Good.

Qin Luo liked honest people like them! Still, he had to say what needed saying. "That currency isn't used anymore. Whether you'll be able to exchange it later is anyone's guess. Don't keep indulging them. You can't carry them through everything that comes next."

Liu Chunhui nodded and thanked him repeatedly, saying she felt reassured now that they had found the main group.

She asked a few more questions about the survivor base and learned that everything there was orderly. They had simply switched to a different way of life and a different currency.

Liu Chunhui had great faith in Headquarters and said that was fine. They could just start over.

There was a reason Qin Luo treated the couple more gently. Both understood the situation, and their younger daughter was quiet and well-behaved.

Unlike Yang Cong and his bunch.

They really had no sense of when to behave.

Fortunately, Chen Xiaofei kept them in line and sent them straight back to work after they finished eating.

They were angry but didn't dare say anything.

Xu Duoduo, meanwhile, was immersed in her own space. The multifaceted Rubik's cube space in her sea of consciousness had filled up a little more, with vehicles occupying several compartments.

There were luxury sedans and vans from all sorts of major brands, even an RV, along with four large trucks. And the trucks actually had cargo inside?

Xu Duoduo hadn't looked closely before. Now she discovered that one truck was full of flour, another held hardware parts, and another carried fruit. Unfortunately, after so long in the apocalypse, most of the fruit had rotted.

The last truck was full of packages??

It was one of those huge trucks, too-a 9.6-meter box truck, which supposedly could hold around nine to ten thousand packages. What sheer bliss!

The little zombie might have been a zombie, but she still remembered the joy of opening packages.

Xu Duoduo pulled one out and started opening it. The very first one turned out to contain a bunny-ear headband. It looked adorable, so she promptly put it on.

When Qin Luo finally had time to check on her, he discovered she was opening packages??

"Where did you get those?"

Qin Luo didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The pink-and-white bunny-ear headband on her head was surprisingly cute, and he couldn't resist reaching out to pinch one of the ears.

It felt pretty nice.

Xu Duoduo sneaked a glance at him, feeling a little guilty, as though she'd been caught doing something bad. But then she remembered that several major cities had already fallen. These packages couldn't be delivered anyway.

That put the little zombie much more at ease.

She even stuffed two small packages into Qin Luo's arms, intending to make him her "partner in crime."

A moment's thought was enough for Qin Luo to figure it out. He had a good memory and had spotted a delivery truck while clearing out zombies yesterday, but he hadn't given it much thought.

Mostly, he had no idea how large Xu Duoduo's space could be. Who could have guessed that she loved hoarding things like a hamster, wanting to stuff everything she saw into her space?

Still, he had to admit that thanks to this hobby of hers, she'd accumulated quite a few more supplies in her space.

Since they weren't ready to leave yet, Qin Luo casually opened the two packages. One contained a mechanical keyboard, and the other a Buddhist prayer-bead bracelet.

He found them rather uninteresting, then turned to see Xu Duoduo unwrap a phone and a gold bracelet. He was stunned! What kind of absurd luck was that?

Xu Duoduo's eyes lit up at the sight of the gold bracelet, and she raised her hand to slip it onto her wrist.

Qin Luo hurriedly stopped her. "Whoa, whoa, don't put that on. It'll catch people's eyes with so many around. You know you're not supposed to flaunt your wealth, right? If someone snatches you away, you'll be in trouble."

As the saying went, antiques in times of peace, gold in times of turmoil. Gold was still very tempting these days.

The little zombie was sometimes sharp and sometimes clueless, and Qin Luo was genuinely afraid someone would kidnap her.

She was so tiny that he could pick her up and carry her off with barely any effort.

Although Bai Shu and Chen Xiaofei said she'd killed several Mutant Monkeys with a chainsaw, he still found it incredible whenever he looked at her small frame.

Qin Luo was worrying over nothing.

Xu Duoduo really had only wanted to try it on. She hadn't intended to run around wearing a gold bracelet, so she merely put it away in her space with a helpless air.

Still, having a compartment set aside specifically for jewelry made her feel wonderful.

Sparkly things.

Pretty!

The little zombie liked them.

Chen Xiaofei wolfed down two bowls of noodles, then turned to see Xu Duoduo and Qin Luo-the zombie and the human-fiddling with something away from everyone else.

He suspected those two were sneaking extra food. "What are you secretly eating?"

Chen Xiaofei crept over and called out, only to discover that they were opening packages. "Holy crap! Wait, where did you get packages at a time like this?"

Seeing him, Xu Duoduo finished opening her last package, then stopped and tucked everything into her space.

Qin Luo was already questioning his life. He said in anguish, "Five packages. Five! Xu Duoduo got two phones and a jade ornament. And me? I got a Russian Nesting Doll and a ceramic stewing pot!"

His luck couldn't have been worse.

Without a comparison, there would have been no pain.

Qin Luo resigned himself to his fate.

Chen Xiaofei cackled with delight. "The Little Class Monitor really does have great luck!"

Only then did Xu Duoduo finish typing. She raised her tablet, which read, [Got them from the delivery truck outside.]

Chen Xiaofei realized she was answering his question. That response had taken so long that it made him laugh. "Oh, all right! Got it, Little Class Monitor."

Xu Duoduo looked around to make sure no one was nearby, then gave Chen Xiaofei two small packages to open.

No one could resist the joy of opening packages.

Chen Xiaofei accepted them and unwrapped a belt and a men's wallet, both from big brands.

He exclaimed, "Wow! If it weren't the apocalypse, wouldn't these cost tens of thousands?"

Then he looked down. Oh, they were packages from Some Shun. Most goods shipped through that company were on the pricier side. No wonder everything was good.

After seeing that, Qin Luo declared he didn't want to play anymore. "Xu Duoduo, are you messing with me on purpose? You gave me all the bad ones."

He was ridiculously childish.

The little zombie stared at him with her round, almond-shaped eyes, as if to say, Are you kidding me? I picked them at random!

Qin Luo laughed again, his little pointed canines showing clearly. He was just teasing her on purpose.

The little zombie's face was expressionless, but her eyes were wonderfully expressive. When she was angry, she glared; when she was frustrated, they looked mournful. Teasing her was always fun.

Happy times were always short-lived.

The three of them only played for a few minutes. Once the survivors finished breakfast and the bus was ready, they began loading their things and preparing to leave.

Then, just before departure, another problem cropped up.

Yang Cong and his bunch actually asked to ride in Qin Luo's Off-Road Vehicle.

"It's such a big vehicle. Surely we can all fit if we squeeze in? That bus doesn't look safe at all."

Qin Luo said coldly, "Keep running your mouth, and you can get the hell out."

Captain Qin was cool and arrogant with outsiders. He was only gentler with his own people.

Yang Cong shut his mouth.

A few of his companions had a little more sense. At least they knew to apologize.

In the end, they dragged Yang Cong back.

Xu Duoduo deftly climbed into the Off-Road Vehicle too. This time, Chen Xiaofei and Wang Weihu had to ride in the survivors' vehicle. Someone needed to keep an eye on things there.

Yang Cong's gaze landed on Xu Duoduo. Finally, he spat and said, "What's with the act? Pretending he's so high and mighty when he's bringing a girl on a mission. She's probably his side piece. Otherwise, what's the point of bringing a girl like that?"

She looked so frail and delicate.

Wu Zijie tried to soothe him. "Don't be angry, Yang Cong. We can't afford to offend these people right now."
