Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lowgod — Edicts of Fate | 36 | Had attained Lowgod ten years earlier. Her innate ability could affect a God, but Betty warned that it could not kill Aogemate at her current level. |
| God — Edicts of Fate | 52 | Advanced while living in the Sinking Fire Tribe. Together with her innate ability, this made her nearly invincible among Gods, though still unable to contend effectively with Highgods. |
| Lowgod — Water Element | 56 | Gained insight after studying the Heart of Flowing Extension for three days. Independently attained godhood, split her soul, and formed a blue-haired Water Divine Clone. |
| God — Water Element; two Profound Mysteries fused | 87 | Completed the fusion of Essence of Water and Flowing Water, advancing to God simultaneously. Her Water Divine Clone became comparable to an ordinary Highgod. |
| Additional two-mystery fusion | 95 | After a century of training, fused Essence of Water with Mist Illusion. Began working on Mist Illusion–Flowing Water fusion as preparation for combining all three. |
| Highgod — Edicts of Fate | 98 | Reached Highgod during several hundred years of travel and cultivation. Her dragon pearl fully formed upon reaching this realm, greatly enhancing her soul techniques 339. |
| Highgod — Water Element, confirmed | 337 338 | By the Azure Prefect challenge, her Water Divine Clone had reached Highgod. The breakthrough itself is not dated in the supplied account. |
| Three Water Profound Mysteries fused, confirmed | 338 | Used three-mystery techniques such as Deep Sea Space. Her Water Law attacks exceeded those of an ordinary Seven Star Wavewalker, but remained below Vidas’s five-mystery attainments. |
| High-level Fate Sovereign | 347 | Refined the Fate High-level Sovereign Spark recovered by Luo Ao from Nightmare Valley. Ascended within Spatial Turbulence. |
| Asura-level mastery — Edicts of Fate | 348 | Quickly raised her Fate comprehension to the Asura level after becoming a Sovereign. At this point, she was neither a Fate Paragon nor an Overgod Divine Artifact owner. |
Appearance
Echidna’s human form is a beautiful young woman with waist-length silver hair, clear eyes, and a composed expression. Her Water Divine Clone instead has long blue hair 38 56.
- Early armor: Exquisitely crafted white battle armor, with an ice-blue gem at the waist that radiates frost 38.
- Miluo Island outfit: Black fitted soft armor, white sleeves, blue-accented gloves and boots, shoulder feathers, and an azure single-shoulder cape. Luo Ao purchases the outfit for eight million Inkstones 90.
- Azure Prefect challenge: Wears close-fitting sea-blue armor, later identified as a Material Defense Sovereign Artifact 337 339.
- Divine ability manifestation: An enormous azure crystal dragon phantom, ten thousand meters long, coils behind her when she activates her innate ability 88 340.
Personality
Echidna is deeply protective of the dragons she grew up with. Although she enjoys teasing younger dragons such as Andy, the prospect of them being forced into a Divine Plane and killed leaves her grief-stricken. During Aogemate’s threat, she considers fighting despite the enormous difference in strength 36.
She is curious about unfamiliar places, local cultures, and cultivation techniques. She enjoys exploring Freedom Castle with Monica, looks forward to watching Miluo Island’s arena battles, and later proposes traveling through the eleven great planes with Luo Ao 90 91 342 345.
Her confidence grows with her strength, but she remains aware of her limitations. She does not become conceited after saving fellow Fiends from bandits, and she openly acknowledges that her Water Law alone cannot defeat Vidas. Even during that dangerous duel, she prolongs their exchanges to learn from his techniques 88 338 340.
Echidna has little interest in routine administration. After winning Azure Prefecture, she delegates its everyday affairs and decides she need only return if challenged. Sovereign factional disputes later irritate her for similar reasons 342 348.
Abilities & Skills
Innate Divine Ability: Stasis Domain
Stasis Domain alters the flow of time around its targets rather than directly damaging them. Its effectiveness increases dramatically after Echidna reaches Highgod 337 340 341.
- Manifests as azure crystalline light accompanied by a gigantic dragon phantom 340 341.
- Can immobilize multiple enemies: while still a God, Echidna traps more than twenty God bandits before killing them with a water-dragon attack 88.
- Works best against a single target, approaching a true time stop and making even conscious thought difficult 341.
- Against Vidas, changes the flow of time within roughly ten meters of him, preventing him from responding to her killing strike 341.
- Pash judges its effectiveness comparable to the Azure Dragon divine beast’s Dragon Roar; combined with her other abilities, it threatens even Prefect-level opponents 341.
Edicts of Fate
Fate is Echidna’s natural affinity and principal cultivation path. By the Vidas duel, her unenhanced comprehension only barely meets the standard of an ordinary Seven Star Fate Apostle, but her dragon pearl and mutated soul elevate her soul attacks to Prefect-threatening strength 338 339.
- Wheel of Fate: Releases a silvery phantom moon blade through a crescent-shaped ring-blade Divine Artifact. One direct hit shatters a black-robed guard’s soul 63.
