Background / History
Earth and the beginning of cultivation
Ye Fan attended university with Pang Bo and Jin Taiyi. The three were friends before entering the cultivation world and had played soccer together; Taiyi and other classmates had also visited Ye Fan’s family during university holidays 72 530.
The Nine Dragons Pulling a Coffin carried Ye Fan and his classmates away from Mount Tai, passing through Yinghuo Ancient Star before taking them to the Big Dipper Star Domain. His separation from his parents became a central reason for cultivating and searching for a route back to Earth 213 530.
At Spirit Ruins Paradise, an elder identified his Desolate Ancient Sacred Body as a supposedly useless constitution incapable of cultivation. Pang Bo’s insistence allowed him to remain and cultivate. After the Demon Emperor’s Tomb appeared, Ye Fan obtained the Dao Scripture’s Wheel Sea Scroll and a mysterious Green Copper fragment, while Pang Bo was possessed by an old demon 72.
Fearing exposure of his treasures, Ye Fan left Spirit Ruins Paradise. An aging elder coveted him because he had consumed a Sacred Fruit, while Jiang Family knights pursued his possessions. He survived these dangers and eventually reunited with Taiyi outside the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land 71 72.
Rescuing Pang Bo and securing cultivation resources
Ye Fan traded his Wheel Sea scripture to Taiyi for the Dao Scripture’s Four Extremes Scroll. Taiyi also supplied a Forbidden Weapon for an expedition into the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land; it saved Ye Fan from a Desolate Slave but was destroyed. Ye Fan fulfilled their agreement by delivering four Sacred Fruits and several hundred jin of Divine Spring water 74 82.
To rescue Pang Bo, Ye Fan accepted Taiyi’s plan to let the Demon Emperor’s descendants place their emperor’s heart in his Bitter Sea. Taiyi concealed an Inherited Saint Weapon within him for protection. The ensuing conflict with the Ji Family created an opening to escape with Pang Bo 84 88 89.
Inside the Purple Gold Gourd, the reunited friends helped force the heart out of Ye Fan’s body. Taiyi extracted its essence blood before the heart escaped and divided the proceeds with Ye Fan, who received roughly eighteen drops 90 91.
Ye Fan later joined Clumsy Peak with Pang Bo. After obtaining the Source Root of Mother Qi of All Things, he exchanged roughly one-tenth of its essence for the Western Empress Scripture’s Dao Palace Scroll, choosing the strongest available method for his immediate needs rather than committing to a single scripture throughout all five secret realms 172 206 207.
Divine City and the Sacred Body’s curse
Using the identity Gu Feng, Ye Fan gambled on stones to accumulate the vast quantities of Source his constitution required. In the Purple Mansion Holy Land’s stone garden, he uncovered divine source, a Human Origin Fruit, and a Blazing Sun Fruit. He continued despite the Holy Lord’s hostility because delaying his cultivation meant delaying his return home 282 287 305.
His disguise was eventually exposed by Ouyang Ye, a Source Arts expert approaching the Source Earth Master level. Around the same period, Ye Fan supplied a vitality-rich medicinal liquid to help the dying Jiang Taixu 334 336.
After overcoming the Sacred Body’s Four Extremes curse, Ye Fan gained Jiang Taixu’s protection. Older powerhouses generally avoided openly attacking him, although younger cultivators continued to challenge him. He subsequently traveled to Saint Cliff and claimed the Heavenly Court Scepter 343 354 361.
Searching the starry sky
Ye Fan attempted to return to Earth aboard the Nine Dragons Pulling a Coffin without possessing Earth’s coordinates. Instead, he reached the Ziwei Star Domain and continued toward an unknown destination through a Five-Colored Altar, choosing to follow Taiyi’s route rather than return directly to Beidou 489 551.
While he was absent, Taiyi brought surviving classmates back to Earth. Pang Bo visited Ye Fan’s parents, showed them an image of their son, and used spirit medicines to improve their health. His assurance that Ye Fan remained alive gave them hope after years of uncertainty 527 530.
