  • Warships: A Storm City cultivator recalled seeing a sect warship measuring tens of thousands of zhang, far smaller than the Nine Nether Rebirth Boat 6.

Subordinate Cities

The sect directly appointed city lords to govern its ten main cities. Fire Cloud Main City was more than a hundred times the size of Storm City and maintained order through its four Divine Body Realm administrators 11.

History

Rise as a Pinnacle Power

Founded tens of thousands of years earlier, the Star Divine Sect survived numerous battles and became one of the Desolate Domain’s five pinnacle powers. Jiang Xiaotian credited its predecessors’ sacrifices for its standing and described the sect as a starting point from which generations of disciples entered the wider world 16 18.

The sect participated in Heavenly Moon Commandery’s Heavenly Pride Battle tens of thousands of years before the main events, but later stopped attending. Commandery officials continued collecting twenty percent of its resources every ten years 39.

Connection to the Jun Clan’s Destruction

Jiang Xueyi was formerly engaged to Jun Wudao but left their wedding with Su Fan. After Su Fan exterminated the Jun Clan, Jiang Xiaotian regarded him as his future son-in-law and believed his reputation would deter enemies from attacking the sect 14 15 19.

Jun Wudao blamed Jiang Xueyi for initiating the events that destroyed his family. Upon returning, he chose the Star Divine Sect as a target both for revenge and to test his new strength, deciding to destroy its subordinate cities before confronting its Divine Soul Realm guardian 10.

Fall of the Ten Cities

The deaths at Fire Cloud Main City first reached Jiang Xiaotian through extinguished soul lamps. He dispatched Daoist Yinyang to investigate and authorized punishment regardless of the attacker’s identity or faction 14.

As further cities fell, the leadership could not identify the enemy and considered whether an outside power was responsible. Jiang Xiaotian recalled Yinyang, activated the protective formation, and summoned the sect’s senior personnel. He also ordered Qingxia to select three thousand seed disciples to preserve its legacy; their successful evacuation is not established 15 16.

Destruction of the Headquarters

Jiang Xiaotian rallied a million disciples to defend their home, but their confidence collapsed when the Nine Nether Rebirth Boat appeared. Recognizing Jun Wudao, the sect’s members were stunned: they had witnessed Su Fan apparently kill him during the Jun Clan’s destruction 18 19.

Jun Wudao declared that Su Fan, Jiang Xueyi, and the forces behind them would face his revenge. His opening strike destroyed the protective formation and crushed a third of the headquarters, killing or wounding tens of thousands. The sect’s combined counterattack failed, and its senior leadership was rapidly overwhelmed 20 21 22 23 24.

Feng Jue emerged from the Star Forbidden Ground to intercept a renewed assault and ordered the survivors to retreat a hundred thousand miles. Despite briefly restoring their hopes, he could not defeat Jun Wudao. His Star Domain collapsed, he was beheaded, and hundreds of thousands of disciples perished with the domain’s destruction 27 28 29 30.

Aftermath

Shangguan Xiongtian and his entourage later inspected the devastated grounds. Their discussion confirmed the sect’s former standing and its resource payments to Heavenly Moon Commandery 39.

Jiang Xueyi subsequently arrived with Su Fan and Shangguan Feiyue. Seeing the ruins, she cried out for her parents and rushed down into the destroyed headquarters, followed by Su Fan 40.

External Relationships

  • Jun Clan — Fellow pinnacle power and former prospective marriage partner through Jun Wudao and Jiang Xueyi. Their broken engagement became central to Jun Wudao’s grievance against the sect 10 19.
  • Su Fan — Jiang Xiaotian’s prospective son-in-law. Some defenders expected him and Jiang Xueyi to avenge the sect if it fell 14 22.
  • Jun Wudao — Enemy who destroyed the sect and its ten subordinate cities in retaliation for his clan’s annihilation 10 20 30.
  • Half-Moon Mountain Manor, Earth Demon Cave, and Sword Repository Pavilion — Rival pinnacle powers initially suspected of arranging the attacks because they could contend with the sect 14.
  • Heavenly Moon Commandery — Collected twenty percent of the sect’s resources every decade and recorded its standing among the Desolate Domain’s leading powers 39.
