Background / History

Reincarnation and Nuoding Academy

Yun Tian arrives on Douluo Continent after a truck ends his previous life. Retaining his familiarity with the Douluo story, he recognizes important characters and events. His awakened Martial Soul is Sang Biao, the husky he previously raised, accompanied by a rusty spear that is explicitly not a second Martial Soul 1.

He travels to Nuoding City to research suitable rings for a canine Martial Soul and enrolls at Nuoding Academy. Sang Biao immediately frightens Tang San and later bites Xiao Wu when she kicks toward Yun Tian. Yun Tian calls the dog off and settles into Dorm Seven 1 2.

Using books borrowed from Spirit Hall, Yun Tian investigates compatible Soul Beasts and reasons that a Siberian husky might possess an ice attribute. After strengthening himself with whale rubber, he enters the Soul Hunting Forest without a warrant, kills an already gravely wounded Cold Abyss Ice Bear, and obtains his first ring and external Soul Bone 3 4.

Conflict with Yu Xiaogang

Tang San challenges Yun Tian to overcome his fear of dogs. Yun Tian initially refuses, accepting only after Yu Xiaogang substitutes his own storage bracelet for Tang San’s proposed wager. Yun Tian wins the fight, takes the bracelet, and slips away while Yu Xiaogang attempts to recruit him 5 6.

Yu Xiaogang continues pursuing him for a year. Once Yun Tian believes Tang Hao has left Nuoding City, he beats Yu Xiaogang unconscious and places him in a Spirit Hall dungeon cell deliberately selected for its three prisoners. The prisoners subsequently sexually assault Yu Xiaogang. Yun Tian leaves the city to obtain his second ring in Sunset Forest 8 9 10.

Skywater Academy

After obtaining his second ring, Yun Tian kills two would-be robbers with Sang Biao and meets Shui Bing’er and her mother, Shui Qingwu. Repeated encounters in Heaven Dou City lead to an offer of admission to Skywater Academy despite its usual exclusion of male students 11 13 14.

He accepts on the condition that he retain control over his cultivation, agreeing to help the academy pursue second place in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament. When his admission examination reveals that he is a seven-year-old rank-twenty-five Soul Grandmaster, Shui Qingwu begins considering a championship instead. She gives him a secluded mountain residence and exempts him from team training, intending to conceal him until the tournament finals 14 18.

After five years of cultivation, Yun Tian accompanies Shui Bing’er and the finalized team on their Soul Fighting trip and proposes Suotuo City as their destination. He does not compete himself; when Shui Bing’er later requests his help against a difficult opponent, he insists on keeping his promise not to take the field 18 19 24.

Dugu Bo and the Immortal Herbs

During the trip, Yun Tian takes leave to search Sunset Forest for immortal herbs. Sang Biao tracks the strong odor surrounding Dugu Bo’s Medicine Garden. Confronted by the Poison Douluo, Yun Tian identifies his recurring poisoning symptoms and offers a treatment for both him and Dugu Yan 21 22.

Yun Tian identifies herbs intended to transform their Martial Souls and resolve their poisoning problem. He also consumes two immortal herbs himself, reaching level fifty-seven before cultivating to fifty-nine. Grateful for his help, Dugu Bo gives him an Emerald Token and promises assistance whenever needed 22 23 24.

Before returning to Suotuo City, Yun Tian visits Holy Soul Village and retrieves the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone from Tang Hao’s hidden cave. Absorbing it raises him to level sixty 24.

Tang San’s Abduction and the Ginseng Trap

After noticing Shrek Academy at the Soto Great Soul Arena, Yun Tian plans to seize Tang San’s Eight Spider Lances before they fully fuse with him. He asks Dugu Bo to abduct Tang San near Heaven Dou City and bring him to the Medicine Garden 25 26 27.

Yun Tian overwhelms Tang San, restrains him with Soul Emperor-level pressure, and tears the Eight Spider Lances from his back. He leaves the injured Tang San in a cave and plants ginseng roots for Shrek’s rescuers to discover 28.

The roots genuinely accelerate Soul Power growth, but Yun Tian knows that they also alter Martial Souls, consume vitality, and sacrifice future prospects for short-term gains. Shrek’s search party retrieves eight supposed Ginseng Kings without recognizing the trap 29 32.

Far North Expedition

Yun Tian travels to the Far North to locate a forty-to-fifty-thousand-year Ice Prison Demon Dog for his sixth ring. He wants its defense-ignoring, rending attacks and considers using Dugu Bo’s help rather than attempting an immediate solo hunt 34.

The Sky Dream Ice Silkworm interrupts the expedition, trapping him inside a Spiritual Barrier and proposing a God-Making Plan. Yun Tian agrees to host the nearly million-year-old silkworm after it promises to seal its power until he becomes a Soul Saint. Upon entering his Sea of Consciousness, the silkworm senses that the space appears subject to Yun Tian’s commands 34.

Personality

Yun Tian is cautious and calculating when stronger opponents are involved. He initially avoids antagonizing Tang San and Yu Xiaogang because he fears Tang San’s concealed weapons and Tang Hao’s intervention. He also prepares his body before attempting unusually old Soul Rings rather than relying solely on luck 1 8.

He values independence and tangible benefits. He rejects Yu Xiaogang’s repeated recruitment attempts, negotiates control over his own cultivation at Skywater Academy, and turns Sang Biao’s popularity into income through paid petting and rides 1 6 14.

His caution coexists with deliberate cruelty toward enemies. His retaliation against Yu Xiaogang is premeditated, while his attack on Tang San and the ginseng trap are calculated efforts to take resources and damage Shrek Academy’s future 8 28 32.

With allies, he is more playful and affectionate. He rewards Sang Biao with jerky, teases Shui Bing’er over their relative ages, and acknowledges Dugu Bo’s sincerity after receiving his promise of help 7 19 24.

Sang Biao — Body-Detached Martial Soul

Sang Biao operates independently outside Yun Tian’s body and becomes stronger as Yun Tian grows 1 3.
