Leveling Methods

• Combat: Fighting increases Sequence power; killing Weirds provides an especially strong boost 25.
• Stronger opponents: Combat-oriented users grow faster by killing beings stronger than themselves 584.
• Weird Crystals: Absorbing their energy is a universal growth method. Higher-tier crystals can accelerate leveling, but the user’s bodily tolerance limits absorption 181 305 693.
• Energy-rich food and plants: Consuming suitable resources also increases power. Mara Flower petals take Luo Fan from Lv6 to Lv9, while an Evil Blood Fruit raises Niu Dagang by four levels 25 43 480.
• Sequence-specific activity: Accurate divination accelerates prophecy users’ growth; repairing and crafting Uncanny Artifacts helps craftsman users level 181.
• Deception: Rose gains levels through successful deception, including impersonating a rule-type Weird 521.

Higher levels generally take longer to gain. After the Yi City battle, first-tier participants benefit more than second-tier users, while third-tier participants generally gain only one level 313 571.

Professional Specialization

Becoming a Professional is the first major bottleneck. Zhao Chunfeng estimates that only about ten out of every hundred Sequence Users have any hope of succeeding; he himself reaches Lv10 in half a month but remains there for several months 21 122.

Lian Ziqiong describes Basic Sequence users as trainee “Sequence Apprentices,” with professional advancement marking the beginning of their own Sequence Transcendence Path 43.

• Potential varies: More difficult advancement requirements are associated with greater professional potential. Forum information also links a higher degree of completion to greater potential 62 149.
• The specialization persists: Advancing into higher tiers does not ordinarily replace the user’s Professional Sequence 149.

Skill Acquisition

• Newly awakened users begin with one skill; professional advancement provides a third 313.
• Skills continue awakening at later milestones. Lv21 and Lv26 respectively mark the early and late stages of the second tier 480.
• Earlier skills remain useful after specialization: third-tier users still list basic abilities such as Heavy Strike, Sap, and Spirit Void Step 318 324.

Role in Survivor Society

Sequence Users protect convoys and settlements, but their influence extends beyond combat. Healing, prediction, crafting, and potion production make noncombat specialists valuable even when they have little direct fighting power 13 520 867.

Power also shapes relations between survivor groups: stronger convoys may absorb weaker ones, while evenly matched groups negotiate as equals. Individual abilities often remain secret, especially after professional specialization 6 159.

Classification Caveats

• Weirds can imitate Sequence Users: The Qipao Weird uses concept-level power to disguise herself as the human Sequence User Lin Wanqing, even misleading Monitoring Glasses 776 778.
• A Weird can retain a named Sequence: After returning as a Weird, Rose still possesses and levels her Deceptive Enchantress Sequence 521 533.
• High level does not guarantee greater practical strength: Luo Fan is celebrated as the pinnacle of Sequence Users at Lv39 despite meeting the Lv48 Mo Yuling; equipment, rule-type abilities, and matchup advantages can outweigh level 392 586.
