Background / History
Wang Weihu knew Qin Luo, Bai Shu, Chen Xiaofei, and Xu Duoduo from their school years. He had not begun thinking about romance in middle school and subsequently devoted himself to frontline fighting. He and the other three men joined the military and became a closely coordinated special-operations squad 10 14 35.
Before and during the apocalypse, he handled much of the group’s practical caretaking, including sewing clothes for his teammates. Their division of duties placed him in charge of civilian communication, freeing Qin Luo to concentrate on combat 10.
As a junior soldier, he both idolized and feared the Four Continents Team, with respect eventually outweighing his fear. He remembers his own squad eagerly seeking their seniors’ attention and being warned not to become conceited over small achievements. This experience informs his later treatment of younger combat squads 428.
After the apocalypse ends, he continues working with rookie combat teams. His ordinary routine combines early-morning exercise, buying breakfast for his teammates, motorcycle rides, and intensive virtual combat training at the Training Building 528.
Appearance
- Tallest member of the team: At 196 cm, he towers over Xu Duoduo and is taller than all three male teammates 20.
- Hulking, muscular build: His imposing presence helps him command civilians’ attention and cooperation 10 34.
- Amur tiger features: His transformation gives him short tiger ears and a yellow-and-black-striped tail. His teammates describe the resulting appearance as chubby, kind-looking, and unexpectedly adorable 48.
- Expressive transformed features: His tail swishes as he walks, and his tiger ears twitch when he scratches his head 48 50.
- Complete beast form: Becomes an enormous orange-and-black-striped tiger with a sleek coat and bright eyes. Although initially imposing, his bashful behavior makes his teammates regard him as a good-natured “giant kitty” 404.
- Everyday clothing: Favors simple T-shirts and sweatpants that emphasize his physique. He is described as having the most powerful build in 3A 477.
- Post-apocalypse appearance: Has neat, short black hair and wears a leather jacket while riding his motorcycle. His unsmiling expression looks stern, despite his gentle disposition 528 529.
Personality
Wang Weihu is the squad’s dependable caretaker. He balances reassurance with firm instructions, using his intimidating presence to keep frightened survivors organized. His concern extends beyond immediate safety: he treats injuries, explains survival guidance, and alerts a logistics squad to survivors’ psychological trauma 10 13 41.
He is pragmatic and thinks ahead. His suggestion that Xu Duoduo wear colored contacts is intended to prevent panic, not to exclude her. Once he understands the scale of her spatial ability, he insists that its details remain secret. During the base’s food shortage, he accepts that ordinary survivors should receive priority because ability users can subsist on nutrient solution 11 18 24.
His responsible public manner contrasts with his behavior among friends. He joins their teasing, competes for Bai Shu’s chili sauce, and becomes openly enthusiastic about cigarettes and liquor. After nearly dying against a three-star monster, however, he bluntly acknowledges the squad’s weakness and the need to improve 19 24 31 45.
His strictness toward younger soldiers is protective rather than dismissive. He praises genuine improvement but criticizes poor coordination, unstable fighting stances, and reckless overexertion. When rookies lose themselves in battle and disregard their lives, he angrily reminds them that Headquarters trained them to survive, not to die needlessly 72 228 457 490.
He is especially gentle toward his own teammates and finds it difficult to be harsh with them. Even after being deeply embarrassed by a disguise involving women’s clothing, he reassures Xu Duoduo when she apologizes. He also remains ambitious about his abilities and expresses a desire to keep growing stronger despite Qin Luo and Xu Duoduo’s exceptional advancement 337 416 440.
His social competence is uneven. He communicates comfortably with civilians and combat teams but becomes tense and tongue-tied around senior officials, leaving more complicated negotiations to Bai Shu. In romance, he often misses indirect requests and conventional gestures of affection. Nevertheless, he considers a prospective partner’s feelings seriously and declines to pursue a relationship when he fears that his inability to understand her wishes could hurt her 257 282 529.
Abilities & Skills
Enhanced Strength and Toughness
His original ability increases his strength, while his tough constitution makes him the team’s damage-soaking frontline fighter 24 30.
- Uses a flurry of punches to make the mutant snake-man disgorge swallowed remains 30.
- Physically repels zombies while guarding Xu Duoduo at a gas station, where using fire would be unsafe 23.
- Has difficulty controlling his strength when the ability is active 24.
