Personality

Venti is playful, evasive, and fond of getting others to buy him drinks. At his first meeting with Wei Zhenzu, he requests the best Dandelion Wine despite carrying no Mora, then answers questions about his knowledge with an “Ehe.” He also deliberately calls Paimon “Davidai” despite her protests 6.

His curiosity extends to powers from the City. He probes Wei Zhenzu’s consciousness without first explaining what he intends to do, but withdraws from the Limbus Bus’s core when Vergilius threatens him. He then studies and appropriates the Fairy Gentleman’s concept, particularly enjoying its potential for making alcohol 9 10.

His usual irreverence disappears when confronting Dvalin’s remnant soul. He apologizes to his old friend and sings a farewell before healing the survivors, showing a solemn concern absent from his tavern antics 32.

Venti can grant others access to his authority through an Anemo mark 11.

Story Role / Major Arcs

The Angel’s Share Abnormality

Venti introduces Wei Zhenzu to his first tavern-side assignment: investigating a strange presence in the back alley before it can harm Mondstadt’s residents. His single-pull ticket enables Wei to draw the Identity used against the Fairy Gentleman. After its containment, Venti extracts its concept and reveals that the Golden Bough is entangled with Dvalin deep inside Stormterror’s Lair 6 7 9 10.

Stormterror’s Lair

Before the expedition, Venti asks Kaeya to let Wei Zhenzu sleep longer, then supplies the Anemo mark and travel catalyst. Although the drink sends Wei off course, the mark later stops Dvalin’s devastating breath attack and helps expose the Golden Bough through the Holy Lyre’s purifying music 11 23.

After Dvalin’s core is shattered, Venti arrives to sing the remnant soul into the winds of Mondstadt. He heals the surviving party and subsequently carries them down from the ruined tower on wind currents 32 33 34.

Timmie’s Distortion and Return to Tavern Life

When Timmie attacks the returning group as the Lord of the Birds of the Bridge, Venti supplies a guaranteed Identity ticket to the Lunacy-depleted Wei Zhenzu. After the Distortion is defeated, he eats a roasted “chicken leg missile” and remarks that Mondstadt now has food to accompany its drinks 34 35 37.

He later resumes entertaining patrons at Angel’s Share. On seeing him receive cider from amused mercenaries, Wei Zhenzu leaves rather than risk being saddled with the tavern bill 44.
