Childhood rescue and adoption into Spirit Hall

As a child, Bibi Dong was subjected to a ritual by black-robed Fallen Soul Masters. They drew her blood while red-and-black threads from an animated eyeball entered her body, causing painful markings to spread across her neck and face. Qian Xunji intervened, and he and Yue Guan eliminated the cultists 25.

Brought to the Pope’s Palace, she displayed twin spider Martial Souls and innate full Soul Power. Qian Daoliu entrusted her education to Qian Xunji, who named her Bibi Dong and declared her his disciple and Spirit Hall’s Holy Maiden. Spirit City celebrated the appointment for three days 26.

Her formal Saintess ceremony included a Soul Master tournament. Fascinated by the contestants’ abilities, she asked whether she could become equally powerful. Qian Xunji assured her that she would surpass many of them within three years, and she promised to cultivate diligently 29.

Dormant evil power

A month after the ceremony, Qian Xunji summoned Bibi Dong to examine runes on two captured followers of the Crimson Mother. The runes drained the prisoners’ lives, detached from their bodies, and moved toward her. Although Qian Xunji destroyed them, Bibi Dong’s eyes rolled back and black markings spread over her cheeks 29 30.

Qian Xunji poured sacred Soul Power into her body until the markings disappeared. She briefly regained awareness before fainting. The incident revealed that the evil power associated with her childhood ritual had remained dormant inside her rather than being completely expelled, prompting Spirit Hall to intensify its pursuit of the cult 30.

Training and the sacrificial-site mission

More than ten years later, Bibi Dong could force Yue Guan to concede during sparring, though she complained that he never fought seriously enough to teach her practical combat. By level 75, her journeys outside Spirit City had been limited to Soul Ring hunts, and she wanted an opportunity to prove her independence 30 31.

When Qian Xunji refused to let her accompany Yue Guan and Gui Mei against a Fallen Soul Master sacrificial site, she secretly followed them out of the city. After they found her, she refused to return and threatened to travel the continent alone. They reluctantly agreed to take her, provided she followed their instructions 31.

Bibi Dong nevertheless approached the ritual cave after being told to wait outside. Inside, the cult leader gained temporary Titled Douluo power and injured both elders. She intervened with Space-Rending Abyss Slash, then joined them in attacking a scarlet eyeball that was draining the occupants’ life energy. During their escape from the collapsing cave, a scarlet ray struck her; Yue Guan caught her and carried her outside 32 33.

Betrayal and the Heavenly Screen

By the opening confrontation, Bibi Dong had turned against Qian Xunji. Her sneak attack injured him and sharply reduced his fighting strength, helping leave him trapped by his enemies. She was also injured, but initially appeared satisfied. Her resentment centered on his imprisonment and abuse of her in a secret chamber 1 5.

The Heavenly Screen complicated her view of him. His youthful compassion still attracted her, while his relationships with Ah Rou and Ah Yin provoked pain and jealousy. Watching him risk his life to protect Ah Yin made her question why he had never shown her comparable love 5 15 20 27 28.

When the screen revealed her childhood rescue, she recognized herself as the little girl. She had no memories from before age six and realized that the ritual had erased them. Learning that Qian Xunji had saved her made her question her betrayal, but the identity of her parents and whether the slaughtered village was her birthplace remained unresolved 26.

Her desire to prove herself makes her stubborn and disobedient. She follows the elders despite her teacher’s refusal, pressures them into bringing her along, and ignores instructions to remain outside the sacrificial site. Her failure to notice concealed guards also exposes the gap between her cultivation level and field experience 31 32.

During the Heavenly Screen revelations, her feelings toward Qian Xunji combine resentment, lingering attraction, jealousy, and confusion. Discovering his role in saving her introduces guilt and unanswered questions without erasing her memories of his abuse 5 15 26 27.
