Mu Enya burst out laughing, finding their 3A team pretty entertaining. In the end, she kindly warned them about what had happened on the forum.
The four men's faces instantly darkened, while one little zombie looked utterly bewildered, with no idea what was going on.
After reading the forum post, Qin Luo and the other three sucked in sharp breaths and put their heads together, trying to figure out how anyone could think Xu Duoduo was a mistress kept by all four of them.
Were people really this ridiculous these days?
Chen Xiaofei was so frightened that he stammered, "I-I-I've never felt that way about Little Class Monitor!"
Never.
Little Class Monitor had been so intimidating in their teenage years that all he felt for her was deep respect.
Wang Weihu also made it clear that he had absolutely no such intentions. He hadn't even started thinking about romance in middle school, and afterward, he had thrown himself into fighting on the front lines. When would he ever have considered that? Besides, he preferred mature women with smoking-hot figures.
Bai Shu was even less likely. He adjusted his glasses and said, "I'm asexual."
Besides, whenever they had gotten together with other people in the past and played truth or dare, the subject of first loves always came up. The first time Qin Luo had been asked, he had blushed furiously and struggled for ages before finally admitting, under everyone's scrutiny, that his first love was Xu Duoduo, their little class monitor from middle school.
The others would let out teasing "Oohs" and make all kinds of jokes.
Once Qin Luo had made that first admission, the words came readily, and he could answer anything people asked. When asked what he liked about her, he said she was pretty, that she looked lovely when she was serious, and that even her fierce expression was cute.
All these years, whenever he went on about it, he was always talking about Xu Duoduo.
She was their buddy's sweetheart, his ideal love, the girl he had secretly liked as a teenager. Who could possibly compete with him for her? But Chen Xiaofei and the others genuinely hadn't fallen for Little Class Monitor, either. It was absurd that the forum had spun a rumor out of that photo.
Chen Xiaofei immediately exploded. "Who's the creep taking sneaky photos around here?!"
He outright shouted it.
Everyone was resting right there in the warehouse, sleeping on makeshift beds on the floor, spread out in their respective areas. Hearing the commotion, they couldn't help looking up.
Chen Xiaofei was furious. "What kind of lowlife pulls this sneaky crap behind our backs?"
Bai Shu told him to calm down. "The angrier you get, the happier they'll be. I mean it."
Wang Weihu also scanned their surroundings. The survivors didn't dare stare. They all kept their heads down, occasionally stealing a glance or two before lowering their eyes and returning to what they were doing.
The only people who could connect to the internet now were the combat teams from the various bases.
This warehouse was fairly large, housing five teams. Mu Enya's team was unlikely to be responsible. They had dealt with her team before, and all seven members were pretty decent.
Zhao Gang and his group of survivors had been handed over to Mu Enya's team. The person who had handled the earlier handover was her captain, Zhang Chi.
Excluding them left three other teams, whom they didn't know very well.
They couldn't expect to run into familiar faces every time they went out. There would always be people from other survivor bases.
Wang Weihu couldn't tell anything from looking at them. Anyone capable of going out on missions had strong nerves, so naturally, they weren't like ordinary people who couldn't hide a thing.
Qin Luo acted even faster, going straight onto the forum to clear things up and introduce their 3A team's new member-the Mutated Person Xu Duoduo.
Everyone immediately went wild.
-Holy shit! Goddess of Luo is online! And he's personally calling people out???
-A Mutated Person? They actually recruited a Mutated Person? Who is this girl?
-Aren't Mutated People under the bases' control anymore? Aren't they supposed to work at the bases?
-Anyone the 3A team accepts must be pretty powerful, right? Does she have a healing ability or a spatial ability? Those two are the rarest right now.
-Nonono, wrong guess. I just checked the new member's ID that Goddess of Luo tagged. Her profile says her mutation tendency is zombie transformation. No other abilities, just a 1.5 speed boost. All you can really say is that she's a little stronger than an ordinary person.
-Isn't their Chen Xiaofei the same type? His rating is 3.8. Isn't he way stronger than this rookie? And she's a civilian rookie, too.
-Hard to say.
-Whatever else you say, isn't the way they act together way too intimate? Who lets a new teammate lie straight in their arms? If you know, you know.
The moment Qin Luo saw that filthy insinuation, he angrily tagged the poster and snapped: Oh, so you know everything? Come on, tell us. What exactly do you know?
No one had expected him to personally trade barbs with people, and a crowd immediately gathered to watch the show.
-Oh my god, Goddess of Luo is really getting into it?
-LMAO, thanks for asking. I went to the same high school as this guy. When he gets serious, he can argue with you for ages and ages.
-Doesn't this just prove he's protecting her? All right, all right, he's head over heels. The rest of you have no chance.
The know-it-all Qin Luo had tagged immediately went silent. He probably hadn't expected Qin Luo to single him out for a confrontation, but he didn't dare actually argue with him. The completed mission count on Qin Luo's profile was just too terrifying.
The name Goddess of Luo wasn't for nothing. He was an absolute combat maniac. Never mind his record before the apocalypse-how long had it even been since the apocalypse began? He had already taken on over a hundred missions, large and small, and on missions, he was a pure damage-dealing machine.
Who would dare provoke him?
Everyone thoroughly mocked that know-it-all, too. Tonight's drama had been great entertainment.
With Qin Luo personally confronting people, the troublemakers all reined themselves in and stopped mouthing off. Instead, a bunch of people started egging things on for fun, and the matter more or less blew over.
-Since she's just a teammate, that means you don't have a girlfriend, right? Can I join 3A?
-Exactly! Can I pursue you, dear Goddess of Luo?
-Goddess of Luo, could you relax your gender requirements? Bro, what do you think of me? [Shy]
Qin Luo was left speechless. He flatly refused, then contacted Headquarters to have the thread locked. The rumor-mongering post was quickly locked, and he also asked Headquarters to investigate.
Checking someone's information after the apocalypse couldn't have been much easier. There were only so many people who could get online now, so every search hit its mark. Qin Luo soon had the information.
Then he stood up, scanned the room, locked onto his target, and strode over. "Bro, sounds like you've got plenty of opinions about our 3A team. How about we have a chat?"
Xu Duoduo watched with her own eyes as Qin Luo hauled the man out of the warehouse.
She blinked.
Wang Weihu got up and followed them, too.
Bai Shu submitted feedback on his tablet and finally got Xu Duoduo's profile updated. A bug had kept their team's emblem and name from appearing on her profile earlier, but now the update was finally complete.
The name of their 3A Special Operations Team appeared beneath her name and ID.
It showed that she had participated in three missions: the mutant monkeys at the cannery, the rest stop rescue, and the extermination of the mutated snake people. The first two hadn't earned many points. For the last one, Bai Shu hadn't reported Xu Duoduo's spatial ability, only stating that her help had been crucial and briefly glossing over the process.
But her profile looked much better now. She had, after all, participated in three proper missions.
Chen Xiaofei was still making a fuss beside them. "We really had to push them. Look, Little Class Monitor's profile wasn't updated, and it made people get all these ridiculous ideas about us."
People either thought they were chasing Little Class Monitor like lovesick doormats or that they were keeping her as a mistress.
They were just out here doing missions, yet accusations came flying off the forum and landed squarely on their heads.
Unbelievable.
