Internal Realms
Origin strength, rather than numbered grades, determines advancement within the Eternal Realm 437 438.

|---|---|---|
| Initial Source | Eternal origin has begun condensing but remains unstable. | Possesses an indestructible body and can nurture personal rules, but must still depend on a major world 438. |
| True Source | Origin becomes stable and independent of a major world. | Can create a new world, begin wielding chaos power, and make words law without paying a price 438 452. |

| Chaos | Origin transforms into chaos; the cultivator becomes a world unto themselves. | Can create entirely new universal rules and disregard the constraints of karma, time, fate, and space 438. |
Nature of the Realm
Origin and Worldhood
- Immortal Realm: An Immortal connects their Origin Fire to the world’s origin. Their lifespan is endless while that connection survives, but severing it can kill them 334.
- Eternal Realm: An Eternal develops an origin within themselves, becoming a world-like existence rather than merely drawing life from the surrounding world 406 438.
- Independence is gradual: Initial Source Eternals still require a major world; complete independence begins at True Source 438 452.
- Origin consumption drives growth: Eternals can strengthen themselves by devouring other origins. Lin Chang describes the conflict between the Sin Abyss World and the myriad races’ major world as a struggle over origin 438.
Immortality and Revival
- Eternals are described as existing across the past, present, and future, rather than depending solely on their present bodies 323.
- If a trace of an Eternal’s Origin Power remains, they retain a chance to return after death 406.
- Revival may require endless ages. Lin An gives this possibility for both Lin Chang and the slain War Calamity Sin Lord 442 443.
- Eternal does not mean unkillable: The Heavenly Sword can erase an Eternal completely, preventing the return that would otherwise remain possible 334 443.
- The Chaos Heart Lamp’s fire can burn an Eternal soul. Jialuo Moye experiences a genuine threat of death when he attempts to possess Lin An 341.
Power and Limitations
- An Eternal can annihilate countless Immortal Ninth Grade cultivators with a single thought 374.
- Equal standing with heaven and earth does not mean equal strength: even a true Eternal cannot necessarily resist a major world’s power 416.
- A world can benefit enormously by devouring and refining an Eternal, treating them as another small world 416.
- Severely weakened Eternals are not reliable measures of the realm’s full strength. Lin An compares the weakened Eternal Sin Beast he killed to a river, and one at its peak to a vast ocean 431.
Attaining the Realm
Eternal Dao Foundation and Dao Body
The Eternal Dao Foundation is identified with the Eternal Dao Body: a transformation of the cultivator’s physical existence, not simply an increase in strength 416.
- Origin Power and Origin Fragments can help forge the foundation 405.
- The first-place Battle Ranking throne supplies Origin Power, but cannot complete the foundation by itself 405 406.
- The Sacred Realm was created by the World Origin Will to provide an opportunity to reach the Eternal Realm 371.
- A completed Eternal Dao Body is no longer governed by the world’s ordinary rules of death and annihilation 416.
- Possessing the body alone does not make someone an Eternal. Lin An’s soul and cultivation power still belonged to the world after his physical transformation 416.
Eternal Soul and Personal Rules
- Lin An describes the remaining steps after bodily transformation as making the soul Eternal, developing personal rules of heaven and earth, and transforming oneself into heaven and earth 416.
- An Eternal Heart, which can be refined after an Eternal falls, helps transform the soul 416.
- Lin An receives one as the system reward for becoming the first player to kill an Eternal Realm Sin Beast 417.
- During his final breakthrough, the River of Time and Fate washes away his soul’s remaining earthly ties and completes its transformation 440.
Half-Step Eternal
- Half-Step Eternal denotes someone who has touched the realm’s threshold, rather than a true Eternal 416.
- Lin An dismisses the designation as an embellished description of an Immortal 425.
- An Eternal Dao Body is not synonymous with Half-Step Eternal. Lin An considers his bodily transformation a deeper step across the threshold, despite not being classified as Half-Step Eternal 416.
- With that body, he estimates that physical attacks from Half-Step Eternals would struggle to injure him and that he could suppress them through physical strength alone 416.
The Extreme Realm Path
- Completing the Extreme Realm is not a universal requirement: Lin Chang became an Eternal without reaching its end 443.
- Lin An chooses to slay an Eternal Sin Beast to attain Extreme Realm Ninth Heaven before advancing 431.
- Lin Chang helps him kill the War Calamity Sin Lord, then becomes his Fate Tribulation to complete the path 443.
- Other Eternals expect Lin An’s completed Extreme Realm foundation to give him combat strength far beyond ordinary cultivators at the same level 441.
Breakthrough Phenomena
- A breakthrough can summon a projection of the River of Time and Fate, followed by the advancing cultivator’s figure above it 440 441.
- Lin An’s projection appears across the Land of Rules, the Domain, and the Myriad Spirits Realm 440.
- Wu Tianshan’s advancement produces overwhelming pressure, celestial phenomena, and the same river manifestation 470.
- These phenomena can be concealed: Lin Chang’s breakthrough occurs inside the Sacred Realm, which screens them from the outside world 450.

Role in the World
Racial Standing
- Possessing an Eternal ancestor qualifies a race for top-tier standing among the myriad races 429 470.
- After Lin An advances, the Human Race formally addresses him as Ancestor; established Eternals recognize him as a fellow Daoist 441 442.
- Eternal protection deters attacks even when other races fear the Human Race’s rapid growth 464.
- Four further human breakthroughs bring the Human Race’s reported total to thirteen; every publicly observed breakthrough during the preceding hundred years has been human 479.
Defense Against the Sin Abyss
- Only Eternals can enter the Sea of Origin, where they use their own Origin Power to drive out the Sin Abyss’s corrosive Origin Power 473.
- Nine established racial ancestors had been quietly resisting this encroachment before the newer Human Race Eternals joined them 476 481.
- The Heavenly Sword can kill Eternals and deters the Sin Lords from openly attacking, underpinning the Land of Rules’ earlier peace 417.
- In the war against the Sin Domains, the Eternal-level battles are identified as the encounters that will ultimately decide the outcome 481.
Eternal-Rank Auxiliary Professions
- Lin An cannot advance artifact refining from peak Immortal Rank to Eternal Rank before his own cultivation reaches the Eternal Realm 434.
- After advancing, he develops Origin Pill Fire through Eternal alchemy and can gather surrounding laws into a pill 445.
- He subsequently raises all five hundred of his auxiliary professions to Eternal Rank 447.
