Previous Life and Rebirth

In his previous life, Shengyi belonged to a wealthy, influential family and had an IQ exceeding 140. He suffered from a terminal illness and died only five minutes before a targeted treatment was successfully synthesized. Confrontation with Konoha’s Leadership

After stopping a Kumogakure man who attempted to capture the young Uchiha prodigies, Shengyi refused to surrender the prisoner to Root. He invoked the Military Police Force’s jurisdiction over village security and ordered the Root operatives seized, dead or alive, when they attacked 13 14.

The confrontation escalated into a public dispute with Hiruzen Sarutobi. Supported by Fugaku, Shengyi challenged the Anbu’s encroachment on police authority and maneuvered Hiruzen into disbanding Root. Hiruzen, Danzo, Homura, and Koharu subsequently agreed that the Uchiha had to be eliminated 15 17.

Expecting civil war, Shengyi began the Artificial God project, administering the genetic “Key” to Fugaku, Mikoto, Itachi, and Shisui. He also trained laboratory assistants to supervise recipients during their transformations 18.

Clan Reform and the Kakashi Duel

Shengyi increased support payments for wounded veterans and bereaved families, threatening expulsion and death for anyone who stole those funds. His public revelation of the Eternal Mangekyō convinced the elders that the clan could regain its former strength 24.

He promised that the Nine-Tails would not be used to threaten Konoha and could instead defend the village against outside enemies. While investigating counterfeit Uchiha products in Kusagakure, Shengyi discovered Suzune Uzumaki being exploited for her healing ability. Hikari attacked him with Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Yachihoko. After overcoming her attacks, Shengyi learned that earlier Uchiha had raised her as a nameless weapon. He abandoned his hostility, treated her injuries, and promised that no one would force her to fight again. She agreed to return with him 49 50.

His loyalty centers on his family and clan rather than the Hokage’s office. He openly contemplates making Itachi a useful pawn and values Shisui as a future asset, yet also sincerely educates, protects, and strengthens both boys. His concern for clan casualties ultimately leads him away from an otherwise viable armed confrontation 2 8 10 30.

He can be ruthless toward enemies and corruption, but he distinguishes hostility from irredeemable malice. Hikari’s account of abuse changes his response from retaliation to sympathy and a firm promise of personal freedom 24 49 50.
