After they recovered the Scroll of Seals and reunited with their brothers, Tobirama and Hashirama learned how Konoha had fared under Hiruzen and confronted him over its failures.

• Zhang Yu arranged for Hashirama and Madara to supervise Team 7's bell test, which Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke passed through teamwork.
• Madara learned of the Uchiha Clan Massacre from Sasuke, and Zhang Yu recalled him and Hashirama to the tavern before they could confront Hiruzen Sarutobi.