- Can still be overwhelmed: the snake-man throws him aside and leaves him too injured to stand unaided 30.
- Channels ability energy into his fists. A demonstration punch produces a forceful gust, and he explains that mutant-core treatment multiplied his internal energy many times over 51.
- With his gauntlets, delivers a charged punch straight through a Withered-Branch Old Witch 226.
- Reports increased strength and defense after reaching Sixth Tier 408.
Earth Abilities
His earth abilities derive from the Amur tiger associated with his mutant-core treatment 50.
- The source tiger condensed earth into balls to chase and crush victims 50.
- Professor Ji suggests inheriting that technique or developing earth walls and spikes 50.
- Initially, these are proposed applications rather than demonstrated techniques. He later masters earth balls, walls, spikes, arrows, defensive structures, and other constructs 50 189 200 226 401.
His developing control allows him to combine offense, defense, mobility, and practical construction rather than relying only on brute force 189 200.
- Earth and stone balls: Rolls a massive stone ball over attacking monsters. Later uses rolling earth balls to herd zombies into concentrated groups 226 401 402.
- Walls and crushing blocks: Traps gathered zombies within four earth walls, then drops a massive block of earth onto them 401.
- Earth spikes and arrows: Creates piercing attacks and barriers, including spikes that stop a charging Lizard Person while he rescues a wounded survivor 200 233 344.
- Earthen sword: Forms an enormous sword that wounds a Six-Star Giant Zombie’s shoulder, then shears away half its body during his breakthrough attempt 403.
- Earthen shield: Blocks a Five-Star Vulture’s Wind Blade aimed at Chen Xiaofei 320.
- Earth traversal: Can travel through the earth 200.
- Shelters and furnishings: Builds fortresses, small beds, watchtowers, and temporary shelters. One three-meter-high watchtower protects him from wind and snow, while a later stilt house includes a staircase 189 320 344.
- Earth Bridge: Constructs a bridge praised by the Cheetah Squad and White Dove Squad 388.
- Structural repair: Repeatedly patches cracked walls and floors during a battle against a Six-Star Lizard Person, eventually overexerting his ability 248.
- Base defenses: Restores H City Survivor Base’s protective barrier and fortress defenses during the final crisis, keeping monsters outside at severe personal cost 511 512.
His ability requires available material. When there is no soil nearby, he must use soil stored in his space rather than create it from nothing 425.
Earthen Warriors / Heng Ha Generals
Wang Weihu experiments with molding humanoid earth figures before he can make them effective combatants. Fei predicts that he will eventually command many earthen soldiers, validating his ambition to create an army 287.
- His early figures cannot deliver powerful attacks 287.
- At Sixth Tier, creates two lifelike warriors armed with a huge axe and a broadsword, then directs them to cut down zombies 416.
- The constructs are subsequently referred to as his Heng Ha Generals. They assist with removing casualties from the Border Defense Base’s ruins 460.
- During his advancement to Eighth Tier, their numbers grow from a handful to dozens and then hundreds 463.
- Their appearance is distinctive enough that he avoids using them during the raid on M Country’s arsenal, relying on ordinary earth techniques instead 490.
- After restoring H City’s defenses, plans to summon Earth Soldiers to assist the ongoing battle once he has recovered enough energy 512.
Amur Tiger Transformation
He initially develops visible tiger characteristics but remains unfamiliar with the transformation’s advantages 48 49.
- Displays tiger ears and a striped tail 48.
- Is advised to explore the transformation and adjust his training accordingly 49.
- Achieves a complete tiger transformation when he reaches Sixth Tier during the Giant Zombie battle 404.
- His full beast form is enormous, but he remains self-conscious about its appearance and hides his face behind his paws when photographed 404.
- Reverting from beast form can leave him without clothing. During the K City investigation, he unexpectedly changes back while in a tree and falls into bushes before getting dressed 408.
- Continues to dislike displaying his partial beast form despite the Cheetah Squad’s enthusiasm for his tiger features 449.
Recovery
His ability-user constitution helps him survive serious external injuries, though it does not eliminate pain or the need for treatment 30 31.
- His bleeding stops before he disinfects and bandages his wounds 31.
- His recovery after the snake-man battle is faster than the squad previously expected 33.
- Subsequent monitoring confirms a modest increase in strength 43.
