Power Progression

Sagros and Lin En grow together: improvements to either strengthen the other. The soul-power ranks below identify Lin En’s documented milestones rather than assigning him and Sagros separate numerical ranks 8.

Background and History

Awakening and Nuoding Academy

Before transmigrating, Lin En knew Sagros from a game. He recalled being electrocuted after smashing his monitor in anger over Garlic Head defeating Sagros and Icarus. During his awakening in Emperor Soul Village, he discovered that Sagros had accompanied him into his new life 1.

Su Yuntao dismissed Sagros as a “trash martial soul” despite Lin En’s innate full soul power. Sagros soon demonstrated otherwise at Nuoding Academy, sending Wang Sheng flying with a kick when the dormitory leader tried to intimidate Lin En. Lin En introduced him to the other students as both his martial soul and his most important companion 1 4.

After three months of command training with Lin En and Icarus, Sagros entered the Soul Hunting Forest with Lin En and Niu Dazhuang. He killed a ten-year Wind Baboon, then helped defeat an eight-hundred-year Ghost Tiger. His unexpected use of Dark Flame made the tiger’s ring safe for Lin En to absorb 6 7.

At the academy, Sagros defeated Tang San by cutting through Blue Silver Grass and adjusting to Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track. Lin En continued developing his potential through daily training, including squats while holding a boulder dozens of times his size. By graduation, Sagros had grown from thigh-height to approximately Lin En’s height and had unlocked numerous innate skills 10 11 13.

Mercenary Work and Zhu Zhuqing

Sagros secured Lin En a place in a soul-hunting mercenary team by defeating its scar-faced leader with Instant Thought Strike. When that partnership turned hostile, Lin En ordered Sagros to kill the leader 13 14.

He then carried Lin En into the encounters with Zhu Zhuqing’s Star Luo pursuers. Sagros killed one pursuer during the first intervention and later slaughtered the remaining attackers after Lin En repeatedly charged both sides for his involvement. While traveling with Zhu Zhuqing, he also detected an approaching Man Faced Demon Spider and fought it alongside her and Lin En 15 16 18.

In the Heaven Dou Great Soul Arena, Sagros broke the Twin Star Combination’s enhancement and incapacitated both opponents. In a later wager fight, Lin En revealed his three soul rings and ordered Sagros to overwhelm the Dragon-Tiger brothers with Darkness Power and Blade Storm 28 29.

Academy Challenges and Skywater

During Lin En’s search for a strong academy team, Sagros overwhelmed Huo Wushuang and defeated the level-forty-two Feng Xiaotian. Against Feng Xiaotian’s Gale Demon Wolf Thirty-Six Consecutive Slashes, he followed Lin En’s instructions to intercept the repeated flight path and counterattack 39 40.

At Skywater Academy, Sagros served as Zhu Zhuqing’s sparring partner and helped clear the soul-hunting squad’s route through the Star Dou Great Forest. At Cloudmist Swamp, he rescued a student from a Giant Swamp Crocodile King, then fought the beast with Ning Rongrong’s support. Double Darkness Power and Blade Light River mortally wounded it, and Sagros delivered the finishing blow 45 48 56 57.

He later helped Skywater defeat the Heaven Dou Team, using clones, wing-generated winds, and aerial attacks to disrupt its formation 81 82.

Ice Dragon King Inheritance

When Lin En could not withstand the pressure beneath the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Sagros and Icarus created a barrier to carry him down to the Dragon Kings’ remains. Sagros began inheriting the Ice Dragon King’s power and soul, eventually evolving into King Sa 87 90.

Afterward, both mantises demonstrated their dragon-soul forms. The dragon souls also produced two Dragon Cores and two universal God-Level Soul Bones. Lin En saved the cores for a future breakthrough and began absorbing the bones himself 91.

Appearance

• Initial form: A small mantis with sharp, sickle-like claws, four short yellow-green legs, and a tail blade. His dark-red eyes become vividly crimson during battle 1 6 7.
• Developed form: An emerald, armor-like body with enormous golden scythes whose blades shade into green. Initially only thigh-high beside Lin En, he grows to match and then exceed his master’s height 13 14.
• Winged form: Crystalline wing blades extend from his back in a radiating pattern, resembling translucent shards of ice. By the later Shrek encounter, he stands three to four meters tall 14 50.
• King Sa: Sculpted emerald armor with crimson-gold accents, glowing red eyes, and six pointed golden wings. His enormous blades carry bright-white and fluorescent-green lightning 91.
• Dragon-soul form: The golden wings turn icy blue, while snow-and-ice patterns spread across his body amid blue-white light 91.

Personality

Sagros combines predatory aggression with affection toward Lin En. He frightens opponents through his gaze and killing intent, yet returns quietly to Lin En’s side after battle and accepts his praise and head strokes 1 6 7.

He is disciplined and eager to improve. During early battles, he waits for Lin En’s instructions rather than attacking indiscriminately, and he completes the training plans Lin En sets for him. He also acts independently when protection is needed, sounding an alarm and attacking an approaching Man Faced Demon Spider before the others are ready 6 11 18.

His attachment includes jealousy. After evolving, he resents Lin En comforting Icarus instead of focusing on his achievement. Praise and reassurance calm him, though the two mantises continue to turn away haughtily whenever their eyes meet 91.

Abilities and Skills

External Martial Soul and Shared Growth

• Independent combat: Fights outside Lin En’s body and returns to it as a streak of light 4.
• Mutually reinforcing growth: Gains strength when Lin En improves and feeds his own improvements back to Lin En 8.
• Separate ring slots: His soul-ring set is independent of Icarus’s; switching to the ringless Icarus removes Sagros’s ring from view 8.
• Mental coordination: Can execute tactics transmitted through Lin En’s intent without requiring spoken commands 56.

