Chen Xiaofei sat in the front passenger seat, Bai Shu took the upper bunk on the left, Qin Luo took the lower one, and Xu Duoduo took the lower bunk on the right. They opened the windows and shot at the zombies.
With their mutant abilities strengthened, they no longer needed to pick up mutant cores one by one. Either Xu Duoduo retrieved them remotely or Chen Xiaofei gathered them with his wind-type ability, making their zombie killing much faster.
"This is weird. Is the new zombie virus immune to the cold? Look, these zombies can move around freely even at minus fifty-five degrees!"
Chen Xiaofei found a moment to change his magazine. The thought was pretty scary, so he complained to his teammates.
Xu Duoduo found it strange too. "We're evolving, and so are they."
Bai Shu deftly killed another few zombies, then said, "If we get a chance, let's take some blood samples and bring them back for research."
Qin Luo said seriously, "We need approval for that. Don't go doing things on your own. Anything from abroad is a sensitive matter."

They easily dealt with over two hundred zombies.
They reached the embassy without a hitch. Nothing beat the warmth of being among their own people.
