Background / History
Jiang Fan was switched with Jiang Youtian at the hospital after birth. Although the biological son of Jiang Qifeng and Xue Ping, he grew up with Tang Fugui and Wang Shuqin in the slums. A disturbance during his mother's pregnancy left him constitutionally weak, and inadequate childhood nutrition worsened his condition 1 3.
The Jiang family reclaimed him four years before the main events. He desperately sought their affection, but they favored Jiang Youtian and repeatedly blamed Jiang Fan for his actions. Under their orders, Jiang Fan also distanced himself from the Tang family; in his previous life, he even avoided speaking to Tang Duo after entering the same university 1 5 35.
In his previous life, Jiang Youtian killed him shortly after he began university, when he was eighteen. Jiang Fan endured torture before his death. He is reborn at seventeen during another confrontation in which his relatives demand that he apologize for supposedly pushing Jiang Youtian from an overpass 1 4 34.
Appearance
- Build: Initially scrawny, frail, and visibly sickly 1 2 5.
- Face: Sword-like brows, bright eyes, and exceptionally fair skin; his appearance repeatedly attracts admiration and jealousy 2 6 16.
- Eyes: Described as pitch-black, often with a cold or sharply defiant gaze 1 2.
- Family resemblance: Unusually, he inherits his paternal grandmother's beauty rather than the features shared by the rest of the Jiang family 2.
- Training wear: Uses a black hoodie for early mountain training and later wears F-grade alloy weight rings around his ankles 19 43 44.
Personality
After rebirth, Jiang Fan abandons his former submissiveness toward the Jiang family. He no longer accepts accusations merely to preserve their approval, instead demanding evidence, documenting their violence, and refusing reconciliation after their public separation 1 2 23 35.
His affection for the Tang family remains open and sincere. He promises Tang Guo that he will never leave again, contributes money to the household, and names “family” as his reason for practicing martial arts. His determination to keep his loved ones from dying drives him through exhausting physical training 5 8 9 28 37.
He is calculating about both danger and opportunity. He conceals his psychic abilities while physically vulnerable and deliberately maximizes system rewards. Nevertheless, he rejects manufacturing an accident merely so he can earn points by helping the victim 5 16 18.
His ruthlessness has personal limits. He initially refrains from killing Jiang Youtian out of consideration for the Tang parents, whose biological son Youtian is. Later, he deliberately shatters Youtian's knees to collect the kneeling debt that the Jiang family refused to enforce 6 42.
Abilities & Skills
Good-Deed System
Jiang Fan's system awards points for actions it recognizes as good deeds, including feeding animals, collecting trash, helping others, punishing criminals, and rescuing children 3 7 16 50.
- Attribute exchange: 10 points purchase either 1 N of qi and blood or 1 P of psychic power 17.
- Repeated rewards: Rewards from the same person are limited to three times per day. Helping Crazy Old Man becomes a regular source of approximately 3,000 daily points 18 29.
- Indirect credit: Receives 100 points for inspiring Lan Shengxue's breakthrough without realizing he had done so 29.
- Physical restriction: Direct qi-and-blood increases are limited by his constitution; excessive increases can endanger his body 17.
- Lottery upgrade: Unlocks when his points reach 10,000. Each draw costs 100 points and may yield a prize or nothing 50.
Psychic Power
As a junior psychic and Spirit Master, Jiang Fan can manipulate objects remotely and search his surroundings with psychic power 9 45.
- Telekinesis: Controls paper airplanes, launches discarded cans at attackers, and moves gold through a window 5 7 13.
- Fine manipulation: Breaks a safe's internal mechanism without using its combination 31.
- Detection: Searches for Tang Guo within his coverage area. By the rescue operation, that range extends a little over 200 meters around him—not across the entire city at once 45.
- Defense: Covers his body with an invisible protective layer, surviving a punch that would otherwise have shattered his internal organs 47.
- Weapon control: Redirects alloy weight rings in flight and forces one into Bing 78's chest 47.
- Limits: His body initially cannot support his psychic power safely, and emotional excitement can disrupt his control 17 34.
Physical Strength and Endurance
Jiang Fan supplements system gains with demanding exercise and repeated ascents of Plow Mountain 19.
- Lifts a solid-wood table one-handed after reaching 80 N, then demonstrates his advancement to the Tang family by raising their approximately 200-jin millstone overhead 17 19.
- Adapts to F-grade alloy weight rings in under two minutes 37.
- Defeats the middle-stage martial apprentice Jiang Youtian while still publicly identified as an early-stage apprentice 38 42.
- Wins the Plow Mountain race while wearing weighted rings, overtaking Mu Feng after noticing his disrupted breathing rhythm 43.
- Remains physically outmatched by Bing 78, a mid-stage first-rank martial artist; survival requires psychic defense, healing, and remotely controlled attacks 47.
Academic Ability and Planning
- Has strong academic grades and was considered capable of entering a liberal arts university before choosing the martial track 8 9.
- Finishes his mathematics examination quickly and exposes Wei Qi's copying by asking Lu Yi to compare their papers 9 10.
- Records the Jiang family's assault in advance and proposes lip-reading analysis to resolve the overpass accusation 23.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Leaving the Jiang Family
Jiang Fan demands surveillance evidence rather than accepting punishment for the overpass incident. The footage shows Jiang Youtian jumping voluntarily, but the family accepts Youtian's replacement accusation that Jiang Fan threatened him. Jiang Fan leaves, activates his system after feeding a stray dog, and returns to the Tang household 2 3 5.
A later confrontation escalates when Jiang Fan protects Tang Fugui from the Jiang family's guards and sisters. He supplies police with a recording of the assault and obtains matching translations from three lip-reading experts, exposing Jiang Youtian's scheme. Jiang Qifeng nevertheless refuses to enforce Youtian's promised apology, instead publicly severing all ties with Jiang Fan 21 22 23 24 25.
Entering the Martial Track
Jiang Fan pays five months of rent to prevent the Tang family's eviction and declares his goal of entering one of the five elite martial arts schools. After reaching 80 N, he begins intensive mountain training; an 81 N school test later secures his special-training admission, for which he supplies the 100,000-yuan fee himself 8 19 28 29.
The public confirmation of his advancement overturns the school's view of him. Jiang Qifeng attempts to take him back, offering recognition only if he enters a martial arts school. Jiang Fan rejects the conditional offer and leaves to celebrate with the Tang family 33 34 35.
Training and Settling the Kneeling Debt
Crazy Old Man gives Jiang Fan alloy weight rings and watches his rapid adaptation. Jiang Fan subsequently defeats Jiang Youtian under a signed life-and-death waiver, shattering both knees and declaring that he has collected the kneeling debt. He then takes first place in Wei Cangyue's Plow Mountain race despite the rings' added weight 37 42 43.
Rescuing the Abducted Children
When Tang Guo disappears, Jiang Fan locates her and thirty-two other abducted children in Villa 13 of the Imperial View Villa District. He contacts the police and fights Bing 78, surviving severe injuries before killing the mid-stage first-rank martial artist with psychically controlled weight rings 45 47 50.
To conceal his abilities, he tells Old Wu that a passing expert killed Bing 78. Wei Cangyue remains suspicious and requests further investigation. Back home, Jiang Fan discovers the system's lottery upgrade and raises his qi and blood to 116 N, then chooses to seek practical combat experience rather than continue advancing immediately 48 50.