- Develops a 40°C fever after recently advancing and overusing his ability. A Healing-Type Ability User identifies the cause and restores him to full health, allowing him to return to combat 429 431.
- After the ten-day siege, recalls possible injuries from monsters gnawing on his body, although his abdomen is intact. Bai Shu explains that healed or regenerated body parts may be indistinguishable from the originals; Cao Wenzhou discourages further attempts to recover the traumatic memories 467.
- At Eighth Tier, recovers rapidly with medicine and nutrient solution after exhausting his ability and bleeding from the seven openings of his head. His strength still requires additional recovery afterward 511 512.
- His earlier injuries have healed by the post-apocalypse Interstellar Arc 528.
Driving and Combat Coordination
His military background supports driving through extreme weather and responding quickly to squad signals 23 29.
- Drives through torrential rain with visibility below half a meter 22.
- Handles roads covered by enormous hailstones 23.
- Takes over Zhao Gang’s bus during the snake-man pursuit and creates enough distance to arrange the survivors’ escape 28 29.
- Understands Qin Luo’s flashing-light signal to stop and fight without a lengthy explanation 29.
- Shares overnight driving duties with Qin Luo during journeys to City I and back from City E 92 173.
- Warns accompanying squads to keep their engines running during extreme cold on the journey to City R 121.
- Coordinates airship boarding and traffic during the evacuation from Wa Country, issuing instructions in both Chinese and English 207.
Survivor Management and Practical Care
He serves as the team’s primary liaison because civilians respond more readily to him than to Bai Shu or Chen Xiaofei 10.
- Distributes physical copies of the Doomsday Survival Manual and explains emergency conditions 10 25.
- Warns survivors about conductive objects during lightning storms and contaminated exposed fruit 10.
- Treats injured survivors and handles rescue handovers 13 41.
- Cooks, sews clothes, and packs the squad’s bedding 10 36 44.
- Keeps his home spotless and undertakes bulk cooking for the squad using ingredients and appliances supplied by Xu Duoduo 61.
- Provides emergency treatment to the Yellow Sand Squad’s wounded captain, uses Xu Duoduo’s medical supplies, and requests medical logistics support from M City Base 233.
- Carries a weakened Chen Xiaofei after the Escape Pod landing 315.
- Continues mending Bai Shu’s and Chen Xiaofei’s frequently damaged clothes during missions 417.
- Rescues survivors and retrieves bodies from earthquake ruins at the Border Defense Base 460.
- Continues buying and distributing breakfast to his teammates after the apocalypse 528.
Instruction and Mentorship
Wang Weihu’s combat experience makes him an effective instructor who combines detailed criticism with reassurance and encouragement 228 490.
- Is assigned to teach Xu Duoduo boxing during her three-day intensive training period 61.
- Reviews the Cheetah Squad’s and White Dove Squad’s mistakes, emphasizing support response times and discipline during zombie-clearing operations 72.
- Recognizes weaknesses in their lower-body stability and recommends weighted squats, while acknowledging their improvement and potential 228.
- Shares practical experience fighting Lizard People before a joint extermination mission 272.
- Takes extensive notes during the M Country arsenal raid and gives all three accompanying squads a detailed review aboard the airship 490.
- Teaches the Charge Squad to coordinate with unfamiliar teams, report coordinates, maintain regular signals, and keep personal distress from undermining battlefield judgment 490.
- Leads rookies through virtual combat training after the apocalypse, typically expending eighty to ninety percent of his energy during a day’s work 528.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Storage Space Card: Embedded in his wristband, originally with a capacity of 100 cubic meters. It stores weapons, food, bedding, and other supplies. The space is split off by Gluttonous Beast, who can see its contents; it offers no privacy from headquarters. Gluttonous Beast later upgrades every 3A member’s card to 1,000 cubic meters 8 36 429.
- Marble Bombs: Uses a bomb to clear clustered zombies during the commercial-district rescue. Its blast diameter can be precisely controlled within five meters 39.
- Mutant Core Dilution Injections: Receives a small case containing six further doses, with instructions to take one every three days. He recognizes that the resulting energy requires training to use properly. Later treatment involves a three-star earth-type core supplied by Qin Luo; Qin Luo also instructs him to report side effects from Six-Star mutant-core injections 49 146 397.
- Doomsday Survival Manuals: Carries paper copies for survivors whose ordinary electronic devices no longer function 10 25.
