Background / History

Kong Xuan transmigrated into a child’s body while retaining the mind of someone in his twenties. Village chief Zhou Yan found him and his twin sister, Kong Ling, in the mountains. With neither parent present, the siblings survived through the village’s support and lived in a small thatched hut beside the chief’s home. Their only clue to their ancestry was a jade plaque bearing the character “Kong” 1 6.

His friend Qiangu Fuliu supplied the money needed for the siblings’ Martial Soul awakenings. Both awakened with innate full Soul Power, earning admission to Shiquan Junior Soul Engineer Academy with their expenses waived. Kong Xuan recognized his Atlas Spear as the Martial Soul of Yun Ming, a powerful figure from ten thousand years in the future 1 2 3.

During meditation, he discovered that Yun Ming had crossed worlds with him and resided in his Sea of Consciousness. Yun Ming became his master and began teaching him cultivation, spear techniques, and practical combat 3 5 23.

Kong Deming later identified the siblings’ jade plaque as a Kong Clan heirloom and recognized them as descendants of relatives displaced by a calamity a century earlier. He brought them to Mingdu, treated them as his grandchildren, and provided intensive nutrition, physical conditioning, and cultivation resources 6 7 9.

Appearance

Personality

Kong Xuan is composed and mature beyond his physical age. Having struggled to survive before receiving Kong Deming’s protection, he remains uncomfortable with servants attending to him and initially feels embarrassed about troubling them 1 7.

His caution centers on Tang San, whom he regards as a potential enemy. He carefully manages what others know about his abilities, presenting Yun Ming’s ring-condensation assistance as divine favor to explain his unusual cultivation and secure stronger protection from Kong Deming. Possessing a single potential strike with the Ruyi Golden Cudgel makes him more willing to act, but does not erase his concern about his own vulnerability 4 8 14 41.

He is hardworking without being disdainful of cooperation. He accepts Bi Jin’s battle arrangements, refuses to underestimate weaker opponents, and continues learning from repeated defeats against Yun Ming. At the same time, he enjoys the attention that follows his victory over Xu Tianyang 18 19 23 37.

His protectiveness extends beyond his deeply cherished sister. He defends Xu Wei against Xu Tianyi’s dismissiveness and intervenes when Xu Tianyi suffers abuse in the arena. Although he retains compassion toward Soul Beasts, he can kill decisively when necessary 24 25 34 46.

Kong Xuan enters the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy’s newly established Soul Master class. The twins’ emergence has already prompted Kong Deming to influence the empire’s educational arrangements 12 16.

Initially uninterested in becoming class monitor, he participates after Ren Jun calls on him. He defeats Xu Tianyi through spearmanship, then reveals his two purple rings when facing the remaining candidates. His classmates accept his appointment without objection 17 20 21.

Defense of Xu Tianyi

After learning that Xu Tianyi is being severely beaten, Kong Xuan interrupts Xu Tianyang’s attack and takes responsibility as class monitor. Using spear intent, Void Stab, and Flight Restriction, he defeats the four-ring Soul Ancestor without relying on Soul Tools 32 34 35 36.

The victory makes him an academy celebrity. His criticism also helps Xu Tianyi recognize the consequences of reckless challenges; Xu Tianyi later refuses another request to spar with his older brother 37 47.

Tournament Invitation and Battle Armor Research

Kong Xuan accepts Xiao Hongchen’s invitation to compete in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Fighting Tournament four years later. Drawing on his knowledge of the original story, he warns the Hongchen siblings that Soul Ascension Pills could compromise their future breakthroughs and declares that he can help Sun Moon defeat Shrek 38 39.

He also supports battle armor development through knowledge supplied to Kong Deming. Although his enhanced vision offers potential advantages in forging, he declines to spend cultivation time independently reconstructing a forging legacy 41 42.

Kong Ling’s Second Soul Ring

During the Jingyang Mountain Range hunt, Kong Xuan helps secure a Thousand-Year Sun Radiance Fox for Kong Ling. When a Ten-Thousand-Year Dark Devil Shadow-Devouring Tiger attacks, Kong Deming kills it; Kong Xuan is not yet strong enough to face such a beast himself 46.

National Soul Master Class Competition

Kong Xuan takes a substitute role so Kong Ling, Xu Wei, and Xu Tianyi can gain meaningful competitive experience. He trains them beforehand and reserves his intervention for particularly troublesome opponents rather than winning every match for them 32 50.
