Ch. 301A fight to the death

Ye Feng fought the ninja who had come to hunt him, killing their hot-tempered leader and then using his ability to move through the ground to cut down the attackers. The remaining two fled in terror, with one begging for his life as Ye Feng pursued them.

  • A hot-tempered ninja charged Ye Feng with a saber, but Ye Feng caught the blade barehanded and threw it back at him.
  • Ye Feng appeared behind the ninja and killed him with the Kusanagi Sword, then challenged the others to attack together.
  • Five ninja coordinated an attack, but Ye Feng disappeared underground and killed one of them from behind.
  • Ye Feng severed another ninja's leg with a strike from underground, then killed him as the others abandoned him.
  • The last three ninja fled in different directions, but Ye Feng killed one with the Kusanagi Sword as another shouted for someone to save him.

Ch. 302Scared off

Ye Feng killed the ninja who had begged for help, then faced the remaining ninjas as greed and fear kept them from working together. After most fled, Ye Feng vanished with an unfamiliar technique and struck down the small, thin ninja who had challenged him.

  • Ye Feng killed the last ninja’s pursuer, while the masked ninja stepped in to protect the survivor in exchange for his promised twenty million in assets.
  • When the survivor handed over only about three million, the masked ninja threatened him until he claimed to know where four other ninjas had hidden their wealth.
  • Ye Feng killed the survivor with his Kusanagi Sword before the masked ninja could take him away, provoking the masked ninja to declare them mortal enemies.
  • The masked ninja urged the remaining ninjas to attack Ye Feng, but several left, leaving eight behind, including Kakuzu, who remained hidden.
  • After a small, thin ninja demanded that Ye Feng fight without concealment, Ye Feng vanished using a different technique and severed the ninja’s body in two.

Ch. 303Fighting Kakuzu again

Ye Feng drove off the remaining pursuers and confronted Kakuzu, overpowering him and examining the secrets of Earth Grudge Fear. He let Kakuzu go after securing his promise to spare Asuma Sarutobi and other Konoha ninja when possible.

  • Ye Feng used an Invisibility Spirit Talisman and wind control to kill two pursuers, frightening the others into fleeing.
  • Ye Feng stopped Kakuzu from leaving and asked him to spare Asuma Sarutobi in the future.
  • Kakuzu attacked with Fire Release: Searing Migraine, but Ye Feng evaded the flames and destroyed one mask before tearing another from Kakuzu's shoulder.
  • Ye Feng examined the mask and discovered that Earth Grudge Fear sustained the body but not the brain, then returned it to Kakuzu.
  • Kakuzu agreed to Ye Feng's request to spare Konoha ninja and Asuma Sarutobi, then hurried away.

Ch. 304In exchange for the two women

After a bloody fight in Amegakure, Ye Feng prepared to leave the Land of Rain and arranged to take Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna with him. He traded the valuable spoils from the assassins’ bodies for the two women, and Shinzō of the Salamander agreed.

  • Ye Feng ordered Shinzō of the Salamander to collect the bodies after the battle, then returned to the manor as Matsumoto Tiannai and her companion kept their distance from him.
  • Shinzō of the Salamander and his ninja cleaned up the aftermath while Ye Feng spent the night at the manor with Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna.
  • At breakfast, Ye Feng told Shinzō of the Salamander that he planned to leave the Land of Rain that day.
  • Ye Feng said he wanted to take Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna with him and offered the spoils from the assassins in exchange.
  • Shinzō of the Salamander accepted the deal, and Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna sat down to eat before the journey.

Ch. 305Recruitment

Ye Feng left Amegakure with Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna, warning Shinzō of the Salamander that Hanzo might die and offering him a place in Konoha. After reaching the Land of Birds, Ye Feng built a wooden house for the group, but Qiuyu Yuna encountered a charging wild boar while gathering food.

  • Ye Feng urged Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna to eat more, then advised Shinzō of the Salamander not to oppose Yahiko and to seek him out if Hanzo died.
  • Shinzō of the Salamander concluded that Ye Feng was trying to protect him and decided to prepare for the danger ahead.
  • Ye Feng carried Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna through the air to speed their journey, and the three reached the Land of Birds before nightfall.

  • Qiuyu Yuna fell and dropped her gathered fruit when an enormous wild boar charged at her.

