Strongest Secret Technique; strength reported as comparable to Chaos City Lord 267 Returned with Raise Fire to Scorch the Heavens and a black iron staff later confirmed to be a Mysterious Object. Overwhelmed the Lord of Zongyan, who reported his strength to humanity.

Background / History

Originally named Cao Benqi, Yan Emperor rose from an inexperienced youth through repeated dangers to become Sitting Mountain Guest’s disciple. During his early rise, he was an exceptionally prominent genius of the Primal Universe, though his reputation faded over the following ages 241 269.

Sitting Mountain Guest had created the Yan God Race with the potential to reach a 90,000-fold Life Gene Level and develop an Infinite Divine Body. Yan Emperor was its most outstanding genius, but his impatience led him to become a Universe Master before attaining perfect genes. Because the race’s innate evolutionary talent functioned only before that breakthrough, he forfeited the intended route to its full potential 155 181.

He also completed Sitting Mountain Guest’s trial through the Universe Master shortcut. Although he received North Prison and the North Prison Bead, his teacher did not order Empress Feiye, Lord Xiwu, and Venerable Chilan to serve him as they would a disciple who passed properly 192 207.

Despite receiving extensive support from humanity, Yan Emperor eventually led the entire Yan God Race out of the Human Race. The Lord of Ice Peak attacked him during the original conflict, forcing him to flee under the protection of the Tribulation Armor. Sitting Mountain Guest’s backing subsequently deterred humanity from pursuing him further 191 225 230.

Appearance

  • Build: Tall and burly, with a true divine body nearly ten thousand kilometers high 229 231.
  • Scales: Dense black scales cover his body 231.
  • Horn: A single black horn rises from his forehead 231.
  • Eyes: Blood-colored eyes are described during his return in the Universe Ocean 267.
  • Presence: Air streaming from his nostrils is enough to make the surrounding void burn 231.

Personality

Yan Emperor is proud, domineering, and highly susceptible to provocation. During his battle with the Lord of Ice Peak, contemptuous remarks repeatedly drove him to attack despite his disadvantage. His pursuit of an early Universe Master breakthrough likewise reflected an unwillingness to endure prolonged cultivation for greater future potential 181 225.

He interprets setbacks as betrayals by others rather than consequences of his own decisions. When Sitting Mountain Guest negotiated to save his life at the cost of his treasures, Yan Emperor accused his teacher of favoritism and blamed Luo Ao for his humiliation. He later exposed both of their secrets to hostile races despite understanding the consequences 230 231 240.

His ambition survives even severe losses. Reduced to second-tier strength, he entered the Universe Ocean with incomplete maps in search of a comeback. After gaining new power, however, he prioritized revenge and willingly traded injuries to wear down his opponents 241 267 268.

Abilities & Skills

Yan God Race Physiology

His unusually powerful life genes and enormous divine body provide substantial strength and endurance 225.

  • His Life Gene Level is described as approximately 9,000-fold, and later as ten-thousandfold; he never reaches the 10,081-fold Perfect Gene Level 181 231.
  • His divine body can sustain prolonged divine-power burning, allowing extended close combat and injury-for-injury tactics 225 267.
  • Bloodline resonance allows him to recognize Luo Ao’s Yan God Race origin 227.
  • He has no cloning ability 230.

Close-Quarters Combat

Yan Emperor follows the warrior’s close-combat path, using a savage, forceful style rather than the Lord of Ice Peak’s precise and economical movements 225.

  • Originally fights with the Yan God Halberd, later replacing it with a black iron staff 225 267.
  • Uses his large divine-power reserves to pressure opponents through repeated full-strength attacks 267.
  • Before his return from the Universe Ocean, his techniques remain at the Ultimate level rather than the Universe Master Strongest level 225 267.

Raise Fire to Scorch the Heavens

A Universe Master Strongest Secret Technique revealed during his attack on the Lord of Zongyan 267.

  • Channels his offensive power into the black iron staff, wrapping it in pitch-black flames 267.
  • At his true body size, he wields the staff at more than thirty thousand kilometers long 267.
  • Its effectiveness depends heavily on the staff’s amplification; the Lord of Zongyan identifies the weapon as a major source of his sudden increase in strength 267.

Spatial and Domain Control

  • Space Lockdown: Used to trap the Lord of Zongyan during his renewed campaign against humanity’s allies 267.
  • Blood Fire Prison: A top-tier Domain-type Supreme Treasure, assessed as somewhat stronger than the Lord of Ice Peak’s former Cold Mist Realm 268.
  • Limit: Blood Fire Prison is overwhelmed by the Peak Domain-type Supreme Treasure Two Poles Heaven, preventing him from escaping the Lord of Ice Peak 268.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

Original Peak Supreme Treasures

All three were forged by Sitting Mountain Guest and confiscated as the price of sparing Yan Emperor’s life 230 231.

