Ye Yan slipped past the Silvermane Guards on watch and soon reached Belobog's front line, the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone.
Silver Wolf followed behind Ye Yan. Just chatting was too boring, so she started playing a game.
"Ah... gaming on a rainy day really is better. It has atmosphere."
"Shh, hide first." Ye Yan grabbed Silver Wolf by the scruff of her neck and pulled her to his side like a kitten.
Silver Wolf looked utterly bewildered after being dragged over, still unable to process what had happened.
Come on, dude... how come you can grab people out of thin air just like that presiding bishop? And this is a hologram!
Good heavens, isn't this ability even more ridiculous than Aether Editing?!
After she and Sampo finished putting together their jailbreak plan, Silver Wolf handled support, providing a few virtual projections to fool their way through.
There was no helping it. Although her Aether Editing could alter reality, the final boss was no pushover either. She couldn't simply enter a set of coordinates and escape this planet.
Still, this church really was careless. What security could a wooden dungeon possibly offer? Even an ordinary person could break out of the cage with a little effort.
What was more, there wasn't a single guard around. They were the only ones in the entire dungeon, as though it had been prepared specifically for them.
Silver Wolf smelled trouble. Something's wrong! This feels like a trap!
But this wasn't the time to think. Escaping came first!
Seeing how shoddily built the dungeon was, Silver Wolf had even thought up her parting taunt.
A mere dungeon can't hold Punklorde's genius hacker!
Besides, we've got someone from [Elation] helping us. This round's in the bag!
After she freed Sampo from his restraints, the two easily left their cell. Before leaving, Silver Wolf even remembered to tag all the doctrine on the walls with graffiti.
"If I remember correctly, Miss Silver Wolf, wasn't this what got you locked up?"
Sampo hadn't expected the girl to be so persistent. Everything those folks at the Tavern said was true!
Punklorde had a tradition: when its hackers broke into something, they liked to deliberately leave something behind, waiting to be discovered... like a letter of challenge.
With this move, Silver Wolf was unleashing her ultimate right in the church's face! Never forgetting her original purpose-this was the true spirit of Punklorde!
"Competition brings winners and losers, and winning and losing bring fun. Life's a game; having fun is what matters most." Looking at the emote graffiti covering an entire wall, Silver Wolf nodded in satisfaction.
"Before you were locked up, did that man named Blake make you copy out that Book of Eternal Whatever Virtues as punishment?"
"Hm?" Sampo scratched his head. "No, he personally escorted me down here. What about you, Miss Silver Wolf?"
"They really showed you respect. Personal delivery by the boss. I'm a little jealous."
"Please don't... I don't have much power right now. Without my [mask], we'll be in trouble if we run into the presiding bishop."
"Fair point. How about we turn back and wait for reinforcements? I'll help tie your hands and feet back up."
Silver Wolf knew full well that once they took this step, there was no turning back!
So what if he's an Emanator? The Galaxy Rangers once teamed up and killed a Lord Ravager. One of them was even a legend of Punklorde.
His life had begun in Punklorde's underground reservoirs. Through a chance encounter, he became a Galaxy Ranger, roaming the sea of stars over many long years, traveling far and wide and witnessing many extraordinary people and events.
Among them were plenty of details that neither the Corporation nor the Genius Society had ever recorded. Yet this legendary hacker had reportedly come to the church to retire in the final stage of his life.
No one knew what had happened during that time.
In the end, surrounded by Galaxy Rangers, he finally brought his brilliant life to a close.
It was said that the funeral was quiet and soundless, with only a game cartridge lying upon his coffin, marking the end of a hacker's story with the footnote [game cleared].
The story of that cartridge was widely told on Punklorde, no different from a textbook.
The cartridge was supposedly with Herta. One day, Silver Wolf would get that cartridge she dreamed of day and night from that woman!
After hearing Silver Wolf's words, Sampo felt he had been scammed again. If only he still had his mask...
"Stop worrying about all that nonsense. You've got to smile when you play games. Let's clear a wave of mobs for some EXP first, then go straight for their stronghold!"
Silver Wolf flashed a healthy smile. Her confidence left Sampo dumbfounded. Could this girl have another trump card?
His gaze shifted involuntarily to another earthen wall that hadn't yet been covered in graffiti. Lines of neat handwriting read as follows:
"Church of Eternity: First Draft of Doctrine," written by High Priest Fulisina / translated by Presiding Bishop Blake
May the Aeon of [Eternity] above bestow endless glory upon us! To better follow in Their footsteps, Presiding Bishop Blake has personally taken up his pen to draft this doctrine! May all believers who follow Them remember it in their hearts and never forget their original purpose.
Article one: the Aeon of [Eternity] will forgive every sin you have committed, including: being ugly, having a vile nature, staying home doing nothing every day, and refusing to work hard while slacking off daily.
We should reflect deeply on why the above situations arise. Is it because we have failed to properly worship the Aeon of [Eternity]? Is it because the vile spawn of [Destruction] have invaded our minds?
Of course, there is no need to blame yourself, for They embrace all things! Simply shift the blame to another Aeon. The best choice is Nanook the [Destruction].
Article two: ...
Sampo's face darkened. This church wasn't even pretending anymore!
His gaze moved down. There was another passage of blurry handwriting:
P.S. Fill out a membership application now to receive a free baseball bat from Lady Fulisina! To be continued...
A baseball bat? Does this priestess like ball sports too?
"Miss Silver Wolf, I think you'd better cover all the walls in graffiti." Sampo couldn't take it anymore. This doctrine was even more disorganized than his grandmother's notebook.
"Better not. That would be too disrespectful to their Aeon, even if I really want to..."
Reason prevailed, and Silver Wolf refrained from spraying graffiti over every wall. She still respected the church. So far, the only thing she hated was copying out the "Book of Eternal Virtues," which had left her arms aching.
Other than that, they really didn't seem to have done anything too excessive.
The very first page of the "Book of Eternal Virtues" read:
Forgive outsiders who offend the Aeon of [Eternity]. Communicate with them as harmoniously, amicably, and freely as possible, encourage them to join the church and worship [Eternity] together, and avoid pointless conflict. This is one of the virtues.
P.S. Forces of [Destruction] are excluded.
When you hesitate, you will regret your choice no matter what you choose. Since you'll regret it anyway, why not enjoy the moment and find pleasure in it? Life is all about having fun.
After all, the Aeon of [Eternity] will forgive everything! This is the virtue of magnanimity and compassion! Think of what They once said to Presiding Bishop Blake!
[Aeons all have one-track minds. They're all **]
That's right! If you must blame someone, blame Nanook. They did it all!
"Oh no, I almost got assimilated!"
Silver Wolf hurriedly banished the thoughts from her mind. This Aeon of [Eternity] played way too dirty. How was anyone supposed to play without a nerf?
After composing herself, Silver Wolf pushed open the dungeon's old wooden door together with Sampo in one concerted effort.
Silver Wolf first poked her head out. After confirming no one was around, she surveyed the layout outside.
A solemn, stately church. No wonder she called the church ridiculous. What normal person put a dungeon inside a holy church?