Ye Fan’s subsequent travels took him through Flying Immortal Star and the Human Race and Mythical Ancient Roads. He fought Young Supremes and Ancient Emperor’s Children, created the Heavenly Emperor Fist beneath a Bodhi Tree, and returned to Beidou with Ji Ziyue 619 668.
After learning that sects in Ziwei had mistaken Xiao Nannan for a human-shaped Divine Medicine and fought to seize her, Ye Fan intervened violently and recovered her 713.
Heavenly Court and later lifetimes
The Ruthless Great Emperor directed Taiyi to give Ye Fan the Dao Integration Flower. Although consuming it would allow immediate emperor attainment, he retained it as a last resort and continued seeking his own breakthrough 773 778.
Ye Fan accepted Taiyi’s invitation to join the newly established Heavenly Court. He later supported the transformation of Taiyi’s confidantes into Saint Spirits while pursuing his own succession of lifetimes 808 833.
During the Great Dream of Ten Thousand Ages, he became a fisherman, soldier, schoolteacher, beggar, king, and many other mortal identities. Ji Ziyue eventually joined one of these lives, and they had their son, Ye Yishui. After that lifetime ended, Ye Fan awakened and reunited with his family 833 834 835.
Immortal Domain campaigns and the Weird Clan
As Heavenly Court worked to reunite scattered Immortal Domain fragments, Ye Fan challenged Gu Tuo with membership in the court as the wager. He won without killing him, and Gu Tuo joined after receiving assurance that Heavenly Court would not slaughter innocents 884.
Ye Fan subsequently fought in the wars against dark forces and the Four Extremes Floating Soil. Under Taiyi’s guidance, he developed a cultivation system distinct from the Secret Realm Method, eventually breaking into the Immortal King realm and killing Dark Immortal King Giants 898 903 904 908 909.
While hunted by the Weird Clan, Ye Fan attained the Immortal Emperor realm and permanently destroyed an End-of-the-Road Immortal Emperor. The Plateau’s escalating response ultimately overwhelmed the defenders; Ye Fan died with the others in the final battle described 921.
Appearance
- Sacred Fruit-induced youth: Looked approximately thirteen years old when reunited with Pang Bo, despite possessing a physique far stronger than an ordinary person’s 82 90.
- Black hair and luminous skin: Emerged from his fifth Dao Palace breakthrough with loose black hair, lightning-like eyes, and skin shimmering with luster 304.
- Golden blood qi: His Sacred Body repeatedly manifests surging golden vitality, including during tribulations and large-scale battles 343 630.
- Immortal appearance: Still looked like a man in his twenties upon beginning his ninth lifetime 876.
- Battle dress: Appears in golden battle armor in the image Pang Bo shows his parents; later fights Dark Immortal Kings in bloodstained white robes 530 908.
Personality
Ye Fan’s determination is closely tied to family. Even after learning the enormous resource demands and possible fatal consequences of cultivating his Sacred Body, he refuses to abandon the search for a way home. Early in his journey, he avoids romantic attachments in Beidou because he does not want additional ties distracting him from his parents 73 213 282.
He is intensely loyal to friends. Pang Bo’s possession troubles him throughout their separation, and he repeatedly presses Taiyi to arrange a rescue. He also asks for help protecting classmates held by the great powers and later risks himself to recover Xiao Nannan 72 73 82 83 713.
Though reserved rather than overbearing, Ye Fan considers himself inferior to no one. Seeing stronger contemporaries generally reinforces his resolve instead of discouraging him. He nevertheless acknowledges Taiyi’s exceptional strength and talent without denying the gap between them 257 638 900.
His generosity is deliberate rather than indiscriminate. In gratitude for Taiyi’s repeated assistance, he supplies substantially more Mother Qi essence than Taiyi expects. His treatment of Gu Tuo likewise shows restraint: he wins decisively but spares an opponent who can become an ally 207 884.