- Squad combat vehicle: Drives the heavily upgraded vehicle, whose features include a sealed configuration, temporary submarine capability, and Tank Mode. Its larger interior lets him sit without hunching 20.
- Custom gauntlets / Boxing Gloves: Requests boxing gloves from the Artisan Department and receives lightweight, thin gauntlets that amplify his punches while protecting his fists. They are waterproof, fireproof, tear-resistant, breathable, and tough enough to withstand scratches from ordinary mutated monsters 56 62 226.
- Combat uniforms and firearms: Distributes newly issued equipment among the squad, including machine guns, and stores his share in his Space Card. The team receives black combat uniforms from the Artisan Department 62.
- Cooking appliances: Receives four air fryers and three pressure cookers from Xu Duoduo to prepare reserve meals 61.
- Stored soil: Keeps soil in his space for circumstances in which his earth ability lacks a local supply 425.
- Power-stone fan: Carries a fan taken from Gluttonous Beast; a single power stone can operate such a fan for several years 428.
- Motorcycle: Takes up motorcycle riding after the apocalypse and rides daily to unwind 528.
Relationships
- Qin Luo — Captain and longtime friend. Wang Weihu follows his combat decisions, handles civilian matters on his behalf, and joins him in confronting the man spreading rumors about Xu Duoduo. Qin Luo supplies an earth-type core for his serum and later praises his patience and suitability as a rookie instructor 10 23 35 36 146 490.
- Xu Duoduo — Former classmate and later teammate. He proposes disguising her zombie eyes, protects the secrecy of her spatial ability, and comes to admire her restraint and lifesaving strength. He explicitly denies romantic interest in her and later volunteers to buy mutant cores for her. He becomes her boxing instructor and prepares reserve food from her supplies. She helps care for him during his fever and gives him medicine and a protective shield after his desperate defense of H City 11 14 24 35 36 50 61 429 511 512.
- Bai Shu — Longtime teammate and frequent rescue partner. Bai Shu covers him while he escorts survivors, monitors information the others neglect, and teases him about his enthusiasm for Xu Duoduo’s supplies. Bai Shu repeatedly casts him as the “mother” of their mock family, with himself as the father and Chen Xiaofei as their son. This teasing does not indicate an actual marriage or romantic relationship 24 32 39 178 293 362.
- Chen Xiaofei — Longtime teammate and fellow frontline fighter. Both are badly injured against the snake-man, share relief after Xu Duoduo saves them, and reach late-tier two. Wang Weihu later carries him after an emergency landing; Chen Xiaofei reciprocates his usual caretaking by staying with him during his fever. Both reach Eighth Tier after the Border Defense Base siege 29 30 49 315 429 467.
- Zhao Gang — Rescued civilian and bus driver. Wang Weihu takes over driving during the pursuit, then returns the bus to him with instructions for escaping while the squad holds off the monster 28 29.
- Professor Ji — Advises him on developing his transformation and earth abilities rather than relying solely on injection-driven power gains. Later handles arrangements for serum made from a three-star earth-type core and praises the squad’s ambition and healthy psychological assessments 49 50 146 337.
- Cheetah Squad and White Dove Squad — Younger combat teams who become deeply attached to him as a mentor and protective senior. They call him Brother Wang, seek his praise, and repeatedly follow 3A on missions. He corrects their mistakes, recognizes their progress, and prevents them from throwing their lives away through reckless fighting 72 117 193 228 457 490.
- Charge Squad / Xue Feng — Fellow combatants whose relationship with 3A is initially less close than their public claims suggest. During the arsenal raid, Wang Weihu identifies their coordination problems and addresses the effect of grief on their performance. Xue Feng thanks him and promises to improve his leadership 490.
- Four Continents Team / Cao Wenzhou — Respected seniors whom he admired during his own development as a soldier. Cao Wenzhou later intervenes when recalling traumatic battle injuries begins to distress him 428 467.
- Da Qiao and Zhang Chi — Friends with whom he arranges drinking outings. He also speaks comfortably with Zhang Chi about their teams’ missions 84 517.
- Unnamed tavern date — A woman who approaches him after the apocalypse and whom he genuinely likes. Their outing fails to develop into a relationship because he misses her indirect expectations; he decides against another date out of concern that they are not well matched 528 529.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Cannery Rescue
Wang Weihu drives during the mutant-elephant encounter and later organizes survivors sheltering in the canned-fruit factory. He explains survival precautions, distributes manuals, and suggests colored contacts so Xu Duoduo can travel with the group without exposing her zombie condition 7 10 11.
