest. Bosacius and the other Yakshas left Jueyun Karst to defend Liyue, leaving Cloud Retainer to protect Guizhong.
Morax was pinned down by the Demon Gods attacking him at sea while a horde battered Liyue’s Protective Barrier. The Yakshas intervened and drove the monsters away from the city, then set out to draw them farther away and fight them there.
The five Yakshas struggled to hold off twelve Abyss-tainted Demon Gods until Bosacius was infected and sacrificed himself with a devastating lightning attack. Morax sensed Bosacius’s death while continuing to evade the Demon Gods attacking him at Guyun Stone Forest.
The Yakshas sacrificed themselves to protect Golden Roc, but their combined explosion only killed six of the nine Demon Gods. Left alone to face the survivors, Golden Roc fought on until a smaller third explosion sounded.
Morax fought a vast Abyss horde at Guyun Stone Forest while the Yakshas’ sacrifice left Liyue vulnerable. After Ningguang’s forces brought down one Demon God, more approached the failing barrier, and the Thousand Rock Corps formed ranks to defend the city.
The Thousand Rock Corps sacrificed itself to stop five Demon Gods from reaching Liyue, destroying the legs of two at the cost of nearly all their soldiers. Three Demon Gods kept advancing, and the last survivor begged the Geo Lord to save Liyue.
As the Demon Gods and monsters destroyed Liyue, Ningguang sacrificed the Jade Chamber to stop two attackers, but the last Demon God broke through the barrier and Liyue Harbor fell. Morax fought desperately to reach the burning city until Zebu arrived, held off their pursuers, and gave him a chance to escape in search of his wife.
Morax found Liyue and Jueyun Karst devastated, then discovered Guizhong alive and realized he was being consumed by a mysterious force. A familiar box unlocked his memories of Xiu Yuan, and as Morax cried out for his brother, Xiu Yuan answered that he had always been there.
Xiu Yuan returned after Teyvat was destroyed, comforted Morax, and restored the world before disappearing. Morax discovered that Celestia and the Archons’ Gnoses were gone, then The Seven received a command to lift all restrictions on technology.
After enduring thousands of years in the Sea of Quanta, Xiu Yuan created a new, empty Teyvat and returned to find the original world overrun by monsters. He persuaded the Lord of the Underworld to help revive its inhabitants, then killed Morax and Guizhong so their souls could be gathered and transported to the new world.
