He Mu faced the Path-Proving Tribulation at the Cosmic Frontier and overcame its increasingly powerful assaults. He attained the Dao, named himself the Immeasurable Heavenly Venerable, and drew vital essence from neighboring star regions.
After attaining the Dao, He Mu returned to Ziwei as the new Heavenly Venerable and descended into the North Sea forbidden zone. There he met Longevity Heavenly Venerable, who had invited him to talk, and He Mu asked what the elder wanted.
He Mu met Longevity Heavenly Venerable inside the North Sea Eye, where Longevity revealed that he wanted to discuss an opportunity connected to the immortal Dao. The conversation ended with Longevity asking whether He Mu had heard of Lingbao Heavenly Venerable.
Longevity Heavenly Venerable told He Mu how Daode, Yuanshi Heavenly Venerable, and Lingbao Heavenly Venerable successively fought and sealed an Immortal Corpse. He Mu agreed to accompany Longevity to investigate where the corpse was sealed.
He Mu and Longevity Heavenly Venerable found Lingbao Heavenly Venerable’s sealed ruins and discovered a powerful severed arm bound by the Lingbao Sword Formation. He Mu shattered the formation and reached for the arm, but an unexpected change interrupted him.
He Mu and Longevity Heavenly Venerable fought the sinister black vapor born from the Immortal Corpse’s severed arm, but three streams escaped into the chaotic void. He Mu then announced that he would establish a Dao sanctuary on Ziwei and invited all races to pay their respects.
He Mu set aside the black mist and traveled to Ziwei for the ceremony celebrating his attainment of the Dao. He arrived at Wuliang Dao before a gathering of powerful figures and countless visitors, where his appearance marked the start of the Heavenly Venerable Ceremony.
After preaching for nine days, He Mu received the worship and faith of the gathered beings and considered how to study that power without becoming dependent on it. He returned to the Central Heavenly Palace and merged his divine sense with the Heavenly Heart Imprint to begin secluded cultivation, leaving his future progress unknown.
After three hundred years of seclusion, He Mu emerged stronger than ever, having reached the pinnacle of the world. In a desolate star domain, the wounded Ghost Mask vowed revenge on Wuliang and Changsheng for destroying its cultivation.
He Mu emerged from seclusion and was welcomed by the Wuliang Dao, where he announced plans to preach the Dao and prepare the sect for a looming danger. He Mu resolved to confront the mysterious black aura and end the calamity in this age.
He Mu toured the universe to investigate his unease and study the power of faith, then spent centuries aiding living beings and spreading the Dao. At age seven thousand, he left the mortal world to investigate a troubling possibility: Daode might still be alive.
He Mu traveled to the Immortal Mausoleum at the edge of the universe and met Heavenly Venerable Daode, who had survived his battle with the Evil Immortal. Daode explained that he was seeking a third life, and He Mu asked him to explain who the Evil Immortal was.
He Mu visited Daode Heavenly Venerable in the Immortal Mausoleum to ask about the Evil Immortal, and the two exchanged their understanding of the fiend’s past and lingering danger. They then demonstrated their Great Daos to each other, leaving Daode with new ideas for his path to immortality.
After gaining insight from Daode Heaven Venerable, He Mu discovered Undying Mountain and chose it as his Dao sanctuary. He claimed the Enlightenment Ancient Tea Tree, his first Immortal Divine Medicine since attaining the Dao.
He Mu completed his enlightenment beneath the Enlightenment Ancient Tea Tree, gaining a clue to beginning a second life through his own Dao Fruit. After securing Undying Mountain with a Heaven Venerable Grand Array, he returned to the Wuliang Dao, where his appearance shook the universe.
A demonic figure unleashed a devastating rampage across the starry heavens, while the black-mist entity behind him vowed to destroy the universe and take revenge on the Immeasurable Heaven Venerable. He Mu heard the prayers of the suffering and answered the invasion with a universe-spanning challenge.
He Mu fought Demon Shadow at the Cosmic Frontier after the black mist’s attack threatened living beings across the universe. He Mu ultimately destroyed Demon Shadow’s primordial spirit, and the battle ended with He Mu standing alone, wounded.
After defeating Demon Shadow, He Mu suspected that the Eerie Clan and the black mist were behind the threat, but resolved to focus on strengthening himself. He returned to the Undying Mountain and entered seclusion to integrate his gains and pursue the Heavenly Emperor realm.
After cultivating beneath the Enlightenment Tree for over a thousand years, He Mu reached the realm of a Heavenly Venerable and left the Undying Mountain to experience mortal life again. As he wandered through a small city, memories of his previous life surfaced and he decided to act on a thought by sending divine sense into the mortal world.
He Mu lived as a mortal in a small town for seven years, then spent a thousand years experiencing the struggles and changes of successive dynasties to complete his understanding of the mortal world. His Heavenly Venerable power returned, and he declared that he had attained his Dao.
He Mu continued cultivating in the Undying Mountain, drawing near to a transformation that could make him a Heavenly Emperor. After another three thousand years, signs that his thirteen-thousand-year reign was ending spread fear and grief throughout the universe.
He Mu’s attempt to rise above the myriad Daos nearly destabilized the Heavenly Dao, forcing him to spend time restoring its laws while the Wuliang Dao mistakenly believed he was dying. He then deliberately spread the illusion that his life was ending to lure hidden enemies into the open, and an upheaval began as the universe mourned him.
Three Ancient Supremes emerged from the forbidden zones on Feixian Ancient Star as He Mu neared death, then attacked Ziwei to lure him out and seize his blood. Ziwei's formation and the Wuliang Dao Wheel defended the star for now, but the three Supremes threatened to overwhelm them.
The Three Venerables beyond their world overwhelmed the Wuliang Grand Array and nearly destroyed Ziwei Star, but a sudden force from the heavenly heart imprint stopped them. A middle-aged Daoist arrived and faced the Three Venerables, declaring that he had come.
He Mu revealed that his apparent impending death had been a ruse to lure out the Forbidden Zone Supremes, then condemned their plan to slaughter living beings and began fighting them. The first clash ended with the three Supremes wounded and driven back while He Mu remained unmoved.