  • Yan God Halberd — Peak Supreme Treasure weapon used in his prolonged duel with the Lord of Ice Peak 225.
  • Tribulation Armor — Physical-defense treasure that reduces many of the Lord of Ice Peak’s direct hits to negligible injuries. Later given to Luo Ao 226 231.
  • Original Soul — Soul-protection treasure that makes killing him through soul attacks difficult. Also given to Luo Ao 229 231.

Later Equipment

  • Black iron staff / black divine iron — A Mysterious Object that dramatically amplifies his attacks. Giant Axe Founder claims it after his death 267 269.
  • Black Battle Armor — Peak Supreme Treasure Armor worn during his final battle. Giant Axe Founder’s attacks exceed its defensive limit 269.
  • Blood Fire Prison — His domain treasure during the final confrontation with the Lord of Ice Peak 268.
  • Blood-colored warship — A spaceship Supreme Treasure used to travel through and hunt within the Lost Sand Realm 267 268.
  • Silk Thread Map — A highly detailed Tilted Peak Realm fragment map associated with Xuan Yuan. Found among his possessions after his death and linked to his acquisition of the Mysterious Object 269.

Former Trial Rewards

  • North Prison and North Prison Bead — Awarded despite his shortcut through Sitting Mountain Guest’s trial. He served as North Prison Lord for a time, before Luo Ao later inherited the identity 207 241.

Relationships

  • Sitting Mountain Guest — Teacher and former protector. Disappointed by Yan Emperor’s squandered potential, he nevertheless negotiates to save his life. Yan Emperor later exposes his secret identities; Sitting Mountain Guest subsequently tells Luo Ao to show Yan Emperor no mercy 181 230 240 248.
  • Luo Ao / Asura — Junior fellow disciple and eventual enemy. Yan Emperor recognizes his bloodline during the Lost Land battle, then blames him for his capture and loss of treasures 227 231.
  • Puti — Senior fellow disciple who informs him that Sitting Mountain Guest has accepted another disciple 227.
  • Lord of Ice Peak — Longstanding enemy who attacks him during his defection, helps capture him in the Lost Land, and traps him again before his death 225 228 268.
  • Giant Axe Founder — Initially refrains from killing him out of regard for Sitting Mountain Guest; ultimately executes him after his renewed attacks on humanity’s allies 230 269.
  • Lord Minglian — Temporary ally who accepts his treasure molds in exchange for helping him escape the Lord of Ice Peak 226.
  • Mechanical Race Father God — Receives his disclosures about Sitting Mountain Guest and Luo Ao, using the information to prepare a trap 240 241.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Capture in the Lost Land

Yan Emperor encounters the Lord of Ice Peak while competing for treasure molds in a fourth-level spacetime. Although his defenses allow him to survive their prolonged battle, he cannot shake off his pursuer. He trades his molds to Lord Minglian for assistance, only for the Lord of Long Xing and Luo Ao to join the fight 225 226 227.

After Lord Minglian’s death, the three opponents combine direct attacks, domain suppression, and spacetime restraints to force Yan Emperor into the Ice Mountain Palace 228.

Confiscation and Retaliation

Sitting Mountain Guest offers humanity materials for a Peak Supreme Treasure in exchange for Yan Emperor’s life, while permitting the confiscation of his three Peak Supreme Treasures. Giant Axe Founder accepts. Back at the Yan God Race’s palace complex, Yan Emperor directs his anger toward his teacher, the Lord of Ice Peak, and Luo Ao 230 231.

He subsequently reveals Sitting Mountain Guest’s identities as North Prison Lord and Blood Cloud Palace Master, along with Luo Ao’s discipleship and trial arrangements. This intelligence helps the Demon, Zerg, and Machine races organize an ambush against Luo Ao 240 241.

Universe Ocean Expedition

With his combat strength reduced to second tier, Yan Emperor enters the Tilted Peak Realm seeking opportunities to recover and eventually become a Universe Supreme Master. The Nine Domains Alliance’s severely incomplete maps leave him exploring without clear direction 241.

He later reappears with a Mysterious Object, improved equipment, and a Strongest Secret Technique. In the Lost Sand Realm, he overwhelms the Lord of Zongyan and collects his remaining treasures, then hunts the Master of Jinguang while human experts search for him 267 268.

Death and the Suspected Trap

The Lord of Ice Peak intercepts him with Two Poles Heaven and a newly mastered Fifth-Tier Secret Technique. Unable to escape the domain, Yan Emperor is held until Giant Axe Founder arrives. Giant Axe repeatedly strikes through his armor and annihilates him as Luo Ao reaches the battlefield 268 269.

The valuable map left among his possessions raises suspicion that his conspicuous revenge campaign was bait. Luo Ao points out that Yan Emperor deliberately attracted human powerhouses despite having no answer to Giant Axe Founder. Three hidden beings subsequently discuss Yan Emperor’s failure as part of their unsuccessful attempt to manipulate the Primal Universe 269 270.
