Royal lineage and break with Tai Sui Gate

Xue Qingcheng’s lineage descends from the first ice-element true spirit born on the Divine Continent. Before dying, that ancestor bore offspring and passed down her cultivation and some memories. Although inherited memories diminished over generations, the cultivation of successive queens remained intact 320.

Her mother, the previous queen, sacrificed herself through a bargain with Tai Sui Gate’s Holy Lord to open the Primordial Cold Abyss. Xue Qingcheng rejected that bargain as her mother’s decision, arguing that the Holy Lord regarded the Snow Demon Tribe as an expendable pawn 297.

She and Lin Mo sealed reciprocal conditions with three palm strikes. His terms required her not to bully weaker cultivators or attack humans, to sever ties with Tai Sui Gate, and—once he supplied the final condition—to respect his dignity publicly. Their arrangement also preserved their marriage agreement if she allied with him against the sect 295 300.

Travels through human territory

When polar day approached, Xue Qingcheng ordered Xue Mu, Xue Ye, and the Snow Demon army back to Snow Burial Valley. Her royal sacred physique allowed her to remain outside despite the daylight. She then accompanied Lin Mo, Bing Suihan, and Puyuan toward the Southern Frontier 295.

At Azure Cloud Sect, she insisted on meeting Lin Mo’s parents and greeted them shyly as “Uncle and Auntie.” Later, at Savage God Valley, she publicly identified Lin Mo as her future husband when Redback treated him dismissively 301 310.

She helped address the Earth Fiend crisis by proposing that Lin Mo’s World Tree bloodline be used to assume Wood Wight’s form. Through Ice Shatter, she entered his sea of consciousness and guided his absorption of spiritual and earth-vein energy 320.

Evil Spirit conflict and protection of Snow Burial Valley

During the confrontation involving Yao Qing and the Evil Spirit Incarnation, Xue Qingcheng’s soul attack inadvertently helped the incarnation separate into its constituent evil spirits. She subsequently killed Yao Qing with sword light, but the Evil Spirit escaped as black mist 380 381.

She later joined Lin Mo in locating the incarnation in the Southern Frontier. Together, they trapped it with the Big Dipper Sword Formation and her sealing art, then destroyed its remaining mist. She used its memories to explain the Nine Netherworlds Abyss and the Netherworld Soul Seal 400 402.

Concern that Evil Soul Seals might also affect her people prompted her return to Snow Burial Valley. She subdued afflicted clanspeople and excavated an underground prison to isolate them. During that work, she discovered the ancestral stele and Cold Moon Ice Blade that substantially expanded her techniques 406 455 465.

Search for Lin Mo in the Nine Netherworlds Abyss

After overhearing that Lin Mo had secretly departed for the Nine Netherworlds Abyss, Xue Qingcheng immediately pursued him. She crossed four planes, determined to bring him home or die beside him 448 454.

She infiltrated the Central Court using Snow Mist Art and learned that Lin Mo was heading east. After defeating Bing Hun and four accompanying soul slaves, she left him frozen and apparently lifeless; Bing Hun survived with severe injuries 455.

Mistaken for the invader responsible for Lin Mo’s exploits, she refused to expose his identity. Three Baleful Stars, ten Evil Generals, and five Nether Guards surrounded her. Her new defenses resisted the three leaders’ combined assault, but a concealed attack from Li Yuan gravely injured her dantian and reduced her combat strength by more than half 464 465.

The pursuit ended in a cavern, where further wounds left her unable to stand. Lin Mo arrived before Li Yuan could cripple and imprison her. After recovering part of her Dharma Power through Lin Mo’s Spirit Plant Altar, she eliminated the surrounding Nether Guards and Evil Generals 474 475.

Campaign against the Saint King

With her strength restored, Xue Qingcheng carried Lin Mo’s Green-Skinned Gourd across the planar barrier to the Dry Jade Continent while he cultivated inside. When corrosive black rain exposed their concealment, she followed his decision to pose as an outsider seeking the Saint King’s patronage 480 481.

The pair accepted capture to investigate the Saint King, survived the Ascension Ceremony while concealing their strength, and eventually confronted him. Xue Qingcheng volunteered to hold him off while Lin Mo activated his sword puppet, but the Saint King’s superior cultivation and fire power overwhelmed her 482 489 492.

For the later assault on the Heavenly Nether Sacred Tower, she spread Soul-Calming Dew through snowfall over Bluestone Ghost City. The operation put tens of thousands of soul slaves to sleep and cleared the way for the allied attack 515 516.

She survived the ensuing battle, though badly wounded. When Gongsun Fu stabbed Lin Mo and revealed her connection to the Saint King, Xue Qingcheng attacked immediately but was knocked aside 524 525.

Lin Mo’s poisoning and later battles

After Lin Mo contracted Netherbone Evil Poison, Xue Qingcheng persuaded the Enlightened Spirit Consciousness to answer his remaining question on his behalf. She obtained the Phoenix Yin Demon-Transforming Formation and brought him to the Deep Sea Imperial City for treatment 531 532.

She sustained the formation alongside Gongsun Fu, Hai Beier, and Xuanyuan Ziyan. Near its completion, a female corpse broke free of her Ice Seal and pierced her abdomen, leaving her unconscious and collapsing the formation. Lin Mo briefly died before being revived by a white lotus and the World Tree Divine Tree. Xue Qingcheng later recovered and returned to Snow Burial Valley 534 535.

She subsequently fought beside Lin Mo against the Heaven-Connecting Church Master, immobilizing their opponent and blocking his sword formation while Lin Mo prepared his attack. Their coordination drew explicit praise from Shi Lan and Gongsun Fu 577.

Personality

Xue Qingcheng is proud, stubborn, and unwilling to accept insults to herself or those she claims as her own. She challenges Savage God Valley’s dismissive treatment of Lin Mo and remains openly defiant even when surrounded by Xuanyuan City’s numerous experts 295 310 337.

Her possessiveness toward Lin Mo initially appears through jealousy of Hai Beier and Yunxin. In private, however, she can be shy and vulnerable: meeting his parents leaves her blushing, and she later tries to become more considerate rather than continually question his decisions 300 301 335 400.

Her courage does not exclude caution. She infiltrates the Netherbone Divine Hall rather than attempting to fight its entire garrison. Experience with Lin Mo also changes her judgment of others: she warns that a low cultivation realm does not make someone harmless, anticipating the danger posed by Gongsun Fu 455 514 525.
