Background / History
Survivor of the Swarm Disaster
Fulisina’s home was destroyed by the Swarm. The Aeon of Eternity, known as Lord Yite and traveling as Ye Yan, found her on a planet affected by the disaster. She later founded the Church of Eternity and wrote the doctrines circulated among its followers 51 75.
In the tenth Amber Era after Ye Yan took her in, she discovered a mysterious book titled How to attract the Aeon of [Eternity] and make him pay more attention to you? Its notes claimed to draw on the Masked Fools’ personal experiences. When she threw it away, an unseen force returned it to her arms 75.
The book encouraged her to recite extravagant, obscure declarations to Ye Yan. His puzzled reaction convinced her that its advice worked, establishing the theatrical manner of speech she continued to use 75.
Building Paradise
Fulisina and Blake spent a thousand years developing and decorating Paradise. After reuniting with Ye Yan on Jarilo-VI, she asked him to visit again, suggesting that he could conceal his identity and arrive as an ordinary traveler 71 75.
Despite being the Church’s founder, Fulisina does not handle all its administration. Blake manages its affairs and formal meetings, while she travels among the stars 209.
Campaign Against Zulo
Several Amber Eras before the Astral Express incident, a clash of ideals between Fulisina and Blake escalated into a battle that overturned a star system. Both were depleted when Lord Ravager Zulo appeared, pursued by Galaxy Rangers. They stopped fighting each other and joined the Rangers against him 201.
The Rangers remained the main fighting force. Fulisina supported them with secret arts of Eternity that prevented Zulo from wearing them down, while Blake supplied additional attacks. Their involvement was little known, and the successful campaign brought the Galaxy Rangers widespread renown 201.
Appearance
Fulisina has a youthful elven appearance, with long silver hair, emerald-green eyes, pointed ears, and exceptionally pale skin 160 168.
- Priestly clothing: Wears robes decorated with star runes; a later outfit consists of floor-length pale gray robes with a faintly glowing hem and silver hair ornaments engraved with runes of Eternity 480 557.
- Supernatural presence: Her hair can trail stardust, ice crystals condense with her breath, and her arrival can sharply lower the surrounding temperature 63.
- Eyes during combat: Her eyes are described as holding revolving galaxies or shining with silver radiance when she draws on her power 480 609 612.
- Everyday clothing: Has also worn an ash-gray cashmere scarf and a work outfit consisting of a white shirt and dark knee-length skirt 65 160.
Personality
Fulisina’s defining trait is her absolute devotion to Eternity. She evaluates people, institutions, and actions chiefly by whether they serve or obstruct Ye Yan’s will. In Amphoreus, she explicitly treats strength as the basis of justice and considers the Senate expendable when it threatens Eternity’s plans 446 561.
Her solemn image conceals an enthusiastic, easily embarrassed theatrical streak. She insists on being called a “holy maiden” rather than a priest, becomes delighted when Sushang accepts that title, and privately judges her own entrances and rescues as performances. After repairing the Dawn Machine, she immediately begins considering a cooler title and chant for her next appearance 71 118 561 612.
She can be protective without being indiscriminately merciful. She rescues strangers, shields allies, and respects Afrit’s decision to face death, but attacks Dahlia without hesitation after rejecting her explanation. Her hostility toward Destruction is particularly intense: news of a Lord Ravager is enough to make her prepare to leave and confront the threat immediately 117 183 246 475 503.
Fulisina is also strongly concerned with saving face. She disguises paid work as “magic that earns lots of Credits” and turns the discovery that Ye Yan served her ordinary water into an elaborate declaration about Eternity’s pure essence 160 298.
Abilities & Skills
Authority of Eternity
Fulisina is an established Emanator of Eternity, recognized for her offensive power as the Aeon’s “sharpest spear” 71 283.
- Energy anchoring: Forcibly arrests the flow of Imaginary Energy during her attack on Afrit 183.
- Freezing effects: Traps Fragmentum Monsters in miniature hourglasses within ice crystals; her starlight can crystallize surfaces and leave affected space seemingly fixed at the instant of impact 79 475.
- Hierarchical suppression: Her arrival forces Senate assassins out of hiding despite their attempts to remain concealed 557.
