| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Name | Heavenly Screen |
| Original Name | 天幕 |
| Alias(es) | Sky Screen 2 |
| Nature | A vast screen of light that broadcasts events across time 2 |
| Location | Above the Douluo Continent; visible from indoors, concealed realms, and the Divine Realm 13 42 |
| Role | Broadcasts events thirteen years in the future, including divine punishment and its aftermath 2 16 52 |
| First Appearance | Chapter 2 |
Appearance
- Emerges from a crack that splits the sky after a thunderous boom, then expands across a vast stretch of the heavens 2.
- Initially appears blank before forming moving images of the future 2.
- Displays transparent status cards above the people shown onscreen 2.
- Casts pale blue light over its viewers during Tang San’s cultivation reset 11.
Background / History
The Heavenly Screen appears while six-year-old Wu Wei is attending a first-year class at a junior Soul Master Academy. Its arrival frightens people across the Douluo Continent, including Titled Douluos who cannot explain the phenomenon. It then places an announcement in the minds of every living being beneath it, identifying itself and stating that its images show events thirteen years in the future 2.
Its appearance also triggers the Divine Realm Core’s highest-level alarm. The gods gather to investigate, but cannot identify its origin or interfere with it. After the God of Destruction’s attempt to tear it apart fails, the Asura God tells the others to watch rather than intervene 13.
Its creator and ultimate purpose remain unidentified. Bibi Dong and several gods interpret the broadcast as an opportunity to discover the cause of divine punishment and change the future; this is their conclusion, not a stated mission from the screen 16 17.
Abilities & Functions
Cross-Time Broadcasting
The screen transmits moving images and speech from thirteen years in the future to viewers in the past 2.
- Switches between locations, including Jialing Pass, the Star Dou Great Forest, imperial cities, and Sea God Island 12 16 45 52.
- Uses overhead views and close-ups to show battles, conversations, and cultivation 2 30.
- Broadcast subjects can remain unaware of their audience: future Wu Wei does not know he is being shown to the past, and Poseidon unknowingly broadcasts his complaints about the Asura God 2 52.
- By the later broadcasts, it activates each morning, shows Wu Wei first, and then cycles through other figures’ cultivation progress 52.
Visibility and Mental Announcement
The Heavenly Screen is accessible to humans, Soul Beasts, and gods 2 13.
- Its opening announcement appears directly in the minds of living beings across the Douluo Continent 2.
- Viewers can see it simply by looking up, even inside rooms 42.
- Gu Yuena can watch from her concealed realm beneath the Lake of Life 42.
- The gods can observe it across the void from the Divine Realm 13.
Status Cards
The screen identifies its subjects through attribute panels 2 17.
| Displayed Information | Examples |
|---|---|
| Name | Identifies Wu Wei, Qian Renxue, Qian Yuhan, Ye Si, and Poseidon 2 6 17 52. |
| Age | Lists Wu Wei as nineteen; some gods’ ages appear as “xx” 2 17 52. |
| Cultivation | Shows cultivation levels, ranks, and divine identities 2 6 17. |
| Soul Rings | Lists ring configurations before punishment and the absence of rings afterward 2 16. |
| Changing Status | Tracks cultivation falling during divine punishment and later rising through recultivation 12 41 45. |
Resistance to Divine Interference
The screen operates beyond the gods’ demonstrated ability to control it 13.
- The God of Destruction cannot tear it apart despite attempting to use his destructive power 13.
- The gods cannot locate its source; one describes it as seemingly existing everywhere rather than belonging to either the Divine Realm or the Douluo Continent 13.
- Broadcasts of divine punishment carry terrifying pressure that viewers can feel, including gods watching across the void 4 14.
Selective Presentation and Limits
The broadcast does not provide unrestricted access to every person, location, or technique 29 42 64.
- When Wu Wei enters an inn room with Qian Yuhan and Ye Si, the view cuts to the closed door rather than showing the interior 29.
- Gu Yuena is omitted from the displayed recultivation comparisons, leaving her future progress unrevealed 42.
- Viewers notice the absence of Sword Douluo, Bone Douluo, and other experts. Some infer that missing figures have died, but absence alone is not presented as confirmation 43 44.
- Watching Wu Wei silently guide Ye Si’s Soul Power does not allow the general audience to learn his Automatic Cultivation Method 64.

Influence on the Past
Wu Wei
- Exposure and pursuit: His future identity and treatment of the goddesses make him a target. Qian Daoliu orders his assassination, while other factions seek his cultivation methods. Young Wu Wei leaves the academy, changes his name, and hides 22 23 37.
- Learning from his future self: His heaven-defying comprehension and Talent Linkage allow him to obtain insights from the broadcast, including automatic cultivation, a revival technique, and Teleportation. These gains depend on Wu Wei’s own abilities rather than a general reward function of the screen 25 26 30 56.
Mortal Factions
- Spirit Hall’s targets: After seeing Tang San’s future godhood and the young Shrek members’ strength, Bibi Dong orders Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo to kill them 9.
- Shrek’s breakup: The revelations prompt efforts to retrieve or protect its students. Ning Rongrong leaves with Sword Douluo, followed by the departures of the other core members 37 40.
- Heaven Dou succession: Xue Beng’s appearance as the future emperor wins him support, undermining Qian Renxue’s position as Xue Qinghe and pushing her toward forcing Xue Ye’s abdication 27 64.
- Soul Beast hunting restrictions: Interest in Blood Essence Soul Rings contributes to debate over indiscriminate slaughter, with Spirit Hall and other factions supporting restrictions 60 67.
Divine Realm
- Evidence against the gods: The broadcasts support accusations against Asura, Poseidon, the God of Food, and the Nine-Colored Goddess. The four accept punishment and are banished to the mortal realm 33 34 35.
- Deterrence against intervention: Fear of triggering divine punishment prevents Qian Yuhan and Ye Si from retaliating directly against the six-year-old Wu Wei 22 29.
- Abandoned succession plans: Poseidon, Asura, and other gods decide to retain their godhoods rather than risk having to recultivate without them if divine punishment occurs 70.
