Honorific name
Even without the "Banishment City" Morola, Lumian always felt that Morola was vividly alive, right before his eyes, when he looked at the document that Ludwig had "stolen," because the Recording described every custom and characteristic of the city in detail, so that even people who had never been there could intuitively imagine what it would be like.
As it turns out, the "Magician" Lady now tells him that there is no such "Banishment City" as Morola within Lenburg!
"I read it so carefully, so nervously and scared, and then I was told, 'Sorry, I made all of the above up'?" Lumian felt a huge sense of absurdity, but then he looked back at the letter, wanting to see what the "Magician" Lady had to say.
The Major Arcana holder remarked in his usual joking tone, "Perhaps the person who wrote this information about the Sealed Artifact had gone mad and imagined a ' Banishment City ' called Morola."
"Perhaps it was a huge prison nestled in the mountains, guarded by jailers who provided supplies that it could not obtain on its own, and with no other contact with the outside world."
"Perhaps Morola really is a fictional ' Banishment City ' (https://m. hetushu. com. com), but in a sense, it already exists..."
"Don't think the first and third guesses are absurd, exaggerated, or impossible. Let me tell you, when it comes to '0' level Sealed Artifact, there are a lot of things that defy common sense and intuition, especially since this is '0-01'."
"Personally, I like the first guess the most. It has a strange kind of beauty: the maddened guardian wrote a document full of ramblings and delusions about the Sealed Artifact, and treated it as real. But where is the real one? Where did it go? Is it no longer in the same place?"
Upon seeing this, Lumian felt a chill run down his spine, and his hair stood on end.
The "Magician" Lady presents some truly terrifying possibilities, and with seemingly casual strokes, rather lighthearted descriptions, and a series of questions, she creates an atmosphere that is both calm and Distortion, pushing your nerves to the limit, making you afraid that careful thought will drive you insane.
"Isn't this better than most bestselling novelists' ability to tell horror stories?" Lumian muttered to himself, criticizing his Major Arcana.
He shook his head, putting "0-01" and "Banishment City" Morola out of his mind, and didn't dwell on them.
He was afraid that he would go crazy if he kept thinking about it.
This is not impossible. Since reading that document, Lumian has not slept. Although he has eliminated his fatigue by resetting his physical state at 6 a. m. every day, he occasionally hears some indescribable, chilling sounds, like calls from the Depths of the mountains.
Huff... Lumian let out a breath and continued reading the letter:
"Okay, I won't scare you anymore. In short, before you actually get to know '0-01,' don't blindly dismiss any guesses or possibilities."
"I've confirmed the auditory hallucinations you mentioned. It's a mild Corruption caused by reading the '0-01' data. Some things can cause Corruption simply by knowing their names, not their code names. Fortunately, your Destiny is linked to that guy with the long name, which is equivalent to having Angel-Level in a way. You also have the seal of Mr. The Fool, the aura of the Blood Emperor, and other higher-level things within you. That's why you only experienced some auditory hallucinations and felt that call, instead of suddenly becoming paranoid and extreme, wanting to search for the treasure in the mountains and ultimately disappearing one night."
The "Magician" Lady really likes to tell scary stories, and she always has to expand what can be explained in a few words into what "I" might encounter... Lumian has known his Major Arcana for some time now, and they have exchanged letters countless times. He is quite familiar with her word choice and writing style.
"Just a reminder, you are in a sense equivalent to Angel-Level, but you are not susceptible to the kind of Corruption that makes those with higher Sequence more vulnerable. This is what makes you special and why you can go to many special places. As a result, some beings want to take advantage of this. You need to be careful, cautious, and constantly examine yourself."
"By the way, on behalf of Miss ' Justice ' and ' Judgement,' I'd like to thank you. The discovery of the '0-01' data and the clear location of Vermonda Soren allowed them to complete a task assigned by Mr. ' The Fool ' before Slumber, which is why the reward this time is so generous..."
"Your concerns are valid. Once the initial tracking is missed, any traces left by the ' Wandering Poet,' the ' Madwoman,' or other Core Member the 'April Fools' April Fool's Day are more likely to be traps than clues. Of course, traps can provide some information, and as long as you can withstand the corresponding danger, you can find out who dug the trap at https://m. hetu. com."
"If, and I mean if, while investigating the whereabouts of the Core Member ' April Fool's Day ', you discover the high-level book Sequence holders of the three Pathway: ' Seer,' ' Apprentice,' and ' Thief,' you may recite my name and ask me for help."
"Remember, this is my name, and it comes with the effect of being kept secret and not to be revealed to outsiders:"
"Traveler Who Wanders the Starry Sky, Scion of the King of Yellow and Black, Mage Who Records the World."
"King of Yellow and Black" is another name for Mr. The Fool... Wandering the Starry Sky and Recording the world, sounds impressive... Is he really the "Angel of Stars" from the Holy Scripture? As Lumian memorized it, he saw that Honorific Name gradually fading away, as if it had been erased or swallowed by the void.