Ch. 306Trouble came knocking

Ye Feng rescued Qiuyu Yuna from a wild boar, then returned to the cabin with her and Matsumoto Tiannai. A group tracking the dead boar arrived and demanded to speak with the adults in Ye Feng’s family, unaware that they had come to extort or rob whoever was responsible.

  • Ye Feng used the Flying Thunder God Mark to reach Qiuyu Yuna in time to kill the charging wild boar, and she clung to him until Matsumoto Tiannai arrived.
  • Ye Feng returned to the cabin, and the two women later brought back meat from the boar without mentioning the awkward embrace.
  • Ye Feng tasted the women’s dinner, found their heavily salted boiled meat unpleasant, and ate a little to spare their feelings.
  • Ye Feng sensed dozens of people approaching and waited outside the cabin as the group arrived and asked him to call his family’s adults.
  • The group’s leader and his men stared at Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna, then respectfully repeated their request after hearing them address Ye Feng as Lord.
  • The group had tracked Ye Feng because they had raised the dead boar and planned to rob or extort whoever killed it.

Ch. 307Driven by greed

Ye Feng exposed a bandit leader’s false pledge of loyalty and killed him after stopping his surprise attack with one finger. The other bandits begged for mercy and claimed they had been driven into banditry, leaving their fate unresolved.

  • Ye Feng offered to take in the bandit leader and his followers, while Matsumoto Tiannai and the other woman watched.
  • The leader and his men knelt and pledged loyalty, but Ye Feng sensed the leader’s murderous intent.
  • The leader drew a blade and attacked Ye Feng, but Ye Feng stopped it with one finger.
  • The leader dropped his weapon, begged for his life, and his followers joined him in pleading for mercy.
  • Ye Feng used the floating blade to pierce the leader’s neck, and the remaining bandits claimed they had become bandits out of desperation.

Ch. 308Darkness of the Shinobi World

Ye Feng exposed and punished the bandits who had committed serious crimes, then ordered the survivors to turn themselves in to the Land of Birds’ capital. The next day, he continued traveling with Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna, stopping so they could wash after their sweat-soaked clothes clung to them.

  • Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna pleaded with Ye Feng to spare the bandits, but Ye Feng used Genjutsu to reveal that several of them had committed brutal crimes and burned them to death.
  • Ye Feng killed fleeing bandits by turning the ground into a swamp, investigated the rest, and ordered the survivors to surrender to the Land of Birds’ authorities.
  • Ye Feng burned away the bodies and blood, and Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna attended to him that night while remaining wary of him.
  • At dawn, Ye Feng set off with Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna and let them run along the road instead of carrying them with wind.
  • Ye Feng stopped and told the exhausted women to wash after noticing their wet clothes clung to their bodies; Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna hurried into the wooden house, blushing.

Ch. 309Scam Restaurant

After reaching the capital of the Land of Birds, Ye Feng gave Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna money as they prepared to part ways. When he went to pay for their farewell dinner, a restaurant owner demanded two million, and Ye Feng discovered that the restaurant had surrounded itself with people ready to attack.

  • Ye Feng washed and dried Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna’s clothes with his Water Control, then led them toward the capital of the Land of Birds.

  • The restaurant owner demanded two million for the meal, and Ye Feng challenged the charge.
  • Ye Feng scanned the restaurant with his Divine Sense and found ordinary ingredients in the kitchen and people surrounding the building, ready to rush inside.

Ch. 310Collusion between officials and merchants

Ye Feng exposed the restaurant owner’s scheme and discovered that a samurai official was helping him frame customers. After Ye Feng subdued the samurai, the man called for the capital’s guards, leaving Ye Feng surrounded and awaiting their arrival.

  • Ye Feng killed one attacker with a kick and knocked the Chunin unconscious before waiting for the restaurant owner to return.
  • The owner came back with a samurai and nearly a hundred soldiers, who surrounded Ye Feng.
  • The samurai ignored Ye Feng’s explanation and accused him of dining without paying, revealing his collusion with the owner.
  • The samurai attacked Ye Feng, but Ye Feng seized his blade and held it to his neck.
  • The samurai ordered a soldier to launch warning fireworks and threatened Ye Feng with the arrival of the guards.

Ch. 311Tanaka Aoba

Ye Feng handed the samurai over to Tanaka Aoba and explained the dispute over an exorbitant meal bill. Tanaka Aoba began investigating fairly, while the restaurant owner hesitated to confess and the samurai tried to avoid blame.

