Personality

Anivia favors humanity rather than treating humans as inferior beings. She shelters and blesses them, showing particular affection for the young girls in her care. Luo Chen considers her the gentlest and most approachable of the three Freljordian gods 131 147.

Her manner is warm, informal, and playful. She discourages Luo Chen’s formality, enjoys harmless pranks, and teases her young followers about becoming the hero’s bride. Her concern for them is genuine: when Luo Chen jokingly threatens to kill them, she becomes visibly distressed despite knowing she cannot refuse him 147 164.

In combat, Anivia prefers defense, confinement, and sealing over direct aggression. She suggests that Luo Chen seek Ornn or Volibear instead if he wants a more suitable opponent for testing offensive strength 168.

Eternal True Ice

Anivia is the origin of True Ice, and her entire being consists of it. Its nature represents the “eternally unchanging” and the “undying and indestructible” 167.

• Purification: True Ice removes impurities and reveals the purest, truest aspect of things 167.
• Resistance to illusion: Tian Meng’s Kyoka Suigetsu fails against her because of her superior rank of existence, rather than an ordinary illusion-immunity effect 167.
• Sealing: Her freezing is a powerful seal, not merely a reduction in temperature. It can affect tangible objects and intangible powers 168.
• Spatial interference: Her power makes space sluggish, reducing the usefulness of Luo Chen’s teleportation-based attacks 168.

History

Awakening and Life Among Humans

Anivia is one of the three Demigods awakened by Luo Chen’s Third Trial. Na’er identifies her as the Cryophoenix when explaining the trial’s requirements: primordial first fire, ancient thunder, and eternal true ice 71 147.

After meeting the Shui sisters and being brought to Skywater Academy, Anivia spends most of her time there, apart from scheduled periods of sleep in the Frozen Forest. She cares for Shui Yue’er, Shui Bing’er, and Xue Wu for over a year, providing them with gifts of True Ice 165 166.

She promises to bless the three girls and make them her Avarosa, Serylda, and Lissandra in this world 147.

Luo Chen’s Third Trial

Anivia’s portion of the trial concerns bringing the Four Elements Academy and Element City under Luo Chen’s control. Luo Chen initially delegates that task to Qian Renxue and later decides to visit Anivia after exploring the Far North 131 147.

When they meet in Skywater City, Anivia identifies the mysterious observer watching Luo Chen’s party as Prime Axiom, the priest responsible for his Fifth Trial. She explains that this later trial requires conquering the Sun Moon Continent, but cannot answer his questions about the Darkin or Sixth Trial 164.

For her own assessment, she asks Luo Chen not to bully Skywater Academy’s girls and requires him to defeat the Four Elements Academy fairly. Like Ornn, she favors winning people over rather than simply destroying them 164 165.

Martial Soul Evolution and Sparring

Anivia summons her three young followers to meet Luo Chen. With the Sun Disc, he evolves Shui Bing’er’s Ice Phoenix Martial Soul into the Ultimate-quality Eternal True Phoenix, then prepares Ascension Rituals for Shui Yue’er and Xue Wu 166.

Luo Chen subsequently takes Anivia, Ice Empress, and the three girls to the sea east of the Far North to test his strength. Her initial strike and sealing abilities reveal that he has still underestimated her. Their spar draws attention from Ornn, Volibear, and Bibi Dong; Luo Chen invites Bibi Dong to watch 167 168 169.