At the end of the letter, the "Magician" Lady wrote, "The Knight of Swords Minor Arcana belonging to the ' Hermit ' Lady, went to Feynapotter a few months ago for some reason. If you need help or intelligence support when you get there, you can contact him."
His Messenger was:
"A strange creature that roams the Upper Realm, Half-Fairy who plucks the strings of a harp, Messenger belonging exclusively to the ' Knight of Swords '."
Half-Fairy... Lumian had vaguely seen information about similar Spirit World Creature, but at the time she mainly browsed quickly to select suitable Contract partners and didn't look at it carefully, so she can hardly remember it now.
At the same time, he noticed that the "Knight of Swords" Messenger Incantation did not use the conventional format, possibly out of fear that the enemy would guess the correct Three-Part Description, summon his Messenger, and thus target him.
Since there's a limiting phrase like "Messenger exclusively for the Knight of Swords," the second sentence doesn't necessarily have to describe it as friendly towards humans. Besides, since someone can become Messenger for the "Knight of Swords," it's perfectly acceptable to assume they're friendly towards humans.
Lumian read through Lady "Magician's " letter again from beginning to end, worried that he might miss the important information hidden in the witty remarks.
Suddenly, there was a loud knocking on the bedroom door.
At the same time Lumian looked up, the door creaked open, and Ludwig poked his head, which looked slightly thick with baby fat, and said blankly, "I'm hungry, it's time for you to cook."
"Didn't you just eat so much cake and cookies?" Lumian asked, a slight smile playing on her lips.
"That's dessert, not a main course," Ludwig said seriously.
Then, he quietly licked his lips:
"Besides, your cooking is quite good, and those dishes are rather unique. With Cook around, I don't want to eat raw beef, hard Bread, and freshly bought potatoes."
The little boy's expression held a hint of pleading.
Lumian chuckled.
Why don't you do it yourself?
"I need to recover a bit more before I can do it myself," Ludwig replied instinctively, then quickly changed his tone, "I'm still just a child, and you're making me cook in the kitchen by myself? Aren't you afraid I'll get hurt by a knife or burned?"
I'm afraid you'll eat the knife... What do you mean by "you need to recover a bit more before you can do it"? Is someone with a higher power Sequence than the current "Cook"? Does that mean you can't cook if you're not Cook? Lumian saw Ludwig pressed against the door frame, looking at him with expectant brown eyes, and suddenly felt that this scene was somewhat familiar.
He had once begged his Older Sister Aurora in the same way.
Lumian sighed, stood up, and said, "I'll only be responsible for cooking three meals a day. The rest of the time, you'll have to make do with desserts, Bread, and cold dishes. Don't bother me."
As he spoke, he left the bedroom and went into the kitchen.
While he was busy cooking, wearing an apron, Ludwig, dressed in Caramel coat, waited at the kitchen door, wiping his mouth every now and then.
After Lumian fried a Steak, he picked it up and tossed it casually outside.
Ludwig caught it quickly and tore it into his stomach in a few bites.
Seeing this, Lumian chuckled inwardly, thinking that this guy was even more outrageous than he had been back then.
Underground Trier, inside a Quarry Cavern.
Lumian stood before the prepared Altar, beside him the "Spirit Wall" that had just been dispelled.
He has completed the Summoning Ritual of the "Contracted One" and gained two new Contract Ability. He is waiting for Franca and the others to arrive to see who will successfully possess the Messenger.
One of those two abilities is "Shadow Transformation," which allows Lumian to truly transform into a shadow, becoming part of it, thereby achieving the purpose of Concealment and stealth, which is what he currently lacks.
Such abilities also exist within the Mysticism knowledge inherent in those Contracted One, but Lumian chose to seek them from the information on Spirit World Creature provided by the "Magician" Lady, thus preventing the Gifted of Fate from guessing what kind of negative influence he was enduring.
Ultimately, Lumian Contract Spirit World Creature called "Thin, Elongated Monster Shadow," sacrificing six portions of fresh beef and sheep flesh in exchange for this ability. In return, he became more afraid of Sunlight than Ordinary Person.
This is not as extreme as Vampire fearing Sunlight; Lumian, with his "Ascetic" endurance, can easily withstand it.
Another ability he acquired was "Fictional Bottle." He found this ability, which the Parish Priest had demonstrated, to be very unique and practical. It could effectively filter out enemies and create a Concealment space from which they could not escape, with only the bottle opening allowing them to leave, but which could also be fitted with traps.
This was an ability that none of the Spirit World Creature he knew of could provide, so he could only summon the creature called "Face of Fantasy" and use a bottle of blood with strong spiritual power to complete the Contract.
The blood had to come from at least Sequence 7 or higher Beyonder or a corresponding Supernatural being. Lumian certainly wouldn't use his own, because offering his blood to the "Face of Fantasy" could cause him to slowly turn into Monster. He used the blood that the "Magician" Lady had extracted from Gardner Martin's Corpse —one of the Auxiliary Ingredient for the "Reaper," and the quantity was sufficient and plentiful.
The corresponding negative impact is that it breeds Greed.
Before long, Franca, Jenna, and Anthony arrived at the Quarry Cavern.