  • Ye Feng refused to release the samurai until Tanaka Aoba and the guards arrived.
  • Tanaka Aoba introduced himself and asked Ye Feng to release the hostage, and Ye Feng handed the samurai over.
  • The samurai accused Ye Feng of refusing to pay, killing citizens, and taking him hostage, but Tanaka Aoba ordered him to be quiet.
  • Ye Feng asked Tanaka Aoba to handle the matter fairly without regard to his status, then recounted what had happened.
  • Tanaka Aoba questioned the restaurant owner about the two-million meal bill, and the owner looked to the samurai for help.
  • The samurai turned away from the owner, hoping he would take the blame himself.

Ch. 312Evil got its just deserts

Ye Feng helped Tanaka Aoba expose a corrupt samurai and inn owner, then refused compensation for the wrongful accusation. The next morning, Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna returned the box Ye Feng had given them and asked to stay by his side.

  • The inn owner confessed to framing Ye Feng and his companions, while Ye Feng exposed the samurai’s suspicious questioning.
  • Ye Feng urged Tanaka Aoba to interrogate the samurai’s accomplices, and Tanaka ordered the group arrested.
  • Tanaka Aoba secured the samurai’s confession by promising to protect his family, then apologized to Ye Feng and offered compensation.
  • Ye Feng declined the compensation and left the inn with Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna.
  • The next morning, Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna asked Ye Feng to let them continue traveling with him.

Ch. 313Following

Ye Feng agreed to let Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna follow him despite warning them that his future journey could be dangerous and might take him away from the Shinobi World. He took them shopping for new clothes in the capital, where they hesitated over the prices, and handed them outfits to try on.

  • Ye Feng warned Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna that he would eventually leave the Shinobi World and might not survive his distant journey, but they insisted on staying with him.
  • Ye Feng accepted their decision, and the women stayed in his room to make sure he did not leave while they slept.
  • Ye Feng cultivated at the inn while Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna slept until afternoon.
  • Ye Feng took the two women out to eat and then brought them to the capital's Commercial Street to buy clothes.
  • Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna balked at the expensive clothing, so Ye Feng removed the price tags from several outfits and told them to try them on.

Ch. 314Becoming poor

Ye Feng took Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna shopping, spending much of his wealth on clothes and feeling poorer than before. After they left the shop, a polite man asked to buy back a garment for his wife, and Ye Feng refused because the women liked the clothes.

  • Ye Feng told Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna to try on clothes, then rejected Matsumoto Tiannai’s kimono and hurried out of Qiuyu Yuna’s changing room after seeing her revealing outfit.
  • Ye Feng bought three outfits for each woman and two outfits for himself, then added a garment without realizing what it was.
  • The shopkeeper charged Ye Feng 2.5 million for the clothes, and Ye Feng sealed them in a scroll and regretted spending so much of his wealth.
  • A man and a woman caught up with Ye Feng, and the man offered an extra two hundred thousand to buy back a garment his wife wanted.
  • Ye Feng apologized and refused to give up the garment because Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna liked the clothes.

Ch. 315An invitation to a banquet

Ye Feng accepted the Daimyō of the Land of Birds’ invitation to a banquet and prepared to attend with Matsumoto Tiannai and the other woman. He created a wooden carriage and summoned Garurumon to pull it, leaving the two women frightened as they set off for the Daimyō’s Residence.

  • A rude woman insulted Ye Feng, but her companion apologized and led her away.
  • Tanaka Aoba invited Ye Feng to a gathering hosted by Ōsagi, the Daimyō of the Land of Birds, and Ye Feng agreed to attend.
  • Ye Feng dressed for the banquet and told Matsumoto Tiannai and the other woman to come with him.
  • Ye Feng created a wooden carriage and summoned Garurumon to pull it.
  • Garurumon frightened the onlookers and the two women, so Ye Feng hurried them into the carriage and set off for the Daimyō’s Residence.

Ch. 316Attending the banquet

Ye Feng attended a banquet at the Daimyō's Residence after Garurumon caused a stir in the Capital. He found the guests' conversations dull and turned his attention to the banquet's food.

  • Tanaka Aoba arranged for guard cavalry to clear the way for Ye Feng's carriage through the Capital.
  • Ye Feng arrived at the Daimyō's Residence, shrank Garurumon, and placed her in Matsumoto Tiannai's arms.
  • Kitahara Takuma introduced himself to Ye Feng as the Sakyo Dayu of the Land of Birds.
  • The Daimyō arrived with a bald man, and the guests followed them into the residence.
  • Ye Feng attended the Daimyō's speech, listened to the guests' conversations with his divine sense, and focused on the food.

