Saving Lives
Rescue
The sudden change instantly plunged the four of them back into danger.
Is this the end? In the blink of an eye, the "Beast Tamer" lady pursed her lips, watching the attack that was about to arrive, her heart slowly sinking to the bottom.
Her role in the team is support, and her individual skill level isn't particularly high.
There was nothing that could be done about the current situation.
There is only one way out: wait to die.
In that instant, time seemed to freeze, and countless memories flooded my mind.
She saw the naive young girl who, a few years ago, was shocked to learn that her stepfather had sold her to a wealthy old man and resolutely chose to run away from home;
Seeing the girl lost deep in the jungle, starving and thirsty, collapsed under a tree, a Curly-Haired Baboon a swollen chest appeared, carrying an unknown wild fruit. It crushed the fruit and fed it to the girl bit by bit.
I saw a young girl walking out of the jungle side by side with Curly-Haired Baboon of similar height:
Seeing the girl and the Curly-Haired Baboon mingling in the crowd, gazing with admiration at a huge, golden sailboat, she finally mustered the courage to approach;
Seeing the girl standing before the aloof captain, she drank without hesitation the liquid that refracted brilliant light under the illumination;
Encouraged by the girl, the Curly-Haired Baboon reluctantly drank a cup of pure white pus stained with streaks of blood;
Seeing the Curly-Haired Baboon glance back at the girl, and with a determination no less than hers when she ran away from home, she stepped forward to stand behind a man.
A sharp scimitar pierced its body as if it were nothing.
It slowly fell, its eyes quickly losing their light, looking at the girl filled with grief and regret, and slowly opened its mouth, revealing a slight smile.

laugh.
"That's good, we'll be together again soon"—the "Beast Tamer" suppressed her lingering attachment to the world, smiled sadly, and closed her eerie green eyes.
But the anticipated attack did not occur.
She felt a sudden pain in her buttocks and was thrown several meters into the air.
After a brief moment of surprise, she snapped her eyes open and looked sharply at the spot where she had just been standing, where she saw several javelins piercing through the body of the "Folk of Rage".
She saw him struggle to open his bloodless lips, uttering a weak voice: "Damn it—woman—I—don't owe you anything anymore—"
The "Beast Tamer" woman froze for two seconds, then rushed over like a madwoman. "No!"
Ignoring their grief-stricken companions, Orpheus and "The Pugilist" barely dodged the first volley of javelins, but were still not out of danger.
Seven or eight figures rapidly approached from all directions.
Orpheus took a deep breath, summoning his last remaining Spirituality, and whispered in Ancient Hermes: "Notarization: Valid."
"The Fire of Light!"
Golden, illusory Flames appeared out of nowhere beside the two enemies, quickly spreading into an ocean and radiating a powerful, scorching aura.
Affliction screams echoed from the sea of Flames, but quickly ceased.
In less than a second, they were completely incinerated into charcoal. The Notarization "Fire of Light" can inflict sufficient damage on enemies other than undead creatures.
At the same time, the "Pugilist" picked up the javelin that had missed its target and threw it back.
One of them veered off course and plunged deep into the tree trunk; the other pierced through the enemy's chest, spraying out a cloud of blood.
At this point, both of them had almost reached their limit.
The "Pugilist" glanced around, his gaze sweeping over the remaining charging enemies before landing on the face of the "Singer," Orpheus. He suddenly spoke in a low voice, "Boss, I really envy you—"
Even in times like this, I don't feel afraid.
Unlike the other two, he was Orpheus's subordinate.
Orpheus shook his head with a wry smile, "No, actually I was very scared, which is why I secretly used my ability on myself before."
"As the leader of the team, if even I am Trembling— "
"Notary" have the ability to be "Fear Immunity," allowing a warm energy to fill their entire body, making them no longer feel fear.
He raised his uninjured left hand, rubbed his high, straight nose a couple of times, and looked back in the direction where people were disembarking from the "Golden Dream," a hint of regret flashing in his eyes.
"The Pugilist" sighed helplessly, "Boss, at a time like this, you still have the mind to worry about the captain? Besides, even if we don't die, you probably won't have much of a chance."
"The Third Mate seems to be getting quite close to her lately."
Orpheus's expression changed slightly. "Don't mention that person in front of me, he's a piece of trash—"
Danitz hadn't expected that the first thing he'd hear after they'd just emerged from the Spirit World would be this, and he couldn't help but cough twice to interrupt him, "Ahem!"
"What happened to you guys? How did you get yourselves into such a mess?"
Orpheus abruptly turned his head and saw the figure of the reinforcement gradually become fixed in his mind's eye, his eyes vacant, his lips tightly pressed together, and he remained silent.
Seeing this, the "Pugilist" chuckled inwardly and quickly spoke up for his superiors, saying, "They have a Sequence 5 who possesses abilities similar to Mithor's."
"This person is very cunning. He always hides in the shadows and only strikes suddenly at the crucial moment, changing the direction of his subordinates' attacks."
"The boss suffered such a loss right from the start, which is why he was severely damaged."
"Third Mate, you must be careful of him!"
Change attack direction -- Sequence 5 of the "Lawyer" Pathway "Mentor of Disorder"? Lorry gave an almost imperceptible nod, his gaze sweeping over the rapidly approaching enemy.
He calmly simulated "Truth Insight," then quickly rubbed the White Bone Ring, and rapidly shot out a series of cyan Wind Blade from his fingertips.
Unseen and unnoticed by others, a transparent insect composed of twelve rings quietly crawled out from the surface of the "Parasite" ring.
It stood upright, looked at a shadowy spot, and then suddenly vanished the next second.
It stole the distance, arriving directly in the shadows, silently infiltrating the "Mentor of Disorder" who concealed itself using Distortion space.

At the same time, blades of Wind Blade shot towards the approaching enemies, blooming into bloody flowers in the darkness, swiftly reaping their lives.
In the blink of an eye, the three of them lay motionless in a pool of blood.
The remaining few, though fortunate enough to dodge the first wave of Wind Blade, were terrified by the sudden appearance of reinforcements and the fierce attacks from their pursuers, turning pale with fright.
They looked at each other with fear on their faces, seeing the intention to retreat in each other's eyes, but having received no order to retreat, they could only grit their teeth and move forward at a snail's pace.
Suddenly, a very familiar voice echoed through the jungle, "Retreat!"
Upon hearing this, the group was overjoyed and turned to run away without hesitation.
In the blink of an eye, it disappeared into the darkness.
Seeing this, Danitz swayed as he was about to chase after them to avenge his companion, but before he could react, Lorry made a lightning-fast move and grabbed him by the back of the collar.
"----" His face flushed red, "Put me down!"
Lorry generously granted the Fourth Sailor-in-Charge's wish.
After landing, Danitz grumbled irritably, "Why didn't we give chase?"
Lorry's gaze swept over the withdrawn "Singer" and the "Pugilist" who was in the best condition and basically uninjured, and landed on two figures not far away.
"Saving lives is the priority," he said, striding towards the couple.
