In the garage in the back alley of the Lucky Cat Coffee Shop...
Hiro first sat down at the computer, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath to calm himself.
Everything that had happened today had helped him understand a lot. Before leaving, he stood beside Tadashi's bed, looking at his brother's sleeping face, and silently swore that he would find the culprit and bring them to justice.
Although his brother was still alive, saved from his grave injuries by Lu Wen, who had suddenly appeared, the pain felt no different to him. He had to get revenge!
"Come on, Baymax. To catch that guy, we need to upgrade you first." Hiro took out a scanner and uploaded Baymax's exterior measurements to the computer.
"Will catching that masked man improve your emotional state?" Baymax asked, tilting his head.
"Absolutely!" Hiro was full of drive now, his mind occupied entirely with catching the masked man and avenging his brother.
First, he needed Baymax to learn some kung fu.
Inside the coffee shop, Lu Wen carried the sleeping Cass back to her room. After tucking her in, he carefully walked out.
When he reached the doorway, Lu Wen stopped short! He looked back into the dim room with some puzzlement.
(•ิ_•ิ)? Why does this scene... feel so familiar? I feel like I've seen it in some storyline before???
Whatever. Business first.
Hiro walked out of the garage with the upgraded Baymax. Hiro ran ahead, while Baymax followed close behind on his short little legs.
Behind them, the four friends Baymax had called over to comfort Hiro followed Hiro and Baymax closely in a car.
At the docks behind the factory, Hiro used the last Micro-Robot in his hand to find the masked man.
But... the robots blotting out the sky made the situation look rather grim.
The sudden appearance of Wasabi and the other three, in particular, left Hiro even more at a loss, since he had been determined to solve this himself.
Based on the information he had downloaded, Baymax had determined that someone suffering because a loved one had been hurt, as Hiro had been earlier beside Tadashi's bed, also needed comfort from friends and family.
Just as Hiro struggled to explain, and the especially outgoing Fred prepared to be the first to talk him through it, Callaghan, who had already spotted them, used the Swarm Robots to lift a shipping container, ready to crush them flat.
"Baymax, hurry! Grab him!" An anxious Hiro gave the order without considering anything else.
But while he was impulsive, the others weren't. Speedy Big Sister grabbed him and shoved him into the car, and Wasabi immediately started the engine.
"What are you doing? Baymax can handle him!" Hiro argued, refusing to believe otherwise.
But what greeted him was the reality of Baymax being flung away and landing butt-first on the car, caving in its roof.
"I cannot handle him," Baymax said blankly.
Seeing the robots blotting out the sky before them, the terrified group hurriedly drove away.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk~ This old geezer really has gone crazy! They were your students, after all, and you're actually trying to kill them."
Watching the group below put on their own Fast and Furious show, Lu Wen launched into his usual commentary.
The next second, Venom emerged from his body and covered his hands. Lu Wen extended a hand, and a strand of black webbing shot out and stuck to the building opposite. With a light leap, he swung away.
"Oh yeah~ I got to cosplay Spider-Man too!" Lu Wen shouted as he swung between the tall buildings.
He was now just like Eddie from the Tobey Spider-Verse. With Venom bonded to him, he had a junior version of Spider-Man's abilities! He just needed Venom fully bonded to use them.
For now, that saved him the points for a trait.
Spider-Man's way of getting around really was convenient. Taking a shortcut, Lu Wen caught up with Hiro's group after only a few swings.
He even heard that goofball Wasabi stick his head out and shout at their pursuer, asking why he wanted to kill them.
"What if he doesn't actually want to kill us?"
"He really does want to kill us!" A car hurtling toward them shattered Honey Lemon's fantasy.
Chased to the edge of a broken bridge, the group plunged into the sea. Fortunately, they had Baymax. Thanks to his inflatable robot design, he kept all five of them afloat.
"You've certainly got refined tastes, coming out for a swim in the sea in the middle of the night."
Having just escaped death, they all looked up at the voice and saw Lu Wen crouching at the edge of the broken bridge.
"Lu Wen! What are you doing here? Whoa~ oh~" Hiro cried out.
