Background / History
Early Life on Punklorde
Silver Wolf met Ye Yan while she was young, playing games in the basement of a fast-food restaurant on Punklorde. He stayed and played with her for several months. During that time, he used an Aether Cartridge to alter his score to an astronomical number, leaving a lasting impression on her 2.
After growing up and learning Aether Editing, Silver Wolf hacked her way to Ye Yan’s contact information and demanded a rematch. His use of Eternity defeated even her cheats. She came to regard him as a final boss, while he cultivated their friendship partly because her hacking could help fabricate identities for him 2.
Imprisonment at the Church of Eternity
After joining the Stellaron Hunters and completing her first mission, Silver Wolf visited the Church of Eternity’s hot springs on Ye Yan’s recommendation. She was arrested after spraying Punklorde-style graffiti on a statue of its Aeon. Presiding Bishop Blake, an Emanator, punished her with copying the Book of Eternal Virtues and confined her to a dungeon 37 38.
There, she met Sampo and agreed to cooperate on an escape. She supplied virtual projections, freed him from his restraints, and covered the dungeon’s doctrinal inscriptions with graffiti. Although she suspected a trap, she pressed ahead with the jailbreak 38 39.
Silver Wolf later recalled being defeated by Blake and receiving a consolation bar of soap. Nevertheless, she managed to graffiti his face and acquire the Church’s coordinates during the incident 50.
Appearance
- Silver hair, arranged with a single turbine-shaped spiral braid 13 24.
- Short stature; at Boulder Town’s Fight Club, she complains that the venue does not accommodate shorter spectators 49.
- Her remote projection can appear translucent, though its realism leads Ye Yan to compare it to a physical person 36 37.
Personality
Silver Wolf treats the universe as a giant game, describing missions through dungeons, bosses, character builds, and team fights. Competition is central to her enjoyment: Screwllum’s appearance excites her rather than frightening her, and she insists that entering his challenge was an eager choice, not a desperate gamble 2 13 21 23.
Her confidence is accompanied by a mischievous streak. She leaves graffiti after intrusions, mocks Herta’s portraits, and secretly records Stelle and March 7th’s pillow fight. She also tries to surprise Ye Yan with a holographic visit and spoil the Astral Express’s next destination before Kafka can reveal it 22 36 37 39.
Despite her independence, she strongly values Ye Yan’s company. His refusal to play makes her suspect he has found another partner; his interest in Herta Puppets prompts similar jealousy. Losing all seventy-six game accounts leaves her visibly upset, although she insists she is neither a child nor crying 2 9 23.
Her concern extends to her fellow Hunters. She looks forward to opportunities for the whole team to fight together and quickly recognizes Eternity as a possible answer to Firefly’s Entropy Loss Syndrome because she does not want to lose a companion 21 24.
Abilities & Skills
Aether Editing
Silver Wolf uses Aether Editing to alter reality, calling it a skill passed down through generations of Punklorde hackers 39 40.
- Spatial relocation: Opens digital portals for transportation and deliveries, including receiving a Herta Puppet from Ye Yan 9 43.
- Target displacement: Can send low-level robots into space by entering coordinates 49.
- Remote assistance: Helps Ye Yan dispose of the Fight Club’s Automaton Soldiers by sending them to the Church of Eternity 50.
- Limits: Cannot simply enter coordinates and escape the Church while facing Blake. She acknowledges that she cannot defeat an Emanator of Eternity 38 39.
Hacking and Security Infiltration
Silver Wolf bypasses the Curio concealing Herta Space Station’s Stellaron chamber, removes the Stellaron’s protective barrier, and prepares Stelle’s vessel for Kafka 13.
- Remotely infiltrates the Simulated Universe 23.
- Creates a program that reveals another user’s real-time location while gaming or chatting 9.
- Retrieves Cocolia Rand’s personal information while visiting Ye Yan remotely 36.
- Participates in a digital attack powerful enough to paralyze the Interastral Network 24.
