Xu Wei comes from an ordinary commoner family and has limited access to cultivation knowledge and resources outside the academy. He began studying at the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy after awakening his Martial Soul. By the holiday break, he is explicitly described as an orphan with nowhere else to go 16 30 40.
He moved into the new dormitory two days before Kong Xuan arrived. Initially intimidated by his roommate’s bearing and golden eyes, he relaxed when Kong Xuan treated him warmly. After discovering that the same-aged Kong Xuan was already a rank-twenty-two Soul Grandmaster, Xu Wei began calling him “Brother Xuan” 16 17.