Ch. 317Another encounter with the shrew

At a banquet, Ye Feng and his companions clashed with the shrew again after she insulted them, and Qiuyu Yuna slapped her while Ye Feng’s murderous aura frightened her. The Daimyō apologized to Ye Feng and explained that he had tolerated the woman’s behavior because her parents died defending the Land of Birds.

  • Ye Feng served food to the two women and Garurumon, who ate sitting upright and attracted a little girl’s attention.
  • The little girl petted Garurumon until the shrew rushed over, pulled her away, and insulted Ye Feng and his companions.
  • Qiuyu Yuna slapped the shrew, and Ye Feng approached while releasing his murderous aura.
  • Kitahara Takuma intervened and asked Ye Feng to show mercy, so Ye Feng withdrew his aura.
  • The Daimyō arrived, ordered Kitahara to take the shrew away, and apologized to Ye Feng for her behavior.
  • The Daimyō said he had overlooked the shrew’s conduct because her parents had died fighting for the Land of Birds.

Ch. 318Mōsō

Ye Feng met Mōsō at the Land of Birds Daimyō’s residence and suspected the monk was plotting something, though he had no proof to expose him. After Mōsō persuaded him to stay, masked ninja appeared near Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna, and Ye Feng ordered Garurumon to protect them.

  • The Daimyō introduced Mōsō to Ye Feng, who recognized him as the future killer of the Daimyō and his son but chose not to accuse him without evidence.
  • Mōsō eyed Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna when they tried to follow Ye Feng, and Ye Feng told them to remain in the banquet hall.
  • The Daimyō showed Ye Feng and Mōsō his garden and offered Ye Feng half his authority, but Ye Feng refused.
  • When the banquet ended, Mōsō and the Daimyō persuaded Ye Feng to stay longer, and Ye Feng agreed while suspecting Mōsō had a plan.
  • Garurumon telepathically told Ye Feng that more than a dozen masked ninja had appeared near the women, and Ye Feng ordered her to keep them safe.

Ch. 319Rations

Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna were surrounded by ninja who intended to capture them, but Garurumon transformed and killed or drove off their attackers. The women returned to the inn, deciding not to distract Ye Feng.

  • More than a dozen ninja surrounded Matsumoto Tiannai and Qiuyu Yuna, taunted them, and revealed that the Guard Force had been lured away.
  • Matsumoto Tiannai urged Qiuyu Yuna to escape with Garurumon, but Garurumon leaped free and grew to over three meters tall.
  • Garurumon carried both women on her back, rushed among the ninja, and swallowed them one after another.
  • The final two ninja killed themselves rather than face Garurumon, who then shrank back into a small beast.
  • Qiuyu Yuna suggested checking on Ye Feng, but Matsumoto Tiannai said he was powerful and they should return to the inn without troubling him.

Ch. 320An unexpected haul

Ye Feng returned to the inn, learned that Mōsō’s men had vanished, and went to investigate Mōsō’s residence. There, he discovered that Aoi Haruna had come to ask Mōsō to kill someone, leaving Ye Feng curious about her target.

  • Ye Feng returned to the inn late at night, reassured Qiuyu Yuna and the other woman, and said he would go out to deal with the people who had attacked them.
  • Ye Feng used the mark he had placed on Mōsō to locate and observe him near the Daimyō’s Residence.
  • Mōsō learned that the men he had sent out had disappeared, and he ordered his subordinates to keep a low profile.
  • Mōsō’s steward told him that Aoi Haruna was waiting, and Mōsō said she still had a use to him.
  • Ye Feng recognized Aoi Haruna as the woman who had insulted him earlier, and she asked Mōsō to kill someone without yet naming the target.

Ch. 321Mōsō's forces

Aoi Haruna persuaded Mōsō to consider helping her kill Uchiha Yefeng by offering to help him seize power. Ye Feng followed a departing ninja to a village housing Mōsō’s hidden force and prepared to attack it with Garurumon.