During the mutant-monkey attack, he fights alongside Qin Luo and urges survivors to defend themselves. Afterward, he treats the wounded but cannot promise that their injuries will not lead to infection. Chen Xiaofei subsequently explains Xu Duoduo’s rare spatial ability to him before the group heads to H City 12 13 14.
Service-Area Salvage and Snake-Man Battle
At the service area, Wang Weihu guards Xu Duoduo, helps gather supplies, and cautions Bai Shu against discussing the extent of her storage. He also organizes survivors and helps prepare their bus for departure 23 24 26.
When the mutant snake-man catches up, he takes over the bus and then sends Zhao Gang onward while the squad stays to fight. Acting as the team’s defensive frontline, he suffers severe injuries and survives after Xu Duoduo destroys the monster. The encounter prompts his admission that the squad is still too weak 28 29 30 31.
City C Rescue and Grain Recovery
Wang Weihu and Bai Shu rescue scattered civilians around Baoli Commercial District while Qin Luo clears the mall. He repeatedly returns for additional survivors, then handles their transfer to a logistics squad equipped to address psychological trauma 38 39 40 41.
He accompanies the team to Ping’an County, where Xu Duoduo empties thirty-two granaries containing a combined 240,000 tons of grain. The team agrees to give most of it to the base and returns with further rescued survivors 41 42.
Injection Treatment and Typhoon Defense
After monitoring confirms his post-battle improvement, Wang Weihu receives mutant-core treatment, develops Amur tiger features, and is identified as late-tier two. His new earth abilities require further experimentation 43 48 49 50.
He agrees to help support Xu Duoduo with mutant cores while the squad keeps her abilities private. As the typhoon reaches the base and alarms warn of mutant birds and insects, the team prepares for defensive duty and possible rescue operations 50.
Headquarters Rescue Preparation and Rookie Mentorship
Before a Headquarters rescue operation, Wang Weihu and the others warn Xu Duoduo about Jin Chuanqiong’s ruthless behavior. Qin Luo assigns him to teach her boxing during three days of intensive training. He also hosts the squad for dinner and agrees to cook reserve meals using ingredients, four air fryers, and three pressure cookers from her space 61.
He collects his custom gauntlets before departure and participates in the squad’s fighting against the giant Zombie Monster. As the Cheetah Squad and White Dove Squad become attached to 3A, he takes responsibility for pointing out their tactical mistakes and insisting on further training 62 72 82.
City I, City R, and City E Missions
Wang Weihu shares overnight driving duties on the journey to City I. During the marine-creature crisis, he warns of dangerous swarming bugs, scolds a stranded squad for provoking a Three-Star mutant lobster without calling for help, and drives 3A toward higher ground when the tide returns 92 97.
On the journey to City R, he warns the other squads to keep their engines running in the extreme cold. Subsequent serum treatment strengthens his earth ability before the City E mission, where he proposes crushing hostile robots with solid earth. After the mechanical threat is destroyed, he helps drive the exhausted team back to base 121 146 156 173.
Wa Country Evacuation
In Wa Country, Wang Weihu communicates with allied foreign representatives and demonstrates flexible earth techniques against hostile Freedom Faction combatants. When a tsunami approaches, his warning interrupts Bai Shu and Chen Xiaofei’s pursuit of Jin Chuanqiong 198 200 207.
He helps the Cheetah Squad, White Dove Squad, and exhausted Rose Squad board airships, then remains behind to regulate the crowded landing area and wait for his own teammates. He refuses available places on departing aircraft rather than leave 3A incomplete. Once the squad reunites and escapes, he finally relaxes as they witness the wave engulf the island 207 208.
Lizard People Battles and Earthen Army Experiments
Wang Weihu combines combat with rescue during the Lizard People attacks, stopping an enemy with earth spikes while tending a wounded Yellow Sand Squad survivor. In a later battle against a Six-Star Lizard Person, he repeatedly repairs damaged walls and floors until he overuses his ability 233 248.
After the squad’s confrontation with a Seven Star mutant, he brings breakfast to the hospital ward and encourages the exhausted medical staff to rest. He joins the others in protecting the secrecy of Xu Duoduo’s spatial abilities 254.