Dark Flame

Dark-purple flames channel a slain soul beast’s energy into Sagros 7.

• Diverts the Ghost Tiger’s most violent energy away from Lin En during ring absorption.
• Allows Lin En to absorb the eight-hundred-year ring without the expected overwhelming strain.
• Strengthens Sagros as he consumes the remaining energy 7 8.

Shadow Clone — First Soul Skill

Creates visually identical duplicates derived from the Ghost Tiger’s innate ability 8.

• Initially produces four clones, placing five Sagros figures on the field.
• Clones share his movements and expressions but dissipate when struck.
• Lin En concludes that the number can increase as Sagros grows stronger 8.
• Used to confuse the Heaven Dou Team before its members eliminate the false bodies 81.

Darkness Power — Second Soul Skill

Compresses dark energy around Sagros’s body and along his blades, substantially increasing his combat power 29 56 80.

• Double Darkness Power: Stacks the enhancement beyond a single application.
• Used before Blade Storm against the Dragon-Tiger brothers.
• Combined with Ning Rongrong’s support and Blade Light River against the Giant Swamp Crocodile King 29 56.

Blade Storm

Generates stormlike vortices along the scythes and releases a mass of overlapping blade attacks 29.

• Fills the arena with crisscrossing blade energy and flying debris.
• Accompanies Sagros’s high-speed charge into the targets.
• Demonstrated while Lin En’s two purple soul rings shine together 29.

Blade Light River — Fourth Soul Skill

Gathers immense blade energy into a descending river of light, accompanied by darkness that covers the sky 56.

• Used with Double Darkness Power and external strength-and-speed boosts.
• Tears through the darkened sky and mortally wounds the Giant Swamp Crocodile King.
• The crocodile still requires a finishing attack afterward 56 57.

Innate Blade Techniques

Sagros develops techniques beyond those granted by soul rings 13.

• Anger / Rage Enhancement: Surrounds him with a dark-purple, distorting field and increases his strength. Heightened fighting spirit further improves his power and speed during the Ghost Tiger battle 6 7.
• Tackle: A rapid charge used to close distance and strike with his blades 6 7.
• Blade Assault: Channels dark-purple currents through both blades; cuts deep wounds into the Ghost Tiger’s waist 7.
• Sharp Blade: A rushing blade attack used against Tang San 9.
• Instant Thought Strike: An exceptionally fast dash with energy condensed at the blade tip; defeats the scar-faced mercenary before he can properly respond 13.
• Leaping Double Flash: Delivers near-simultaneous attacks from opposing sides. It is also demonstrated as two projected blade arcs 18 42.
• Lone Moon Flash: Releases a single cold arc of energy toward multiple opponents 22.

• Dragon Claw Twin Fang Barrage: Forms two dragon-fang phantoms that strike from opposite sides and explode on impact 28.
• Tooth-Linked Assault: Fires repeated streams of dragon-fang blade energy; used against Feng Xiaotian and the Heaven Dou Team’s defenders 40 81.

Demon King Flame Strike Wave

Releases an energy shock wave formed between the twin blades 40 56.

Flight and Godspeed

• Flight: Carries Lin En and passengers, including Zhu Zhuqing and Shui Bing’er 22 30 44.
• Godspeed: Moves rapidly enough to leave an afterimage, evading an ambush while carrying Lin En 16.
• Wing-generated winds: Produces powerful gusts; blows Dugu Yan’s airborne Jade Phosphorous Red Poison back toward the Heaven Dou Team 56 81.

Dragon Soul · King Sa

Releases the Ice Dragon King’s soul to assist in battle and assumes an empowered ice-aspected form 91.

• Transforms his six golden wings into icy-blue crystalline wings.
• Covers his body in ice-and-snow patterns and blue-white energy.
• Provides a major strength increase, though no named attack from this form is demonstrated in the supplied chapters 91.

Defensive and Practical Skills

• Poison resistance: Shows no signs of paralysis from Dugu Yan’s Jade Phosphorous Blue Poison. This demonstrates resistance to that attack, not universal poison immunity 81.
• Threat detection: Notices the Man Faced Demon Spider’s approach and warns the camp 18.
• Intimidation: His aura frightens weaker soul beasts away from Skywater’s route 48.
• Controlled sparring: Keeps his speed one tier above Zhu Zhuqing’s during training rather than overwhelming her outright 45.
• Searching: Finds the hidden mechanism and retrieves the box containing the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone 35.

Relationships

• Lin En — Master, trainer, and closest companion. Their growth is linked, and Lin En explicitly calls Sagros his most important companion 4 8 11.
• Icarus — Fellow martial soul with an independent set of soul-ring slots. They cooperate to protect Lin En beneath the well but compete for his praise after Sagros evolves first 8 87 91.
• Zhu Zhuqing — Traveling ally and sparring partner. Sagros rescues her from pursuers, fights beside her, and later helps train her movement and combinations 15 16 18 45.
• Niu Dazhuang — Ally during Lin En’s first soul hunt. Holds the Ghost Tiger’s attention while Sagros attacks its exposed flank and abdomen 7.
• Ice Dragon King — Source of Sagros’s inheritance and evolution. Its subdued soul resides within him and enables his dragon-soul form 87 90 91.
• Ning Rongrong — Provides strength and speed enhancements during the Giant Swamp Crocodile King battle; later opposes him as part of the Heaven Dou Team 56 81.
