Background / History

Lord Tongtian leads the Jie Sect from Golden Turtle Island, where he expounds the Great Dao to disciples of varying standing. His early attitude toward Hongxuan is one of curiosity: after observing the human’s Immortal Ascension Tribulation, he notes Hongxuan’s poor origins but extraordinary comprehension and unusual fate. 7 8

When the Three Xiao Sisters and Hongxuan are trapped inside the Death Grand Array, Tongtian deduces their situation, travels to the immortal island, destroys the array, and returns them safely to Golden Ao Island. He takes custody of the treasures recovered there—Death Scythe, Netherworld Diagram, and Death Netherworld Tower—and distributes them among the group. 13

Tongtian initially delays formally accepting Hongxuan as a personal disciple, preferring to observe his development. He later recognizes Hongxuan’s potential during a major sermon, grants him a front-row seat, and accepts both Hongxuan and Yunxiao as personal disciples. 15 76

Personality

Tongtian is direct, proud, and highly protective of his lineage. He repeatedly intervenes when Jie Sect disciples face fatal danger, even when he is dissatisfied with their conduct.
