Childhood and Spirit Hall

Bibi Dong grew up in Auspicious Cloud Village alongside Xu Rong'er. Her father died while she was very young, and her mother, Fu Yun'er, died from overwork when Bibi Dong was five. Despite becoming an orphan before awakening her Martial Soul, she remained friendly and hopeful. When Spirit Hall selected her as Holy Maiden, she promised to become a Pope who would help everyone on the continent live happily 291 294.

She later fell in love with Yu Xiaogang. To prevent Qian Xunji from secretly killing him, she drove Yu Xiaogang away from Spirit Hall. Within three years, she learned that he had fallen in love with Liu Erlong; her own investigation confirmed the news 272.

Qian Xunji subsequently imprisoned and sexually assaulted Bibi Dong, who gave birth to Qian Renxue. During her captivity, she could not help Xu Rong'er, whose battle against Clear Sky Sect scouts cost her all her Soul Power. Xu Rong'er later died after giving birth to Ning Rongrong. These losses, together with the Rakshasa God's assault on her soul, contributed to Bibi Dong's bitterness and desire for revenge 318.

Journey Forty Years into the Past

After arriving forty years in the past with Jun Yi, Bibi Dong rescued her younger self from Qian Xunji. She asked Jun Yi to call her Sister Dong'er, reasoning that Qian Renxue publicly called her a sister and Jun Yi was nominally Qian Renxue's younger brother 288 289.

To explain her resemblance to Xiao Dong, she invented a maternal-cousin identity, drawing on private knowledge of their mother's separated sister. She later introduced herself to Xu Rong'er as Xu Dong'er 291 293.

Meeting the living Xu Rong'er revived memories she had buried for decades. Hearing her friend describe her childhood kindness forced her to confront how far she had moved from her original ambitions. She withdrew into a forest to cry, where Jun Yi comforted her 294 295.

Protecting Xiao Dong's Future

Bibi Dong resolved to prevent her younger self from repeating her life. She subjected Xiao Dong to survival training in Mist Grand Canyon, outwardly refusing to intervene while secretly watching over her. After a year of training, Jun Yi persuaded her to allow Xiao Dong time to recover with Xu Rong'er before sending her into Slaughter City 307 314 321.

She also targeted threats to Xiao Dong and Xu Rong'er's future. Her plans included killing Yu Yuanzhen and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's other leaders to prevent their future war with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. In Blue Lightning City, she used Jun Yi as a distraction while investigating the clan 321 324 325 327.

After Xiao Dong completed her Slaughter City trials, Bibi Dong advised her to recover from its killing aura in Xu Rong'er's company. Before returning home, she killed the past timeline's Qian Xunji and arranged evidence to implicate Tang Chen. Her journey with Jun Yi lasted approximately a year and a half 343 345.

Return and the Soul Hunting Plan

Back in her original spacetime, Bibi Dong resumed her duties as Pope. During the tournament, she ruled Jing Ling's poisoning accidental, held Shrek Academy responsible, and introduced additional medical precautions. She also coordinated with Jun Yi against Tang Hao and Xiao Wu, and protected spectators when the fighting threatened the arena 356 357 367.

Her Soul Hunting Plan sought to eradicate the Upper Three Sects in revenge for Xu Rong'er. She intended to relinquish the papacy afterward, leaving Qian Renxue and Hu Liena to compete for succession. By the destruction of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, she still wanted Ning Fengzhi and the others to suffer rather than die immediately 318 420 443.

She spared Xu Rong'er's daughter, Ning Rongrong. Bibi Dong planned to destroy her Martial Soul, erase her memories, and send her to their childhood village. Ning Rongrong later appeared there as Xu Shuang'er, with her memories erased, affectionately calling Bibi Dong “Aunt Dong” 420 523.

Jun Yi and Her Later Life

Bibi Dong's attachment to Jun Yi developed through his treatment of her condition, his comfort during her grief, and their time protecting Xiao Dong. She watched over him through an entire night when he was unconscious, and their closeness eventually drew Qian Renxue's attention. Bibi Dong later kissed him after he reassured her about their age difference 299 314 377 386.

Their relationship also included Bibi Dong taking advantage of Jun Yi sexually. Afterward, she admitted that she did not know how to love someone or keep him beside her, acknowledged his resentment, and apologized. Jun Yi responded by promising to remain with her 410 411.

Her pregnancy later became a family matter when Jun Qingyan scolded Jun Yi for concealing it. Bibi Dong is also shown sending her ten-year-old daughter, whose Martial Soul is the Asura God, to train in Slaughter City 616 627.

For years, Bibi Dong searched unsuccessfully for a way back to Xiao Dong's world. Jun Yi eventually mastered the necessary travel method, allowing her to reunite with her other self and Xu Rong'er. Seeing Xiao Dong become a respected Pope without suffering Qian Xunji's abuse confirmed that the younger woman's life had taken a different course. Bibi Dong promised to visit again and bring the children 634 637 638.

As Pope, Bibi Dong is confident, calculating, and capable of making threats without raising her voice. She fabricates a convincing family history to conceal her identity from Xiao Dong and uses Jun Yi's public challenge to investigate the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan 57 291 323 327.

Her protectiveness can become severe. She believes Xiao Dong must experience the world's cruelty to survive it and initially pushes her toward successive dangerous trials. Nevertheless, she accepts Jun Yi's criticism when he argues that Xiao Dong needs rest rather than further pressure 307 321.

Her affection for Xu Rong'er survives decades of grief. Although meeting her friend again restores warm memories, it does not end her determination to exact revenge: she explicitly commits to the Soul Hunting Plan even without the Rakshasa consciousness influencing her 295 318.

With Jun Yi, her commanding manner gives way to teasing, jealousy, and vulnerability. She is hurt by jokes about her age and eventually admits that her fear of losing him leaves her unsure how to express love 372 386 411.
