Background / History
Present Life and the Fate Simulation
Su Yi transmigrated to the Douluo Continent six years before his martial soul awakening. His parents in this life had died, leaving him dependent on village chief Old Tom’s support. At the awakening ceremony, he was the only one of Emperor Soul Village’s eight children to possess soul power, though his Blue Silver Grass and innate level-one power left him disappointed 1.
The Fate Simulation system bound to him after the ceremony. He selected Ah Yin as his first Fated One and drew the golden legendary talent Top-Tier Comprehension, giving his simulated life a means to overcome its poor starting aptitude 1.
Childhood in the First Simulation
In the simulated life, Su Yi published influential theories about Soul Master development and self-created soul skills under the name Lin Mo. He declined Spirit Hall’s invitation, secretly earned tens of millions of gold soul coins, and established an intelligence organization spanning Heaven Dou City. His simulated parents rejected him after his awakening, and he ran away at age eight 2.
At nine, he entered Dugu Bo’s Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well while its owner was absent. After tempering his body, he took the remaining immortal herbs, spiritual soil, and spring water. He left medicinal compensation, poison-treatment advice, and a promise to repay the theft 2.
His family was later slaughtered during a purge associated with Xue Qinghe’s faction. Initially uninterested in revenge, Su Yi retaliated only after that faction hunted him, exposing Qian Renxue’s disguise and Spirit Hall’s infiltration scheme. He then rejected Xue Beng’s recruitment offer, survived a sustained pursuit, and escaped into a concealed waterfall cave near Holy Soul Village 3.
Life with Ah Yin
Su Yi found Ah Yin in the cave and subsequently cared for her. She had lost her memories and retained only several thousand years of cultivation. After initially suspecting deception, he accepted her advice to develop Blue Silver Grass around its life attribute 4 5.
Their life together combined cultivation, research, and the restoration of Ah Yin’s strength. When her growing aura became dangerous to conceal, Su Yi brought her to the Blue Silver Forest. He encouraged her to become an independent ruler responsible for her clan rather than abandon that responsibility for romance 6 8.
He refused her offer to make him another Blue Silver Emperor, arguing that the clan should not entrust its survival to a human outsider whose interests might eventually conflict with its own. He instead pledged to support Ah Yin as family; she responded by creating his Life-bound Soul Ring 15 16.
As Ah Yin’s former attachments complicated their relationship, Su Yi concluded that he could not possess her whole heart. He left her a farewell note and an azure hairpin containing a fragment of his consciousness, memories, and affection. His departure was both an emotional retreat and a deliberate attempt to leave an enduring mark on her 22.
Independent Training and Research
Su Yi spent one hundred days observing the Breaking Clan’s spear practice from outside its village. He integrated its penetrating force with Blue Silver Grass’s resilience, then tested his art against clan members. His confrontation culminated in surviving the Seventh Elder’s Soul Breaking True Body attack. He refused Yang Wudi’s offer of discipleship and escaped rather than join the clan 30 31 33.
He later settled his debt with Dugu Bo by leaving an External Soul Bone intended to protect the Dugu family’s descendants from inherited poison backlash. Their reconciliation developed into friendship and a period of poison research at Dugu Manor, where Su Yi devised Poison Body Tempering and proposed an External Condensation Method for forming a Soul Core 35 36.
Recognizing the Simulation’s Reality
Su Yi eventually questioned whether the simulated experiences were fictional. The system explained that each simulated Su Yi was a projection of his unique soul across timelines, while other people’s counterparts were independent individuals sharing the same true spirit. The Fated One’s inherited memories were not possession, but could still cause severe soul damage if they conflicted with her existing attachments 39.
Despite learning these risks, he continued the simulation. His simulated self traveled to Spirit City to resolve his feelings about Qian Renxue, studied plant knowledge from Chrysanthemum Douluo’s collection, and confronted Qian Renxue in battle 39 45 51.
The Far North and His Own Path
Su Yi discovered roughly forty pieces of ten-thousand-year Profound Ice Marrow beneath Xi City. He offered the location to the Snow Empress in exchange for three hundred-thousand-year rings, leaving one piece as a greeting gift. Yiyi’s subsequent sacrifice supplied his seventh ring and right arm soul bone 60 62 63.
After reaching rank ninety, he declined another proposed sacrifice and chose to seek a fire-attribute ring in Star Dou Great Forest to restore his body’s ice-and-fire balance. Later, he refused the Nature Goddess’s inheritance, preferring to forge his own route to godhood rather than accept the constraints of an existing divine position 67 71.
Appearance
- Childhood: Refined features, a thin frame, and slender shoulders; wears an old shirt washed pale 1.
- Bearing: Unusually composed for his age, repeatedly compared to upright green bamboo 1 51.
- Offensive Martial Soul Avatar: Wears armor combining icy white, deep blue, and pale gold, with winglike vines at the shoulders and an ice-blue crystal at the breastplate. His eyes become ice blue and pale gold, and an ice-blue Blue Silver Grass mark appears between his brows 63.
- After the Nature Goddess’s offer: Retains a faint jade-green seedling or leaflike mark on his forehead after the divine phenomenon subsides 71.
Personality
Su Yi combines caution with a willingness to provoke powerful enemies when pressured. He initially prioritizes survival over avenging his simulated family, but destroys Qian Renxue’s undercover operation when her faction pursues him. He also refuses recruitment by Xue Beng and later rejects Yang Wudi’s demand that he join the Breaking Clan 3 33.
His research is methodical but physically risky. While developing the Zhou Tian Star Dou Art, he repeatedly injures his meridians and corrects dangerous circulation routes through careful observation. He also acknowledges weaknesses in his combat experience and actively seeks opponents who can expose them 6 13 30.
His concern for human–soul beast coexistence rests on long-term survival rather than simply favoring one side. He regards the destruction of soul beasts and nature as a threat to humanity’s own future, and wants to replace a cultivation system that requires hunting soul beasts for advancement 11 27.
His affection for Ah Yin includes both genuine care and calculated influence. He helps nurture the remains of a soul beast they killed, supports her identity and responsibilities, and refuses imperial power at her clan’s expense. At the same time, he deliberately adapts stories to shape her outlook and designs his farewell to deepen her attachment 5 8 16 22.

- Provides exceptional memory and the ability to master principles without a teacher 1.
- Enables original soul skills, cultivation methods, and adaptations of observed techniques 6 30 33.
- Helps him detect unstable soul-power circulation before it becomes fatal, but does not prevent all experimental injuries 6.
Blue Silver Grass Soul Skills

| Myriad Forms Mimicry | Third ring — 9,000-year Formless Source Beast | Rapidly changes Blue Silver Grass’s shape, texture, and density, with precise control over different sections. Can produce practical tools such as a broad-bladed shovel 9 13. |

- Head soul bone: Provides two skills whose power increases with his spiritual enhancement; their names are not given in the supplied passage 68.
Poison Arts and Soul Core Research