- Fate Judgment: Projects a translucent golden wheel carrying immense soul pressure. Vidas survives through his specialized Water Flow Spirit defense, though the attack’s lingering force knocks dozens of Highgods from the sky 339.
- Fate Cage: Forms translucent golden chains that bind and influence the target’s soul. It briefly restrains Vidas but cannot penetrate his soul defense 339.
- Sword-delivered Fate Judgment: Combines a physical killing strike with a soul attack. Echidna uses this version to pierce Vidas’s forehead and kill him while Stasis Domain holds him motionless 341.
- Material-attack limitation: Without Fused Divine Power, her golden sword strike against Vidas only reaches ordinary Seven Star Fate Apostle strength and fails to seriously injure him 339.
Water Law
Echidna cultivates the Water Law alongside Fate, following Luo Ao’s advice to comprehend and fuse Profound Mysteries simultaneously. This delays individual breakthroughs but makes later fusion easier 52 56.
| Technique | Function and limitations |
|---|---|
| Water Dragon’s Roar | Creates two intertwining water dragons through the fusion of Essence of Water and Flowing Water. They bind enemies and apply crushing pressure; their continuously regenerating nature makes them difficult to destroy 87 93. |
| Deep Sea Space | Encloses an enemy in a spherical water prison roughly a thousand meters across. Follow-up changes can compress it to palm size and crush the captive. Vidas counters it effortlessly despite its ingenious three-mystery construction 338. |
| Water Ripple Tide | A whip-based attack expressing Flowing Water. Its unusual application interests Vidas despite his superior Water Law comprehension 338. |
| Flower of the Water Curtain | Forms a gigantic transparent lotus of flowing water. Vidas studies the technique, but it lacks the power to threaten him 338. |
- Fusion training: After Luosaina’s Mist Vortex neutralizes Water Dragon’s Roar, Echidna begins exploring Mist Illusion’s physical properties as a route toward three-mystery fusion 93.
- Relative strength: During the prefect challenge, her Water techniques are somewhat stronger than those of an ordinary Seven Star Wavewalker. Luo Ao’s taught techniques would allow her to rival a true Water prefect if she fused four mysteries 338.
Dragon Pearl
A dragon pearl fully forms after Echidna becomes a Highgod, providing a major enhancement to soul-based techniques 339.
- Greatly amplifies Fate Judgment’s soul attack 339.
- Serves as the center for concentrating soul power when she uses Fate Cage 339.
- Adds a soul-binding effect, but does not provide a comparable boost to material attacks 339.
Soul Mutation and Fused Divine Power
Luo Ao modifies Echidna into a soul mutant before her battle with Vidas; the exact timing and number of mutated elements are not specified 339.
- Her soul becomes far stronger than those of ordinary Highgods, improving her soul attacks and resistance 339.
- Soul mutation contributes to her rapid cultivation progress 339.
- She can use Fused Divine Power, but avoids revealing it casually because its characteristics are easily recognized 339.
Sovereign Power
Refining a High-level Fate Sovereign Spark grants Echidna Fate Sovereign Power and allows her to assume authority in the Celestial Realm 347 348.
- Her initial strength remains below that of the other three Edict Sovereigns. Even after reaching Asura-level Fate comprehension, she is only barely stronger than an ordinary Elemental Sovereign 348.
- She recognizes the gap when witnessing Lilith and Uhtred clash with their Overgod Divine Artifacts 354.
- She later acquires the Fate Overgod Sword, created specifically by Luo Ao 359.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Material Defense Sovereign Artifact armor — A gift from Luo Ao. Protects her against Vidas’s space-tearing whip attacks and the impacts of Spatial Turbulence. Before becoming a Sovereign, surviving that turbulence does not mean she can navigate it independently 337 339 347.
- Crescent ring-blade Divine Artifact — Used to launch Wheel of Fate 63.
- Divine Artifact whip — Used for Water Dragon’s Roar and other Water Law techniques 87 93.
- Golden holy sword — Used for close-range Fate attacks, including the strike that kills Vidas 339 341.
- Heart of Flowing Extension — A crystal ball Kele gives Luo Ao and Echidna studies. Its changing river visions inspire her Water-element godhood breakthrough; it offers insight rather than directly improving talent 56.
- Cyan droplets — Emergency resources supplied by Luo Ao, who tells her not to hesitate to use them if endangered 67.
- Azure Water — The water-attribute Primordial Divine Weapon taken from Vidas. Echidna gives the dark green whip to Luo Ao, who names it 340 342.
- Fate High-level Sovereign Spark — Recovered by Luo Ao from a hidden Space Ring on a Nightmare Beast and refined by Echidna 347.
- Fate Overgod Sword — Created by Luo Ao after his transcendence. Echidna binds it with blood and confirms it is an Overgod Divine Artifact 359.
Relationships
- Luo Ao — Romantic partner, cultivation adviser, and closest ally. He teaches her techniques, provides protective equipment, modifies her soul, and gives her the Sovereign Spark that enables her ascension 52 338 339 347.