  • Aoi Haruna urged Mōsō to kill Uchiha Yefeng, but he refused because Yefeng was powerful and Konoha would retaliate.
  • Aoi Haruna offered Mōsō her affection and promised to win over the great general, persuading him to reconsider the assassination.
  • Ye Feng stopped watching Mōsō and Aoi Haruna and followed a ninja out of the Capital of the Land of Birds.
  • Ye Feng discovered a village with over fifty ninja and many impoverished ordinary people, identifying it as Mōsō’s force.
  • Ye Feng released Garurumon and challenged her to kill more ninja than he did, warning her not to harm the villagers.

Ch. 322A thorough purge

Ye Feng and Garurumon attacked the village and wiped out its ninja force while avoiding civilian deaths. After Ye Feng won their kill-count contest, he rewarded Garurumon with three days of freedom once they left the Capital of the Land of Birds, then returned to Mōsō's residence.

  • Garurumon roared as she and Ye Feng charged the village, alerting the ninja and forcing them into an open battle.
  • Garurumon split a large fireball launched by five Chunin, sending it into the ninja on either side, then shrank to control her attacks more precisely.
  • Ye Feng ambushed the rear ranks while Garurumon fought at the front, and Garurumon used a burst of speed to kill nearly ten ninja.
  • Ye Feng killed the last ninja and confirmed that no ordinary people had died, then counted twenty-eight kills for himself and twenty-six for Garurumon.
  • Ye Feng awarded Garurumon three days of freedom after they left the Capital of the Land of Birds, and then returned with her to Mōsō's residence.

Ch. 323Taking down Mōsō

Ye Feng killed Mōsō’s men and confronted Mōsō and Aoi Haruna after overhearing their plot against him. He restrained both of them and waited for the Daimyō to arrive, leaving their fate in the Daimyō’s hands.

  • Ye Feng secretly killed Mōsō’s men throughout the residence while Mōsō and Aoi Haruna remained together in the bedroom.
  • Mōsō promised Aoi Haruna he would keep Uchiha Yefeng from leaving the Land of Birds alive if she brought the great general to their side.
  • Ye Feng revealed himself, and Mōsō discovered that his guards were dead and begged Ye Feng to spare him.
  • Aoi Haruna begged Ye Feng for mercy and tried to seduce him, but Ye Feng pinned her hand to the floor with a kunai.
  • Mōsō tried to crawl toward the door, but Ye Feng pinned his lower leg to the floor with another kunai.
  • Ye Feng waited for the Daimyō, who arrived with his men as Garurumon shrank and slipped into the room.

Ch. 324A last-ditch struggle

Ye Feng told the Daimyō that Mōsō was plotting to seize power, but Mōsō denied the accusation, so Ye Feng used his Sharingan to place him under Genjutsu. The Daimyō prepared to question him while Kitahara Takuma pleaded for Aoi Haruna to be spared.

  • The Daimyō entered the room and found Mōsō and Aoi Haruna pinned down while Ye Feng explained how he had uncovered their affair and plot to ambush him.
  • The Daimyō asked Ye Feng to spare Aoi Haruna, and Ye Feng agreed to leave the punishment of both captives to him.
  • Ye Feng revealed Mōsō's plan to seize power and described a village outside the Capital, prompting the Daimyō to send men to investigate.
  • Mōsō denied the plot and accused Ye Feng of fabricating evidence, while Kitahara Takuma arrived and asked the Daimyō to spare Aoi Haruna for her parents' sake.
  • Ye Feng showed Mōsō his Sharingan, placed him under Genjutsu, and invited the Daimyō to question him.

Ch. 325The matter was settled

Ye Feng helped the Daimyō uncover Mōsō and Aoi Haruna’s plot, and the Daimyō dealt with both conspirators before thanking Ye Feng. Ye Feng asked him to treat surrendered bandits fairly, then returned to the inn, where Matsumoto Tiannai pulled him into bed; he planned to leave the Land of Birds the next day.

  • After questioning Mōsō, the Daimyō ordered the guards to break his limbs, destroy his dantian, and take him away.
  • The Daimyō pulled the Kunai from Aoi Haruna and killed her, then ordered her death to be disguised as a robbery and arranged her burial in her parents’ tomb.
  • The Daimyō thanked Ye Feng, but Ye Feng asked him to treat the bandits he had sent to surrender fairly and show leniency where warranted.
  • Ye Feng used the Flying Thunder God Technique to leave before the Daimyō could insist on another reward, then returned to the inn and decided to leave the Land of Birds the next day.
  • When Matsumoto Tiannai woke, she pulled Ye Feng into bed; she let him hold her as they settled down to sleep.
