Jiang Jie confronted Aishir, a wind elemental Demigod, after taking the Vessel of Rebirth from Demitrian. He offered to help resurrect Prince Thunderaan and overthrow Al'Akir in exchange for Aishir's alliance, leaving her to choose whether to negotiate or fight.

Jiang Jie fought through the Burning Legion’s forces inside Oshu'gun and defeated Vazruden the Conqueror. He found Naaru K'ure near the end of his life cycle, with his Holy Light nearly gone and shadow energy taking over.

• Jiang Jie entered Oshu'gun and killed the demons and Orc Warlocks who tried to stop him.
• Jiang Jie discovered that Oshu'gun was alive and that Naaru K'ure was its life core.

Jiang Jie gave the Heart of Fury to K'ure, who regained some power and asked him to find Velen for help. Jiang Jie reached Telredor and met Velen and Nobundo.

• K'ure explained that he was wounded, asked Jiang Jie for the Heart of Fury, and offered to guide him in the Holy Light in return.

Jiang Jie met Prophet Velen and Nobundo in Telredor, assessed their power, and explained that he had come at K’ure’s request. Velen offered to balance the light and shadow within Jiang Jie after learning his purpose.

• Jiang Jie regarded Velen as an immensely powerful, ancient being whose Holy Light lacked aggression and whose faith made him poorly suited to combat.
• Jiang Jie met Nobundo, the first Draenei Shaman, and recognized the Broken leader’s command of Outland’s elemental powers.
• Velen admitted that he had scanned Jiang Jie because of the shadow and Fel within him, and apologized for the intrusion.

Jiang Jie met Velen and learned that K'ure was recovering but still needed help. After Velen purified the Heart of Fury, he promised to help Jiang Jie strengthen his Holy Light and gave him a fragment of the Naaru T'uure.

• Maraad urged Velen to rescue K'ure, and Jiang Jie learned that he was the High Vindicator.
• Velen purified the shadow-corrupted Heart of Fury and contacted K'ure, who had recovered some strength.
• Velen agreed to help Jiang Jie strengthen his Holy Light, while explaining that the Naaru alone could teach him to balance light and shadow.

Jiang Jie received a fragment of T'uure and learned that K'ure believed he could help restore the ancient Naaru. Velen and the draenei planned to repair Oshu'gun to rescue K'ure, while preparing to seek help from the Mag'har Orcs and eventually travel to Azeroth.

• Jiang Jie released Dafeng, Wugou, Huo, and Shu to battle the advancing demons.
• The four Elemental Spirits transformed and used their weapons and elemental powers to hold off hundreds of demons.
• Jiang Jie recognized the immense energy behind the Maelstrom as comparable to Archimonde's and flew up to confront the approaching enemy.
• A hand reached through the Maelstrom, pointed at Jiang Jie, and cast Armageddon.

Jiang Jie stopped Kil'jaeden’s enormous meteor from destroying the battlefield and challenged him directly. Kil'jaeden answered with shadow and fel magic, leaving Jiang Jie frozen as a shadowy double appeared beside him.

• Kil'jaeden summoned a gigantic fel meteor toward the battlefield, threatening demons and allies alike.
• Jiang Jie rose to meet the meteor and shattered it with a true dragon launched by his fist.
• Jiang Jie faced Kil'jaeden and called for him to attack again.
• Kil'jaeden gathered Void, shadow, and fel energies, then slashed through the air and seemed to sever Jiang Jie's soul.
• Jiang Jie turned and saw an identical figure smiling at him as Kil'jaeden used Shadow Reflection.

Jiang Jie held off Kil'jaeden while his allies fought through the demons, learning that Sargeras had marked his soul. He dispelled Kil'jaeden's shroud, but Kil'jaeden emerged through the Maelstrom and launched a massive attack.

• Jiang Jie taunted Kil'jaeden and realized he had to hold him off until his allies defeated the demons and claimed the divine artifacts.
• Kil'jaeden said Sargeras had locked onto Jiang Jie's soul, and Jiang Jie concluded Sargeras had marked him during the vision in Karazhan.