Lu Wen fired black webbing that stuck to them, then used a little strength in his arm to fling the drenched group up.
"What... was that?" Fred asked, a little dazed, still in the position he had landed in.
"And your strength is ridiculous! You pulled all five... six of us up in one go!" Honey Lemon was astonished too.
"How did you do that?" Wasabi was equally curious.
"Mr. Lu Wen's muscle density is abnormally high, and his bone density exceeds normal human standards. It is therefore reasonable that his strength far exceeds normal levels."
Baymax (●-●) remained as straightforward as ever, systematically answering their questions.
"Because I got a shot of some badass hormones!" Lu Wen said, raising his eyebrows.
"All right, everyone. I think we need to leave first, okay?" Hiro stepped forward to interrupt the conversation.
He didn't think this was a good place to chat.
"Follow me. I know a good place." Fred gave a mischievous grin.
Hiro and the others exchanged looks. Though doubtful, they still followed Fred.
After only a couple of steps, Lu Wen suddenly asked, "By the way, why does such an advanced city have a broken bridge without even a roadblock?"
"No idea," everyone answered in unison.
"It's just bizarre, you know?" Lu Wen found it extremely strange!
On the way, Hiro couldn't help asking, "So, Lu Wen, why were you there?"
"I thought you might be getting into trouble again, so I came out to check~ Don't forget, I took on your brother's request to look after you. And sure enough, I came out and found you little troublemaker stirring things up."
Lu Wen rolled his eyes at Hiro. Although he knew how the plot would unfold, he still couldn't help commenting!
From an ordinary, everyday perspective, Hiro might have been a genius, but he really was a little troublemaker too.
Hiro gave an embarrassed smile, not daring to argue.
He was afraid of getting spanked by a slap with several tons of force behind it...
"Welcome home, Master Frederick." A man in standard butler attire opened the mansion's front door, leaving the others stunned.
Well, damn. We all thought you were just here for comic relief. Who knew you had this much going for you, buddy!
Fred: I wanted to get along with you as an ordinary person, but I'm done pretending! I'm coming clean! I'm a billionaire... family's young master.
"If we hadn't just been attacked by a masked weirdo, this would definitely be the strangest thing to happen today!" Wasabi remarked incredulously.
We've been hanging out for so long, and you've been hiding this all along!
Lu Wen had to admit it! The guy had really pulled off a flex this time.
Finding somewhere to sit, Lu Wen watched in boredom as the drenched group huddled against Baymax for warmth.
Next, as they considered who the real culprit was, Fred quickly thought of the tech capitalist Alistair Ge Li.
At the mention of this man, Lu Wen finally became interested.
He had just been worrying that this trip had taken quite a bit of time without yielding enough returns, and now, here came a fat sheep ready for fleecing!
Whatever else there was, although the portal project had been shut down because of an accident, the technology was surely still in his hands!
Besides taking away Baymax's manufacturing technology and the micro Swarm Robots technology this time, he wanted to take that too.
Spatial transportation technology like that was highly sought-after anywhere. Even listing it in the Void Market could earn him plenty of points!
Sigh~ The mere mention of points made his teeth ache! He was simply too poor. Looking at the dazzling array of traits in the Trait Shop without being able to afford them was pure torment.
Opening his panel and looking at the measly 10,120 points in the points field, Lu Wen made a decision, even though he could still buy one permanent White Trait!
All in!
Buying only Gray Traits priced at ninety points for one minute, Lu Wen bought 100 of the lowest-tier, one-minute traits from the shop in one go!
They were mostly physical enhancements such as strength enhancement and speed enhancement, all from bottom-tier enhanced humans in the Marvel Universe.
After buying the traits, Lu Wen kept none of them. He doubled the price of every trait and dumped the whole lot into the Dimensional Market!
The main issue was that these were the lowest-tier traits and only lasted a minute. If he priced them too high, people might not pay! Nobody was stupid. Unless they had absolutely no choice, who would volunteer to be that sucker?
He might as well go for small margins and high volume. It was better than grinding away at cheap missions here.
