Family and Business Career

Huo Yuchen is the sole heir to Huo Group, Y City’s leading enterprise. He has handled company affairs on behalf of his grandfather, Chairman Huo Ruhui, since he was eighteen. His family’s frequent charitable work, together with his appearance and status as a young, unmarried heir, made him recognizable beyond business circles before his television debut 3 90.

He agreed to participate in Return to a Simple Life at his grandfather’s insistence. Huo Ruhui hoped he would return with a grandson-in-law and chose the lifestyle program over a dating show because he considered its guests better-looking. Xu Su’s Week as His Assistant

After Xu Su agreed to work as his assistant for a week, Huo Yuchen brought him into the Huo household. He explained that a gift Xu Su received from Huo Ruhui had belonged to his late grandmother and was intended for her future granddaughter-in-law. Xu Su nevertheless assumed the gift had been given to him by mistake 38 39 40.

Nameless Island

Huo Yuchen accompanied Xu Su onto a week-long deserted-island program that was also a gay dating show. His participation attracted particular attention because appearing on it publicly signaled an interest in men. On the island, he openly clashed with Gu Xingfan, another man pursuing Xu Su 50 51 55 56.

He then produced drone footage showing that Zhuang Luo had repeatedly slapped himself after receiving a single slap from Xu Su. Confession and Marriage Agreement

Huo Yuchen later worked with his grandfather to persuade Xu Su to return to the Manor. When Xu Su finally asked whom Huo Yuchen had meant as the partner in his marriage question, Huo Yuchen replied, “You already know, don’t you?” 99 101.

While Huo Ruhui researched wedding dates, Huo Yuchen spent half an hour expanding the proposed betrothal-gift list and then carefully checked it for omissions. Despite these preparations, Xu Su continued misreading his attention, even interpreting his repeated looks at Xu Su’s eyes as a plan to take his corneas for an “honorary little sister.” Huo Yuchen explicitly denied having such a sister or any intention of taking his eyes 102 103 106.

After a month of unsuccessful hints, Huo Yuchen decided to state his intentions directly. Xu Su agreed to the proposed marriage after seeing six pages of betrothal gifts, including three billion in cash. Huo Yuchen then made clear that his affection was genuine and that his hope was for Xu Su eventually to fall in love with him 107 109.

He is equally unsparing toward Zhuang Luo, repeatedly ignoring his approaches and later telling him that his “ugly crying” will hurt the ratings 29 33 35 84.

With Xu Su, he becomes teasing, indulgent, and openly affectionate. He seeks opportunities for closeness, accepts Xu Su’s irreverent replies, and provides food, labor, and protection. His composure is not absolute, however: Xu Su catches him with reddened ears after an especially suggestive exchange 19 22 35 36 57.

His affection is accompanied by jealousy and controlling behavior. He objects to Ling Yi touching Xu Su, confronts Gu Xingfan over his pursuit, and initially interrogates Xu Su about leaving for an endorsement shoot without permission.