Abilities & Skills
Desolate Ancient Sacred Body
- Exceptional physical strength: Even at low cultivation, his Sacred Fruit-tempered body surpassed elders of the Ji Family, Jiang Family, and Yaoguang Holy Land in raw strength. This advantage became especially decisive where divine power and supernatural arts were sealed 76.
- Durability: His fifth Dao Palace physique was compared to divine metal. Much later, the Black Emperor broke several teeth attempting to bite his sleeping Heavenly Emperor body 304 833.
- Sacred Body visions: His Four Extremes tribulation displayed Immortal King Overlooks the Nine Heavens, Yin-Yang Life-and-Death Diagram, Chaos Seeds the Green Lotus, and Splendid Mountains and Rivers 343.
- Cultivation obstacles: Required extraordinary quantities of Source, and the Four Extremes breakthrough attracted an Innate Dao Diagram capable of severing his Dao foundation 304 343.
- Demonstrated combat strength: Destroyed a Saint-level Saint Spirit in a direct contest of physical strength without outside assistance 630.

| Self-created Ancient Scripture | Developed by his Quasi-Emperor years; its quality impressed Yan Fei during their exchanges 737. |
- Mixed-scripture approach: Chose the strongest available method for each immediate stage despite Yao Xi’s warning that different scriptures might prevent the Five Great Secret Realms from connecting 206 207.
Nine Secrets
- Dou / Battle Saint Method: Learned from Jiang Taixu after finding him imprisoned in Purple Mountain 263.
- Jie: Acquired when Clumsy Peak’s inheritance manifested 173.
- Complete combination: Eventually wielded all nine secrets together—Lin, Bing, Dou, Zhe, Jie, Shu, Zu, Qian, and Xing—fusing their radiances into a single attack while fighting five Quasi-Immortal Kings 898.
- Early practical limitation: Relying too heavily on the Nine Secrets risked exposing coveted techniques. Taiyi’s additional teachings gave him alternatives 264.
Fist Techniques and Seals
- Six Paths of Reincarnation Fist: Used to destroy a Saint Spirit during the fighting on the ancient trial roads 630.
- Heavenly Emperor Fist: Created after comprehending the Dao beneath the Bodhi Tree on the Mythical Ancient Road. Remained a central weapon against Gu Tuo and Dark Immortal King Giants 668 884 908 909.
- Heaven, Earth, and Human Seals: Received from Taiyi, together with other techniques from a Saint-Sage Secret Realm. These expanded his combat repertoire beyond the Battle Saint Method 264.
Source Arts
- Source Heaven Book: Sought the book in Purple Mountain and later lent it to Taiyi in an exchange involving combat techniques 263 264.
- Stone appraisal and cutting: Extracted divine source and rare life-extending fruits from Holy Land stone gardens to fund his cultivation 283 287.
- Source Heaven Divine Sense: Had cultivated the ability by his Divine City gambling period, but had not yet strengthened it with stone gall or developed true sight capable of seeing through objects 287.
- Disguise limitation: His Gu Feng identity was penetrated by the more advanced Source Arts expert Ouyang Ye 334.
Great Dream of Ten Thousand Ages
- Purpose: Tempers the heart and Dao through many lifetimes, intertwining dreams with lived mortal experience 833 834.
- Applications: Experienced hundreds of identities, from destitute beggars to kings, over more than twenty thousand years 834.
- Physical consequences: His mortal immersion became so complete that ordinary iron could injure a body normally resistant even to Immortal Artifacts 833 834.
- Risk: The method can leave its practitioner permanently lost in dreams; his initial transformation nearly killed him 833.
Self-Created Cultivation System
- Independent path: Developed under Taiyi’s guidance as a system distinct from the Secret Realm Method 898.
- Immortal foundation: Attained the Red Dust Immortal Dao Fruit through nine self-driven transformations without taking Immortal Medicine 898 904.
- Cross-realm strength: Reached the immortal peak and could attack Immortal Kings before his formal breakthrough 903.
- Breakthrough result: Entered directly among the strongest Immortal King Giants rather than beginning as an ordinary Immortal King 904.
