As the Dark Calamity struck Teyvat, Hilichurls and Abyss Mages joined the fight against the monsters, while Aether hoped their actions would ease future prejudice against Khaenri'ah. In the Chasm, fallen Millelith returned through the ley lines to fight beside the living, and Xiao reunited with the long-missing Bosacius.
Xiao and Bosacius reunited on the battlefield in The Chasm and fought together to protect Liyue. Above the heavens, Ellin faced the maddened Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, whose love for the world had been eroded by the civilizations she was forced to destroy.
Ellin confronted the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, whose madness drove her to destroy every civilization in hopes of saving the world. Ellin’s Reconstruction power overcame the Sustainer’s Red Cubes, and their final clash illuminated the skies above Teyvat as the gods watched for the battle’s outcome.
Ellin defeated the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, but chose to comfort her rather than grant her plea for death. After the exhausted Sustainer fell asleep, Ellin headed for the shattered boundary to continue resolving the catastrophe.
Ellin repaired Teyvat after the calamity, and the continent began rebuilding as its people celebrated another Lantern Rite. She planned to bring Teyvat into the universe where the players lived, and the chapter ended with her friends and family gathering in Wonderland to celebrate with her.
After the calamity, Ellin helped Khaenri'ah recover and moved Teyvat into a safer universe, where its people could govern themselves and face the consequences of their choices. She also made Wonderland immune to time, giving her friends the chance to extend their lives, while honoring those who chose not to.
Ellin brought Keqing, Fischl, Sucrose, Noelle, and Kamisato Ayaka to her old apartment in the higher-dimensional world, where they settled in and played games. The chapter ended with Keqing asking Ellin to buy enough game currency for a C6 Zhongli and his refinement-rank-five Signature Weapon.
Ellin took Keqing, Ayaka, Fischl, and the others to a gaming and anime convention, where they learned that attendees dressed as characters they admired. At the Genshin Impact booth, Keqing attracted a crowd of cosplayers who mistook her authentic Teyvat outfit and appearance for expert cosplay.
Noelle, Sucrose, Kamisato Ayaka, Shenhe, and Fischl took photos with fans at the event, each drawing attention in a way that suited her character. At the official booth, voice actor Baobao was asked to deliver a famous line to an Ayaka cosplayer, and Kamisato Ayaka was invited onto the stage.
Bao Bao’s cosplay interaction with Kamisato Ayaka ended in embarrassment before Ruin machines appeared outside the convention. Ellin calmed the crowd and the Teyvat visitors prepared to fight, leaving Keqing defending the audience from a Ruin Hunter.
Ellin and her friends staged a spectacular battle for Genshin Impact players before saying goodbye and returning to Teyvat. The author then explained why the novel ended, shared plans for a new Genshin Impact story, and thanked readers.
Ellin explained how she inherited her late friend’s Genshin account, then reassured Noelle that the All-Devouring Narwhal could not reach Teyvat in its new universe. She revealed that Fontaine’s prophecy could still come to pass and recounted the origins of Egeria, the Oceanids, and Fontaine’s people.
Focalors devised a plan to save Fontaine by restoring the Hydro Dragon King's authority and making the people true humans while letting the prophecy appear to unfold. She split herself into the divine Focalors, who hid within the Oratrice Mécanique d'Analyse Cardinale, and Furina, who would publicly play the Hydro Archon.
Furina’s reflection had asked her to impersonate the Hydro Archon to save Fontaine, and she had endured five hundred years of constant vigilance and mental suffering. After a citizen’s remark about generations passing, Furina broke down in private and wondered how long she would have to wait for the promised trial and her freedom.
Furina endured the loneliness of pretending to be the Hydro Archon while Neuvillette reflected on his growing attachment to Fontaine and his resolve to save its people. His walk was interrupted when he met the Heavenly Principles, whose arrival left him unsure how to respond.
Ellin met Neuvillette in the Court of Fontaine and warned him that Fontaine’s prophecy was about to unfold, urging him to prepare for a disaster. Before leaving, she gave him a mental imprint he could use if he faced a dilemma over reclaiming the Ancient Dragon’s authority.
Ellin visited the Oratrice Mécanique d'Analyse Cardinale and tried to reach Focalors without exposing her plan. Ten days later, rising primordial seawater threatened Fontaine, and Ellin resolved to help.
Fontaine faced rising seas and widespread eruptions of Primordial Sea water, while Furina’s inaction fueled public anger. Neuvillette considered The Knave’s offer to work together to uncover Furina’s secrets as the crisis worsened.
After Fontaine’s flood, Furina broke down under the citizens’ anger and her own helplessness. Ellin, the new Heavenly Principles, comforted her, but Furina recognized who she was and recoiled in terror.
Ellin met a frightened Furina in Poisson and tried to reassure her, while Furina remained guarded about the Heavenly Principles. After Navia thanked Ellin for saving the town and her loved ones from primordial sea water, Furina began to wonder whether Ellin might truly be trying to prevent Fontaine’s prophecy.
After Ellin saved the people of Poisson, Furina cautiously agreed to guide her around Fontaine the next day. Furina planned an outing filled with activities she secretly longed to try and fell asleep smiling for the first time in hundreds of years.
Ellin disguised Furina so they could tour Fontaine without attracting attention, and Furina began enjoying the freedom of an ordinary citizen. The two started their outing at a working-class breakfast stall, where Furina happily ate a pumpkin fritter.
Furina took Ellin around the Court of Fontaine while temporarily free from the burdens of her Hydro Archon identity, enjoying the ordinary activities she loved. At a Blubberbeast show, she bristled at the host’s claim that the creatures had the world’s best high notes.
Furina entered a high-note contest against five blubberbeasts at an aquarium and won a person-sized plush with her singing. The blubberbeasts admired her, earning her the unwanted but secretly pleasing title of blubberbeast boss.
After a day exploring Fontaine with Ellin, Furina came upon an orphanage she had founded and saw the children playing a game based on the prophecy, with her cast as their protector. She remembered ignoring the director’s request to visit and play with them, leaving her to face the distance between the children’s hopes and what she had done.
