Entering Northern Europe
Space distorted and fluctuated, Bai Mo appeared with Ortlinde in front of the Storm Wall in the Scandinavian Lostbelt. Ortlinde was still wearing that pure white hooded dress, like a white swan.
The two disappeared again in the next instant. After a long time, Bai Mo reappeared with Ortlinde in a more distant place.
"Completely silent. Did that Ultimate powerhouse simply not notice? Or is he not yet at the level to manipulate space?"
After their previous encounter with Chaldeas, both Bai Wunan and Shiki sensed the gaze of an Ultimate powerhouse. They quickly returned shortly after appearing to confirm whether their spatial maneuver would be detected by the other party.
"It seems our guess was correct. As long as it's Lostbelt, it can be brought out without triggering any contingency plans left by Marisbury."
Inside the Chaldea control room, Dr. Roman's voice came through. Since it was Lostbelt raid, Chaldea would provide all the support it could. Moreover, in Bai Mo's opinion, this Dr. Roman was not a simple person.
According to Ritsuka's previous report, even when she was trapped in Fran's illusion, she could still hear Dr. Roman calling her name. Fran's illusion is not something that a simple Magecraft can easily interfere with.
But he doesn't want to talk about it, and Bai Mo won't ask. He'll talk about it when he wants to.
As for the backup plan proposed by everyone, the concern is that Marisbury might have left some detection methods on the Bleaching Earth, the most likely of which is the detection of the total amount.
It's like a precisely graduated beaker; you can detect its entire volume, even if it's just a little bit too much.
Inside the room, Shi looked at the result and a slight smile appeared on his lips.
"It seems to be effective. Although the soul is not from this world, as long as it resides in a physical body of this world, it can still have an effect."
Since no one noticed, Bai Mo felt relieved and quietly broke through the Storm Wall with Ortlinde. An imperceptible light shone from his "Guardian of Human Order" aura, the Storm Wall was torn open, and the two entered this world.
When you think of Northern Europe, what comes to mind first? Crystal-clear lakes, towering snow-capped mountains and lush meadows, small and charming towns...
It certainly wouldn't be like this.
The sky was completely black, with Wubian black clouds obscuring the heavens. Beneath those clouds, a gigantic crimson fireball served as the sun, and countless fire rains fell.
The Daichi was covered with a layer of frost, but unlike the ice and snow in Russia, it was like a lake in winter, with a thick layer of frost covering the entire Daichi.
If normal snowfall is like covering the Daichi with a blanket, then the frost here is like covering the Daichi with a coffin lid, the kind that's welded shut.
"Is this... Should we be in Northern Europe?"
"From a geographical perspective... yes."
Bai Mo tentatively asked, and Da Vinci in the control room gave an affirmative answer. Although he had guessed that things might not be good in Northern Europe, the scene before him was simply too terrifying.
"So this really is Northern Europe. I thought I had come to Hell."
Bai Mo shook his head and laughed. "Now it's not hard to understand why those giants ran away. This godforsaken place is too much for even giants to handle."
"Bai Mo, is that sun... looking at us?"
Behind her came Ortlinde's worried voice. As soon as she finished speaking, a loud blast of air was heard from the sky, and an intense heat that almost melted one's face rushed towards them.
A fiery meteor the size of a cruise ship hurtled towards them, its intense light instantly illuminating everything around them. The frost instantly vaporized, Ortlinde could almost feel the pain of her skin melting.
Without hesitation, she stood in front of Bai Mo, and the Divine Iron Shield unfurled a layer of arc light as thin as a cicada's wing.
Once a promise is made, it must be kept as long as one is alive.
Under this terrifying heat, the arc of light from the small shield didn't even have time to expand before it vanished into nothingness. A wave of dejection washed over her. Wasn't this the inevitable outcome? It was utterly futile. But perhaps it was for the best; at least her soul had returned home.
With a soft crack, the enormous meteor before her was split in two, and Bai Mo withdrew her hand that had been extended from her side. The raging fire that had been so ferocious just moments before now bowed its head and bent its back like a greeter at a hotel entrance, completely devoid of its previous world-destroying power.
Only now did Ortlinde realize that the person before her seemed to be even more powerful than she had imagined.
"Thank you for standing in front of me, but next time you face an insurmountable danger, stand behind me. Once you've grown stronger, stand by my side as a warrior."
Bai Mo patted Ortlinde on the shoulder, comforting her while silencing her apology. He reached out his hand, and the surrounding flames seemed to surge into his palm as if they were alive.
"What a strange power. It doesn't seem to be Magnetic Field Power, but this level of energy condensation couldn't possibly be only this small." Bai Mo pondered for a moment, then turned his gaze to the eerie "sun" in the sky.
Although I really wanted to go and see what was going on, I decided against it. Judging from what I sensed, this thing was incredibly powerful; whether it fell or exploded, it was no joke.
It might bring more than just this one Lostbelt; the entire Bleaching Earth could be reduced to ashes like a boiled egg in a microwave.
"What the hell is that thing...?"
"It's Surtr."
A voice echoed in her mind. Although her omniscient abilities were affected by the Magnetic Field Power, her all-encompassing knowledge still allowed her to recognize things from their appearance.
"Surtr? That fire giant who ended everything at the end of Ragnarok? How did that thing become the sun in the sky?" Dr. Roman from the Chaldea side exclaimed in disbelief.
Before they could even accept this fact, a huge red dot appeared on the display, and Ortlinde and the rest of Chaldea exclaimed in unison.
"Bai Mo, a threat is approaching us."
"It seems that although this place has become a living hell, it is still at least hospitable."
Bai Mo's easy words gave Ortlinde a sense of security. A Gale howled, followed by the roar and howl of a dragon, and a huge figure attacked him.
"Dragons? When it comes to Northern Europe, you can't ignore dragons. Romani, you've got a bad location. You've appeared so quickly, could you have landed right at the entrance to a dragon's lair?"
Da Vinci joked.
Although Lostbelt are completely off-history, geographically, unless influenced by external forces, there are still traces to follow, as Russia has proven.
Although the situation here is completely unsuitable for human survival, there are still ways for Dragon Kind to survive.
