Background / History
The King rules the City of Slaughter from Slaughter Castle. He enjoys its luxuries but recognizes that Spirit Hall is too powerful for him to confront openly. When Pope Bibi Dong demands protection for her disciple Hu Liena, and later for Yu Xiaogang, he complies despite resenting her threats 261 279 280.
After learning of Bibi Dong’s feelings for Yu Xiaogang, he gives Yu preferential treatment and has a Slaughter Maid monitor him. He uses Yu to draw Bibi Dong back to the city, intending to drug and overpower her. The plan leads to a battle that destroys Slaughter Castle. Xiao Yu and Bibi Dong later return to confront him; cornered by their attacks, the King dissolves his possession and releases Tang Chen. Their ensuing clash devastates much of the inner city and destroys the Hell Slaughter Arena 281 294 302 311 324.
The King subsequently rules again in Tang Chen’s body, under Bibi Dong’s influence. At her direction, he allows Tang San into the city and works to manipulate him and Tang Hao. After Tang San leaves, the King travels to the Clear Sky Sect as Tang Chen and seeks help with a divine assignment to find an unknown god. When Bibi Dong’s Rakshasa inheritance disappears, the restriction controlling him disappears too; he retains Tang Chen’s memories and no longer obeys her 338 347 354 374 426.

He kills a maid to drink her blood, cultivates Yu Xiaogang’s dependence for leverage over Bibi Dong, and treats Tang Hao and Tang San’s suffering as entertainment 261 294 347. His ambition has limits: he backs down when Spirit Hall’s strength threatens his position and later tries to bargain for his life when Bibi Dong returns 280 321.