Starlight Weapons and Energy Attacks
Fulisina fights with concentrated light, magic projectiles, and a transforming staff 79 82 282.
- Fires compressed energy blasts with enough control to destroy frozen Voidranger remains without producing substantial surrounding wind 82.
- Incinerates mara-struck soldiers and Disciples of Sanctus Medicus before Sushang can follow her movements 117 118.
- Forms arrows, spears, and exceptionally concentrated points of starlight 83 246 609 610.
- Draws on the Asdana Galaxy’s starlight to form a bow attack whose preparation distorts nearby space and slows the apparent flow of time 282.
Spatial Manipulation and Gravity
Fulisina uses spatial powers for travel, combat, and concealment 63 118 609.
- Teleportation: Opens portals for herself and others, including a route to the Dreamscape hotel lobby 222.
- Eternal Night Veil: Conceals both her body and presence while she observes unfamiliar surroundings 63.
- Black holes: Creates miniature black holes, including a combat manifestation several meters across that tears at space and exerts crushing gravity 126 609.
- Gravitational capture: Forms a compressed celestial body whose gravitational vortex drags Black Tide creatures into destructive starlight 610.
- Practical limitation: Her reliance on teleportation has left her with virtually no sense of direction 118.
Defense and Support
Fulisina can protect herself and sustain other combatants 82 201.
- A pitch-black shield repels Cocolia’s ice-lance attack and throws her away 82.
- Takes a direct energy blast from the Stellaron without injury while continuing to charge her staff 83.
- Applies secret arts of Eternity to the Galaxy Rangers during the campaign against Zulo, preventing him from exhausting them through attrition 201.
- Envelops Aventurine in protective radiance and sends a starlight spear against Acheron’s approaching attack 246.
Dreamscape Intervention
Fulisina can move others between Penacony’s dream layers 225.
- Transports Firefly and Something Unto Death to the Land of Exile 225.
- Blake later identifies this intervention as rewriting Firefly’s first scripted death into a rebirth 275.
- Helps Ye Yan deceive the Dream Master into believing they have left Penacony; Ye Yan attributes their deception to the divine authority of Trickery 249.
Creation and Restoration
Fulisina can direct Eternity’s power toward repair rather than destruction 612.
- Restores the damaged core of the Dawn Machine using power described as “creation” and “sustenance” 612.
- Reignites Okhema’s protective light, shutting everlasting night outside the city 612.
- Conjures taro bubble milk tea from the Vortex of Genesis 612.
Limits
- Cannot break the crimson barrier encountered during the Cocolia conflict; she later attributes her helplessness to the intervention of the Aeon of Elation 84 86.
- Recalls being defeated by an exceptionally powerful, taciturn Galaxy Ranger, an encounter that changed her assessment of the Hunt’s followers 84.
- Does not successfully strike Dahlia during their milk tea shop confrontation; Dahlia disappears immediately before the beam reaches her 475.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Transforming staff — A stellar-silver weapon formed from intertwined mithril vines embedded with pale blue stardust. Its floating hourglass core endlessly cycles luminous sand. It can transform into a massive bow 79 282.
- Book of Eternal Virtues — A Church text Fulisina expands in response to her experiences, including her defeat by a Galaxy Ranger and her grievances against Elation’s followers 84 86.
- Masked Fools’ advice book — The mysterious guide responsible for encouraging her elaborate speeches and attempts to attract Ye Yan’s attention 75.
- Baseball bat and soap projectiles — Used during Ye Yan’s “baseball training,” which consists of repeatedly launching explosive soap at the Tavern 212.
- Two Cornerstones — Temporarily entrusted to her by Blake in Dreamflux Reef, including the Topaz Stone; he specifically warns her not to break them 235.
Relationships
- Ye Yan / Lord Yite — Her rescuer, deity, and central source of purpose. She seeks his attention and approval, invites him back to Paradise, and works to remove obstacles to his plans 51 75 446.
- Blake — Fellow Emanator and long-standing Church partner. Their relationship combines cooperation, teasing, ideological conflict, and occasional outright fighting. In combat, she trusts him to handle defense while she supplies damage 62 132 201.
