Background / History
Before the apocalypse, Wang Feng and his friends were ordinary office workers with no established fighting experience. They remained together afterward, forming a six-person group that traveled with the convoy in two sedans and used walkie-talkies to communicate 14 16.
Wang Feng is separated from his wife and child. He worries that they cannot survive without protection and tells Lin Qi that he would accept his wife finding another man if it helped keep them alive. When refugees from H City reach the convoy, he searches among them for information about his wife but finds none 40 41.
Personality
Wang Feng is sociable, persistent, and willing to help people outside his immediate group. He repeatedly invites Lin Qi to join him, then offers a free walkie-talkie when Lin Qi continues to refuse. Rather than taking offense, he accepts that maintaining a positive relationship is worthwhile even without formal cooperation 13 16 25.
His generosity coexists with practical judgment. He recognizes Lin Qi’s potential early and deliberately cultivates connections with capable survivors. He also volunteers his group to assist Liu Yan’s investigation, seeing an opportunity to earn the Transcendent Squad’s goodwill 13 25 29.
He feels responsible for his companions and does not treat their lives as expendable. During the confrontation with Scarface, he attempts to withdraw rather than risk their injuries; after rescuing Lin Qi from an ambush, he apologizes to his wounded teammates and checks their condition 14 25.
Wang Feng becomes more willing to fight as the apocalypse continues, but fear can still override his intentions. He initially reaches out to rescue Lin Qi during the Mirror Ghost incident, then flees when he sees the red figure behind him. He later apologizes without trying to excuse his abandonment 25 34 36 37.
He also enjoys gossip and teasing. He jokes about Lin Qi’s pink tires and eagerly brings him news about Huang Li, briefly misreading Lin Qi’s actions as concern for his former girlfriend 40 50.