He subsequently shares Lizard People combat experience with younger squads. Fei’s prediction that he will one day command an army of earthen soldiers encourages his experiments, although his figures are not yet powerful combatants 272 287.
Overseas Rescue and Forest Survival
During the overseas rescue operation, Wang Weihu continues managing difficult survivors and ensuring they evacuate rather than remain exposed to zombies. After the airship crashes, he regroups with Bai Shu and Chen Xiaofei, contacts Cao Wenzhou’s party, and carries the weakened Chen Xiaofei through the forest 311 315.
He builds a furnished stilt shelter for the stranded teams. When a Five-Star Vulture attacks, Qin Luo leaves it to him, Bai Shu, and Chen Xiaofei for practice; Wang Weihu blocks a Wind Blade with an earthen shield. Later, he remains behind to protect survivors in another temporary shelter while Qin Luo and Xu Duoduo continue their rescue work 320 344.
Sixth-Tier Breakthrough and K City Investigation
While fighting a Six-Star Giant Zombie at late Tier Five, Wang Weihu senses a breakthrough as his ability approaches depletion. Bai Shu and Chen Xiaofei give him an opening to attack alone. His enormous earthen sword shears away half the monster’s body, and he emerges from the subsequent impact in complete tiger form after reaching Sixth Tier 402 403 404.
During the investigation of a concealed Wandering Team hideout in K City, he suffers an embarrassing involuntary reversion from beast form. The squad then investigates in women’s disguises; despite his discomfort, he refuses to separate from his teammates. Being recognized in a maid outfit by the Charge Squad further embarrasses him, but he redirects his frustration into combat and successfully creates two armed earthen warriors 408 411 413 416.
During the following operation in extreme heat, he develops a fever from recent advancement and ability overuse. Chen Xiaofei stays to care for him, and a Healing-Type Ability User soon restores him so he can resume fighting 429 431.
Border Defense Base Siege
At the Border Defense Base, Wang Weihu warns other teams about the danger to lower-tier fighters and sharply reins in rookies who become recklessly absorbed in battle. When an earthquake leaves people trapped in the ruins, he participates in rescue and casualty recovery while the others fight the surrounding monsters 455 457 460.
His Heng Ha Generals retrieve the bodies of fallen soldiers, including Yu Jia and Drunkard. During ten days of continuous fighting, he advances to Eighth Tier, and his earthen force expands to hundreds of warriors 460 463 467.
On the return journey, fragments of possible memories of being eaten by monsters distress him despite his restored body. Cao Wenzhou urges the squad not to force themselves to relive the trauma. Their return to H City brings relief, but the survivors continue to remember those who died 467.
M Country Arsenal Raid and Final Base Defense
Wang Weihu supports the Cheetah Squad, White Dove Squad, and Charge Squad during the raid on M Country’s arsenal, avoiding his recognizable earth soldiers. He records their performance and delivers a detailed tactical review afterward. His patient instruction prompts Qin Luo and Bai Shu to agree that training newcomers would suit him after the apocalypse 490.
During the final assault on H City Survivor Base, he exhausts his ability repairing its protective barrier. The effort leaves him kneeling and bleeding heavily until Xu Duoduo administers medicine and nutrient solution. Although stabilized, he remains behind to guard the restored defenses while recovering, promising to send Earth Soldiers once able; Xu Duoduo gives him a Spatial Protective Shield before returning to battle 511 512.
Afterward, he supports holding a large celebration that recognizes the contributions of researchers, medical personnel, and the other combat squads 515.
Post-Apocalypse Life and Romantic Prospects
After the apocalypse, Wang Weihu settles into a disciplined routine of exercise, breakfast deliveries, motorcycle rides, and rookie training. A beautiful woman approaches him for his contact information and invites him to a newly opened tavern. Chen Xiaofei and Bai Shu secretly follow, and Qin Luo and Xu Duoduo join them out of concern and curiosity 528.
The date reveals his difficulty recognizing romantic expectations. He fails to notice the woman’s changed appearance and sees a clean blanket as more practical than offering his jacket. Although he genuinely likes her, he ultimately decides not to pursue another date because their mismatch could cause him to hurt her feelings unintentionally. His teammates admire the consideration behind his blunt manner and accompany him home 529.