- Her access is not universal: she complains that Herta’s portraits resist her attempts to add a graffiti mustache 22.
Holographic Projection and Surveillance
Her advanced projection includes real-time sensory feedback, allowing her to experience a remote location almost as though physically present 36.
- Can switch to a mode in which only Ye Yan can see her 37.
- Uses projections for deception and jailbreak support 39.
- Plants a nano imaging device on Stelle at Kafka’s request, monitoring her movements and physical data 36.
- Records and broadcasts events remotely, including the pillow fight at the Goethe Hotel 37.
- Limits: The projection cannot eat or drink and is unsuitable for fighting. Silver Wolf therefore appears in person to battle Fragmentum Monsters 36 40.
- Counters: Ye Yan can physically grab her hologram. Stelle’s Eternity bat can hurt her virtual representation, while its compass form detects her despite selective visibility 23 39 50.
Planning and Combat
Screwllum praises Silver Wolf’s talent for calculating variables and preparing fallback plans. Her Simulated Universe scheme fails when his unexpected arrival, the threatened shutdown, and Stelle’s Eternity weapon undermine those preparations 23.
- Draws additional Antimatter Legion forces to Herta Space Station when Elio’s garbled script leaves the operation unclear 12 13.
- Defeats Fragmentum Monsters with one swing each using Ye Yan’s borrowed amber hammer 41 42.
- Describes herself as not good at fighting, preferring technical solutions such as teleporting enemies away 49.
Equipment / Items
- Gaming phone — Carries a phone specifically for games and immediately produces it when Ye Yan agrees to a match 13.
- Seventy-six game accounts — All are located and banned by Herta; Silver Wolf subsequently recovers them 23 24.
- Combat-power-detection monocle — A specially developed device used to assess the Silvermane Guards and their opponents 40.
- Nano imaging device — Planted on Stelle for remote surveillance and physical monitoring 36.
- Bubble gum — Frequently chewed during conversations and operations; she gives Ye Yan a box before leaving the space station 2 12 14.
- Herta Puppet — Sent to her by Ye Yan through a digital portal, despite her professed lack of interest 9.
- Rating Gun — Temporarily uses Curio No. 752 on Ye Yan. It produces both “8 points” and “Unable to determine,” after which she tosses it to him 13.
- Amber hammer — borrowed — Ye Yan lends her the weapon to clear Fragmentum Monsters. Its use also causes the nearby Guards to feel the power of Preservation 40 41 42.
Relationships
- Ye Yan — Longtime gaming companion and an opponent she has never beaten. She considers him an exceptionally powerful Pathstrider, possibly an Emanator, without recognizing that he is the Aeon of Eternity himself. This leads her to complain about Eternity’s unfair blessings while remaining close to him 2 21 43.
- Kafka — Teammate and confidante. Kafka discusses mission uncertainties with her, asks her to monitor Stelle, and entrusts Ye Yan with comforting her after the account bans 3 23 36.
- Stelle — Helps prepare her as the Stellaron’s vessel and later monitors her for Kafka. Stelle defeats her in the Simulated Universe with Ye Yan’s bat and subsequently tracks her concealed hologram with its compass form 13 23 36 50.
- Herta — Hacking rival and custodian of the Aether Cartridge Silver Wolf covets. Their conflict culminates in Herta banning all seventy-six of her accounts 14 23 39.
- Screwllum — Respected technical opponent. Silver Wolf welcomes the chance to challenge him, while he acknowledges both her exceptional hacking and careful planning 23.
- Sampo — Fellow Church prisoner and jailbreak partner. She later asks him to arrange an identity for Ye Yan on Jarilo-VI 27 38 39.
- Blake — Emanator who arrests and defeats her. She wants to learn how to counter his ability to seize targets seemingly out of thin air 37 40 50.
- Firefly — Fellow Stellaron Hunter whose survival matters to her. Silver Wolf realizes Ye Yan’s Eternity power could counter Entropy Loss Syndrome 24.