- Betty — Planar overseer whom Echidna calls “Sister Betty.” Betty values her divine-beast potential and offers personal shelter, but refuses to risk fighting Aogemate or protecting the entire dragon race 36 39.
- Duolagu — The old Dragon God, addressed affectionately as “Grandpa Duolagu.” He warns her to be careful when she investigates Luo Ao’s godhood ripple 38.
- Andy, Lucy, Elton, and the other dragons — Companions whose safety motivates her attempts to oppose Aogemate 36.
- Suosuomiluo — Companion during the Sinking Fire Tribe conflict and subsequent journey to Tagan City 53 56.
- Monica — Friendly traveling companion who introduces her to Miluo Island and accompanies her shopping and sightseeing 87 90 91.
- Luosaina — Sparring partner on Miluo Island. Her Mist Vortex gives Echidna ideas for further Water Law fusion 93.
- Vidas — Azure Prefect and opponent in her prefect challenge. His techniques provide useful inspiration before she kills him and takes his position 338 340 341.
- Lilith — Fellow Edict Sovereign. Echidna feels uneasy about Lilith’s request involving Luo Ao and later witnesses the considerable difference between their combat strength 348 354.
History
Aogemate’s Threat and Meeting Luo Ao
Echidna lives among the dragons of the Forest of Dragons on the Boya Continent. When Aogemate threatens the continent’s Saint-level experts, she asks Betty to intervene. Betty warns that Echidna’s Lowgod strength is insufficient to defeat him, even with her innate ability, leaving her unable to protect all her companions 36.
After Luo Ao kills Aogemate, Echidna investigates a godhood ripple and finds him in a nameless valley. She recognizes him from the Sacred Spring Water contest more than fifty years earlier, while he recognizes her soul aura as that of the mysterious dragon. She thanks him for killing Aogemate and is astonished by his growth from Saint-level expert to the Guardian God of Boya 38.
She remains with Luo Ao in the valley, then travels across the continent with him. Together they investigate reports of Weiersi, the God of Life, in the Forest of Nature 39.
Entering the Infernal Realm
Echidna and Luo Ao decline Betty’s invitation to the Radiant Divine Realm and instead use her teleportation array to enter the Infernal Realm. The Sinking Fire Tribe becomes their first foothold there 47 56.
Their quiet cultivation ends when the Azure Snake Organization attacks the tribe. Echidna joins the defenders, with Luo Ao warning her to remain close amid mass soul attacks. Afterward, they travel toward Tagan City with Kele’s party 52 53 56.
She later registers for the Fiend assessment with Luo Ao and participates in its fighting. During the aftermath of the Black Demon Mountain battle, she keeps watch while he absorbs a new Water Law insight 59 63 64.
Fiend Missions and Miluo Island
Echidna and Luo Ao accept an escort mission from Taya City toward Eternal Night Prefecture for eight hundred thousand Inkstones. After reaching Eternal Night City, they remain to watch Liermons challenge Fafnir at the Ember Mountains 67 75 76.
During their first journey across the Star Mist Sea, Echidna tests her newly fused Water techniques against bandits. Her water dragons and innate ability kill nearly half the God bandits, earning the other Fiends’ gratitude. A later bandit attack ends when Xide intervenes to save the group 87 88 90.
On Miluo Island, she explores Freedom Castle and the arena with Monica. At Luo Ao’s request, Mosi assembles more than ten talented Gods as sparring partners, giving her sustained opportunities to refine her Water Law techniques 90 91 93.
Winning Azure Prefecture
After previously defeating Tilani, Echidna challenges Vidas for the position of Azure Prefect. Her Water Law techniques cannot overcome his superior comprehension, so she switches to her stronger Fate Divine Clone 337 338.
Vidas withstands her enhanced soul attacks and brings out a dark green Primordial Divine Weapon. Echidna’s Sovereign Artifact armor protects her, and she refuses his proposal to end the contest in a draw. On Luo Ao’s prompting, she uses Stasis Domain and kills Vidas with a sword-delivered Fate Judgment, becoming the new Azure Prefect 339 340 341.
She delegates the prefecture’s routine affairs, gives Vidas’s weapon to Luo Ao, and proposes traveling through the eleven great planes before visiting more Material Planes 342.
Fate Sovereign and Later Events
While traveling, Echidna’s observation that Material Planes possess distinct histories, cultures, and writing systems helps Luo Ao recognize a clue in the Sovereign Spark riddle. He subsequently recovers the Fate High-level Sovereign Spark from Nightmare Valley and gives it to her 345 347.
After her ascension, she swiftly assumes control of the Celestial Realm with Luo Ao’s backing. Their alliance attracts new Sovereigns seeking stronger representation, but also draws disputes over status, factional interests, and the recruitment of Sovereign’s Emissaries 348.
When Luo Ao apparently destroys all his remaining bodies during his final breakthrough, Echidna believes him dead and breaks down in grief. He reappears, reassures her, and forms a new body from the powers of the Four Edicts. She accompanies him to meet the gathered Sovereigns and later returns with him to Dona Castle, where he creates the Fate Overgod Sword for her 358 359.