- Stelle — Prospective recruit and traveling ally. Fulisina senses both Destruction and Eternity within her and considers her suited to joining Paradise 71 222.
- March 7th — Ally whom she protects from Dahlia’s impersonation of Ye Yan. Fulisina later watches March’s “Years” trial through a screen that displays even her inner thoughts 474 517.
- Sushang — Rescued companion whose willingness to call her “Sister Holy Maiden” immediately wins her approval 117 118.
- Luocha — Traveling companion she meets while rescuing him and Sushang. He cautiously questions her about Eternity, while she takes an interest in his coffin 117 118.
- Acheron — Combat ally against Afrit and during the Penacony investigation; Fulisina later intervenes against her attack to protect Aventurine 183 222 246.
- Firefly — A Stellaron Hunter whose first scripted death Fulisina changes through her Dreamscape intervention 225 275.
- Screwllum — Church associate whom she equips with a secret weapon; she considers him unlikely to be endangered by Cerydra’s arrest because of that protection and Ye Yan’s attention 446.
- Dahlia / Constance — Former collaborator at the Ever-Flame Mansion whom Fulisina refuses to trust. She rejects Dahlia’s interest in Eternity’s memories and attacks her 474 475.
- Aglaea — Rescued from Canis and the Purgers. Fulisina tells her to return to her duties while Eternity deals with the remaining Senate threat 561.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Jarilo-VI
Fulisina accompanies Blake during his dealings with Tingyun. Their dispute over who should escort Tingyun ends in a soap-flipping ritual; when the soap stands upright through unseen intervention, they accept it as Lord Yite’s decision. Fulisina agrees to represent the Church on Tingyun’s return to the Xianzhou Luofu 62.
She reunites with Ye Yan at the Neverwinter Workshop after a thousand years apart, reveals her identity to his companions, and attempts to recruit Stelle. During the expedition toward the Stellaron, she clears the snowfield and destroys frozen Legion remains 71 79 82.
Cocolia attacks her at Everwinter Hill, only to be repelled by her shield. Fulisina retaliates on Ye Yan’s orders, but the subsequent crimson barrier prevents her from resolving the confrontation by force 82 83 84.
Xianzhou Luofu
Fulisina changes her travel plans after learning through a Stellaron Hunter acquaintance that the Astral Express is heading to the Luofu. She rescues Luocha and Sushang at Cloudford, then joins their journey through the ship 117 118.
At the Artisanship Commission, she defeats Master Gongshu’s machines and joins Blake in confronting the Abundance Ebon Deer. Her opening blast triggers a red barrier and an outside force that sends the deer to the Divination Commission. After the Stellaron crisis, she goes to handle the Stellaron 132 151.
Afrit and Penacony
At the Ever-Flame Mansion, Fulisina fights alongside Acheron. After Afrit refuses an opportunity to survive, she immobilizes the flow of Imaginary Energy and engulfs him in Eternity’s light, respecting his chosen end 183.
In Penacony, she searches for Ye Yan, travels with Stelle’s group, and intervenes in Firefly’s encounter with Something Unto Death. She subsequently protects Aventurine and helps Ye Yan deceive the Dream Master 222 225 246 249.
Her later actions include delivering Blake’s restorative milk tea to an elderly dreamer and preparing a vast starlight arrow against the fleeing Swarm 262 282.
Amphoreus
A later explanation reveals that Blake, Fulisina, and the Church’s clergy intervened early in Scepter δ-me13 and imprisoned Lygus. Fulisina settled in the Vortex of Genesis and created her identity as a reclusive High Priest 625.
Working to advance Ye Yan’s plans, she treats the Senate as an obstacle to be removed. She confronts Dahlia for impersonating Ye Yan and seeking Eternity’s memories, then rescues Aglaea by piercing Canis and erasing the surrounding Purgers 446 474 475 561.
Fulisina later stages a spectacular battle with Blake’s Flame Reaver persona. Beneath their apparently lethal exchanges, both use their attacks to eliminate Black Tide creatures and cover one another. Their broader preparations are intended to temper the Chrysos Heirs for the confrontation with Iron Tomb 609 610 612.
Afterward, she repairs the Dawn Machine and restores the protective light over Okhema 612.
