Story Role

Hunt in Sunset Forest

Xu Zhengyang discovers the White-Eyed Devil Tiger after following a roar that resonates with his Tiger-Head Zhan Gold Spear. Although its age exceeds his expected limit for a second Soul Ring, he decides to attempt the hunt. He follows it for five days to confirm that it has no accompanying pack, then prepares a pit more than twenty meters long and ten meters deep, lined with iron caltrops and forging ore 19 20.

He attacks its den before dawn, when its vigilance is lowest. The ambush wounds rather than kills it, and the tiger’s subsequent enhancement forces him to retreat. He leads it into the concealed pit and restrains it with the Thunder Flame Enemy-Binding Net 20.

Defeat and Death

Xu Zhengyang ignites the ore in the pit and repeatedly attacks the restrained tiger. Fire burns its fur and aggravates its wounds, but it continues resisting and launches its combined hair-and-eye attack. After his second Martial Soul intercepts the white beam, he pierces its chest with the Class 5 Flame Spear 21.

He carries the dying tiger to a concealed abandoned lair, masks its scent with medicinal powders, and activates a Camouflage Mirror. Once secure, he drives his spear through its eye and skull, killing it and producing a purple Soul Ring 21 22.

Soul Ring and External Soul Bone

Devil Tiger Destruction Kill

The tiger’s 1,100-year Soul Ring becomes Xu Zhengyang’s second Soul Ring and grants Devil Tiger Destruction Kill. Its absorption raises his Soul Power from rank twenty to rank twenty-three 21 22 23.

• Xu Zhengyang later develops Tiger Roars in the Mountains and Forests, a spear technique based on this second Soul Skill 30.
• During the clash with the Nether Flame Demon Tiger and Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear, he uses Devil Tiger Destruction Kill to weaken their defenses and blind one of the bear’s eyes 47.

Devil Tiger’s Eye

The same specimen also yields an exceedingly rare spiritual-type, eye-shaped External Soul Bone, which Xu Zhengyang names Devil Tiger’s Eye 22 23.
