After guiding First High to the finals, Chiba defeated Shinkuro Kichijoji with a mysterious microscopic interference spell, drawing the attention of powerful observers.

• Chiba Yeyou uncovered a plot to sabotage First High School, killed the men who tried to recruit him, and warned Harunobu Kazama that No Head Dragon might disrupt the competition.
• Chiba Yeyou won Icicle Destruction with Flame Hell, while Miyuki Shiba later defeated her opponents using the new magic he had taught her.
• After Shun Morisaki and two other students were injured in a building collapse, Chiba Yeyou restored them, and he and Tatsuya Shiba suspected a mole had used access to competitors’ CADs to arrange the attack.

Chiba Yeyou helped First High win the Nine Schools Competition, dismantled No Head Dragon’s Japan branch, and became involved in efforts to protect the school and Tatsuya Shiba from factions pursuing a Relic. The stretch ended with Chiba and Mari Watanabe confronting Lü Ganghu at the detention center after Isao Sekimoto disclosed his group’s plan.
